Dear Casual/Solo Players Good Luck Getting To Rank 8
Good luck getting through the absurdly hard, for no reason at all, legend exotic mission or maybe soloing for the legend battlegrounds. LMFAO LETS BUMP UP THE DIFFICULTS SO THAT WAY PEOPLE WILL HATE THEMSELVES TRYING TO DO THE NEW CONTENT OR PROGRESS - Bungie
I could only imagine what you have to do to get to the other ranks...
Edit: only reason I care about the ranks is cause it’s content people always meme that “there’s nothing to do on destiny” and yet here there is this stuff to chase but making it down right miserable to try and achieve the content is just gross

Just did my first master lost sector and managed it solo flawless. I did it at 1821 and felt pretty good until I checked my rank. Didn’t increase my rank one bit. Been stuck at 7 8/20 for two weeks. I can take the hint, Bungie. You no longer want or need my money.

14 RepliesIt's not designed for solo players. So they can get over it. Either play the game as intended (with a fireteam for dungeons, exotic legend difficulty, and raids). If you refuse to play with the community in an online community based game, that's your problem. We've gotten to rank 8 no issues, if my rng was better for pinnacles and I hit 1810 I'd be a rank 9 with the rest of my crew. And rank 10 looks just as easy but requires a GM so we're stuck waiting till mid April. Otherwise we'd all be pushing 11 by the end of this week. It's not hard. Play with friends.

Complete waste of time really just there for show-offs like a lot of other crap in this game. So imma stay at 6 and when next season rolls around imma still be at 6 cause I don't give sh!t.

5 RepliesI don't do raids, so I'll forever be a 7. I've done dozens of GMs and soloed a lot of stuff, every exotic mission in the past, etc. but it doesn't matter anyway. I will not play a single raid ever, period. 7 is just fine.

I probably do not count as casual with 220+ finished GMs, multiple gilded Conqueror or Kingslayer, but I can't even reach rank 7 because of the "Powerful Cap" objective. Done campaign on all three chars (2x legend) by week 2 but since then nearly all of my pinnacle or powerful rewards were weapons. Highest item is a 1792 kinetic and my warlock still has three of the blue 1770 armor pieces from the legend campaign rewards. Just ignore guardian ranks alltogether.

I'll pursue what I want in the game and if that somehow fulfills some arbitrary ranking then it will be pure coincidence.

By that standard alone i should have been bumped to guardian rank 50 as soon as i logged in for LF. No rewards, resets every season, and means absolutely nothing. Just another number for you to chase that means absolutely nothing. Same with commendations, it was supposed to be a way to tell the decent players from the toxic ones, but instead its just another arbitrary thing that just takes up resources and has no legitimate value or purpose.

2 RepliesI got a survey about Lightfall from Bungie. On the question about guardian rank, I told them I didn't care because I'm a casual and narrative-first player and I took one look at the requirements and figured there was little to no chances of me making it past 6. And the fact that it resets every season means little to nothing overall to begin with. The only "use" I see out of it is when someone's a true wet nose, like level 1 through 3. I tend to be more forgiving with them, and not take it personally. Not that I really ever do, buuuuuuut... I give them far, far more leeway.

Guardian ranks and commendations have been rendered completely worthless thanks to Bungies poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor implementation. Most of us could have done both of them far far better than Bungie.

Getting to rank 8 shows you’re a decent player, so you need to do difficult stuff. The mission scales with fireteam size so it’s actually one of the more solo friendly things in the game.
