Dear Bungie I am a 56 year old man who plays this game to escape the frustrations of life. Before I go any further I will address the elephant in the room. I will acknowledge that there are professional streamers, servants and people who have a doctorate in destiny mechanics and these are not the people of which I speak for. I am an average gamer who finds the raised difficulty this season absolutely ridiculous and frustrating. You as the creators built in challenges such as legendary loss sectors as a way of ranking up our status from veteran to elite to whatever the next step is.
As a result you have set the average player up for failure and in doing so you have directly killed the fun of playing. This updated difficulty makes people like me not want to play or try to improve because for people like myself I get slapped down at every turn. This needs to be fixed!!! For those mentioned above they wanted more of a challenge and it is my guess that these are the people you are designing games for. I would put forth that the majority of players are in my category. I am so sure this is fallen upon deaf ears, however, this truth needs to be said. I don’t know what you were thinking when you made this choice and I ask that you think about as you move forward if you want this franchise to continue then the majority of the fan base needs to be heard.

2 RepliesHonestly 100% agree. I'm trying to get a solo flawless lost sector and constantly dying due to the damage & difficulty changes. Overload champs basically 2 shotting you on max resilience & gaining their health back while you can barely damage them in the first place is not the right way. I doubt Bungie will backtrack on this but I can dream. Stuff like this will cause regular players to leave.

So whats your favorite loadout? If its double primary i think its not the game thats making it difficult

Edited by The Hermit IX: 3/20/2023 11:43:25 AMWell I looked at your main. Your using Starfire Protocol on a Void subclass. You’re also running double primaries on all of your classes. You’re not going to do well with that approach. Research proper builds and load outs. I’m a Warlock main so if you need advice, feel free to ask.

1 ReplyOne of the worst decisions Bungie has made!!!! I am persistent and I don’t give up easy, However, when I spend 3 hours trying to achieve the impossible is absolutely stupid Bungie. The first hour and half I got to the final boss in the lost sector no revives and a one hit kill dead! The second attempted was even worse got to the final Boss same lost sector and Bam you guessed it kicked from server all the way back to main load page. Bungie how many times must I tell you your servers SUCK!!!! This not my idea of fun and to think we guardians who play light fall actually paid you to set us for FAILURE!!!! This is no one’s idea of fun when you get the brass ring insight only to die because you stacked the cards against us or your failures to address server issues after being told there is a problem over and over and over and over and over and over again till the community can repeat it verbatim. That is 3 hours of my life I can’t get back nor is the 116 dollars I paid for light fall. The way I see it I paid for quick silver storm and that’s it!! Thank you Bungie for scamming all of us loyal gamers!!!!!!

1 ReplyAgree. I've never had an expansion drive me away from the game before Lightfall lol.

1 ReplyIt’s the same difficulty as D1. A breath of fresh air, honestly.
-
1 ReplyImo the only thing the difficulty changes have actually changed is how free you are in your load out based on skill. If you’re a really good player, you’re still free to use whatever you want. If you are an average player, maybe start using great guns for more difficult content… As an (probably) average player myself… I haven’t found the difficulty changes really that game changing

I'm 60 and I used to do GM's and enjoyed it. Now I struggle through the hero level and feel drained when I get done. I used to love pvp, now I avoid it. I opted out of this season on my account and play a bit on my son's account to help him level up. He is 15 and getting burned out on the game so I guess I dont feel bad. I know it's difficult to balance the game for the sweats, the majority and the casuals but the game feels the most unbalanced that I have ever experienced.

37 RepliesFeel the same way. Nightfalls are out of the question for me. All I get is dunked. Feel bad for anyone I play with. #sorry #tryingmybest #sweatyingtoomuch #fingersslippingoffthejoysticks

1 ReplyNot alone my friend. I had to move the day after it came out. So by the time I was able to play all my friends basically stopped playing cuz it was bad and you can't solo anything because everything titan got nerfed to the ground and I don't have time to spend 3hrs fighting calus with 1/8 of a super that I'm forced to use. Yup I ended up cheesing it under the stairs.

This...100% this.

1 ReplyEdited by Mara Sovereign: 3/19/2023 7:46:55 PMSomething I'd add to your complaints I haven't seen elsewhere yet: High difficulty is one thing, high difficulty in really tight spaces with such enemy densities, is a whole other thing. Generally in the past there was always a default line you could go where enemies wouldn't or couldn't go if you needed to recover, now in many missions that's no longer even an option. This is an issue when dealing with wipe mechanics running solo L or higher. It's "git gud", or rage quit and stop trying. Not a great marketing strategy.

3 RepliesI don't find it particularly hard, but it's tremendously tedious, frustrating, and dull. It's very demotivating. You deal very little damage which drags every fight out, you take a ton of damage, so you constantly have to play defensive which drags every fight out further, and then you can still get smacked around by explosive damage hitting nowhere near you making you die and wait to respawn which drags everything out even further. It's not fun. It's stifling.

It depends who you ask. Some people are okay with it some people are not. If you were to ask me what I think of it my response would be the changes are good it makes people think before they play, but it does need a little balance tuning when the content is 1830 and you are capped at 1815 with no surge or overcharge modifiers active... This opinion is coming from someone who completed legendary Avon
