The Final Shape? A complete mess probably...

First off, I am writing this because of the last straw for me as a titan main - the nerf of Synthoceps with Glaives. I know the hunters and warlocks out there don't care or are gleeful over the nerfing of titans yet again, but I think the decision to do this is indicative of the poor state of the game in general. Over the past year there has been some good new content that has been fun to play, but the quality of the game overall has fallen significantly in the past months. I understand and agree with the idea that power creep has become unacceptable and that the game should have become more difficult, but how this has been implemented is a big mistake. I have been playing the game for a number of years now and have over 2,000 hours in it, averaging 20 - 30 hours per week. This is probably as much as a normal person with a life outside of streaming games on Youtube can manage. I play this game for fun and for me the fun has gone out of it - it's just hard work now. I believe the problems with the game can be traced back to the introduction of the light 3.0 sub-classes. To start off with these seemed like a great introduction to the game, they were fun and gave us new ways to build our guardians. The problem was the power creep started with them - volatility, scorch and jolt gave us ways of wiping out whole groups of enemies with very little skill required. As Bungie wanted to sell us the next expansion or season, they upped the ante each time so that we had to buy in to the 3.0 sub-classes or be irrelevant and under-powered. The addition of weapon crafting was a great idea, but added to the power creep as now we could obtain weapons that tied in with our over-powered 3.0 sub-classes. For some reason, Bungie allowed the power creep to happen in a massive way rather than gently rein in it over time. The game was just better, more fun and better balanced before the light 3.0 sub-classes. Now to Lightfall and Bungie just decides to give us a massive nerf overall in the form of the power level modifiers. The effect of this is to amplify the need for the light 3.0 sub-classes and synergistic weapons. So now the majority of the hundreds of weapons I have collected over the years are under-powered and useless. Of course, Bungie gives us new weapons to grind for (I don't mind this, it's part of the game) and makes these new weapons over-powered once again in order to get us to want them. Problem is, Bungie's testing is now appalling and the game feels more like an early-release alpha than an £80 premium title. The game is full of bugs that just shouldn't be there (did anyone at Bungie actually try resetting the artifact to see if it did work for free?) and clearly the Winterbite exotic glaive was bugged and not properly tested. Did no-one at Bungie play a titan, slap on Synthoceps and see what happened? If that had been done through testing and before release maybe the Winterbite could have been fixed properly. No - it was released in this state and the quick fix was to nerf Synthoceps. Synthoceps with all the previous glaives caused no problems, it was a fun build that was really good to play with in lower to mid tier content. It wasn't that good a build in end game content and didn't need the nerf. The problem was with Winterbite and the power creep that Bungie introduced with that one weapon in order to justify us paying for the expansion. So why don't I just switch to hunter or warlock if I'm so fed up with the nerfs to titans? With only 20 - 30 hours a week to play this game, I can't really actively maintain three characters and do dungeons / raids / grind the seasonal stuff and actually have fun. So my hunter and my warlock don't have decent armour stats, they don't have the few exotic armour pieces on those classes that are worth having and even if I did, I would have to farm 7 ascendant shards for each of them just to masterwork the armour. To get decent exotic armour I would have to farm legend lost sectors with underpowered characters. To get strand, the 1770 armour set and a decent exotic armour piece to go with strand I would have a take on the legendary campaign again, with those weak characters. Yes, I could do it - but it would take me a number of seasons to do it and I would probably never catch up. Bungie's crude attempts to address power creep have really left me nowhere to go in this game. I want to have fun when playing the game and it just isn't anymore. Players like me spend hours farming exotics and creating builds only to have them nerfed. If this happened just once a season it wouldn't be too bad, but for months now Bungie has been changing the goal posts on a weekly basis. I'm tired of trying to keep up with the constant changes. We are used as product testers, then they crudely fix the issues we find. Given these issues and the long list of bugs that the game has, I believe it's in the worst state it's ever been in. Lightfall could have been good, but it's been let down by the implementation. I don't think Bungie has the capacity to sort this mess out - they're too far down the road that they've chosen. I now really doubt I will bother with the expansion next year - the final shape of the game will probably be a complete mess.
