Bungie, make an announcement on Twitter for when new players can expect to play your game.
For the poll, "new players" meaning any players that have bought Destiny 1 since February 27th of this year.

Its fixed now, seems the maintenance Bungie just completed this evening on Destiny 1 resolved the issue at least for me. Give it a try folks!

It seems like the problem is fixed now. I was able to login and create a character after seeing posts of other guardians being able to sign in. Give it another shot peeps Huge Thank You for fixing this problem Bungie

Hello, I am a new player and I just installed destiny (its destiny, there isnt any number) and it keeps saying i have error code chicken and when i go to see whats the problem its always destiny 2 and i am playing destiny, no destiny2. I cleared my ps4, I restarted it AND STILL nothing, I have Destiny and Destiny 2. I currently play Destiny. Please fix the Bungie.

I have an update! I asked Divide (a known content creator) if he could take a look at this situation, and he said he'd look into it! Maybe if he can get the word out, we'll actually get somewhere!

We need to start making a fus everywhere folks. Try getting in touch with some mid level d2 content creators. Just one or 2 posts to make the general public aware of what's going on would go a long way. This is an old game and that's why bungie doesn't give a -blam!-, but they're essentially selling a faulty product and just go "we know, we'll get to it some day". This is just unacceptable at this point. It's been months

Purchased the game this past week, unable to login past the menu without error codes

1 ReplyCommenting here to confirm that I purchased the game on 3/15 and was unable to play due to error code CHICKEN. For data, I am an existing Destiny 2 player with an active account on that game.

Bought the game years ago for xbox one. Been playing it until the end of last year. Wanted to start anew, with a fresh character and ability to unlock all achievements. Booted the game from my second account... Error Chicken. Tried again... still error Chicken. Just for -blam!- and giggles I booted the game with my main account (that I used to play for the last couple of years)... Loads straight to the character select and into the game. No error in sight. Just WTF is going on.

3 RepliesI've been playing since pre ordering the game and playing it from 2014 to present. I had a recent account/ gamertag change, and I set up my current account. I have not been able to play this game as a "new" player, but my wife can due to the fact that she coincidentally did not delete her account. Being aware of a problem and doing something about it are two different things. How are there game developers who have a degree to create a game Halo, Destiny, Destiny 2, but can't fix a simple error code for over a month now? Bungie has put their priorities in making more money, than wasting time on fixing an awesome nostalgic experienced game that generates profit only from the game purchase. Business wise it's smart, but consumer loyalty, and as a good business practice; it's a slap to our faces. Take it back to the basics, remember how Bungie became what it is today... the people bought Halo and Bungie was able to expand and do more. With what we as the consumer has provided to Bungie, all we ask for in return is a simple update/ fix to the new player Error Code Chicken problem. Thank you.

Yet another day, still can't log in. Bungie, you need to do more to address this issue other than "We are aware and investigating this issue".

2 RepliesPretty sure that will never be fixed, they prefer to fix a 1 week issue rather than a 2 month issue who cost 60$, I cant. I asked for a refund to Sony, good luck to you I don't believe it anymore xd

Same thing for me. Bought the digital PS4 version for PS5. Same profile I use for Destiny 2, except I play D2 on PC. Even tried creating a new profile with family sharing enabled, doesn't work either. None of the troubleshooting tips work and after seeing this, it is clear to me that this problem isn't getting resolved today or tomorrow, so I will be requesting a refund from Sony. If they refuse, I will explore alternative legal options. This is theft and I won't accept it
