Synthoceps nerf
I love one of the only good exotics for Titan getting nerfed because for once Titans are allowed to do big damage while fulfilling their class fantasy.
I also double love it that it's only getting nerfed because of an interaction with one bloody glaive.
With this and the Wormgod nerf, I'm starting to think that letting glaives benefit from their damage boosts is the worst thing to ever happen to these exotics.
e: Just did some testing in the EDZ. Synthoceps now gives +50% damage to glaive melee damage, down from +200% yesterday. So a 75% nerf.

1 ReplyI mean you gotta admit that a 200% damage buff under ANY circumstance is insane and is bound to be overpowered. Synthoceps + Glaive is still usable and effective. I main Void Hunter (who has no exotic to buff glaives) and glaive builds carried me through Contest RoN and the legendary campaign. Nerf was totally justified.

Cannon Brace gets nuked instantly, meanwhile Gyrfalcon is allowed to terrorise PvP for months before getting reworked into an S-tier PvE Exotic. Citan's gets nerfed when it was a fair and balanced Exotic that had plenty of ways of being dealt with (fusion rifles, grenades, Witherhoard, Hakke weapons, run away). Titans are forced to use HOIL and Synthos because everything else is mid to bad, now both of those are also getting nerfed in quick succession. Enjoy Severance Enclosure while the Artifact mods for Void are in season and Abeyant Leap because the latter is 100 % on top of Bungie's nerf list next season. As a Titan main, quitting Destiny 2 five months ago was the best decision I ever made in this game. I will never come back to it ever again.

32 RepliesWhat annoys me the most is they are really trying to double down on exotic glaives and want the player base to use them. But then they are like “oh that’s pretty fun that combination is strong, guess we need to get rid of the fun!” At this point i just won’t use that weapon type again. It felt good begin able to destroy things with them. Now they are awful… again. But I guess bungie always over correct and just destroy the fantasy they created.

5 RepliesThe only exotic ever equipped on my Titan for the last 4 or 5 years is Synthoceps. PvE , PvP. It’s ALWAYS on. I rarely saw people using it. For the last year I’ve only used my poor enigma glaive…. For everything. lol Just like that, my whole Titan existence is done.

It’s absolutely pathetic honestly, nerfing these glaves and arms 2 weeks within the release of the new dlc and given the fact that now all glaves are useless now makes it feel like we got stiffed for exotics.

I usually give devs the benefit of the doubt, but this is absolutely unnecessary, lazy, and incompetent balancing. As the OP said, you nerf and entire build because of an interaction with ONE glaive? How -blam!- lazy are you? Just nerf the interaction with that one weapon? Then to push it out with no explanation whatsoever? Like what the -blam!-? You -blam!- owe us an explanation at the very least. If it’s because you’re lazy -blam!- just be honest so I can just stop playing now, seeing as this is the kind of half-assed, poorly thought out bullshit I can expect from the “live service model”.

The fact that its our 2nd exotic nerf into lightfall says alot. All because of vexcalibur and glaives this season. Getting old at this point. I used syntho with solar hammer throw, dosent seem to effect it, just with using glaives. They did it on purpose and than blame us for needing the nerf.

It's sad because it was just a fun build, it was never gamebreaking or whatever they claim, no one is bringing this to the end game content, Bungie is so out of touch. Meanwhile Necrotic + Osteo + Srand Warlock was only disabled from the Raid, they're so biased.

I commented yesterday a few hours before TWAB and Patchnotes "who wants to be bungie is radio silent again on people being unhappy with the game state?" lots of upvotes which made me happy but.... Right before bed (im a night shift worker) I checked to see if the patch notes were out... they had just dropped... I read... and I said outloud "oh people are going to be -blam!- pissed!" Sure a few sorta fixes but everything else was mostly about dumping on the ways people had found to have fun... If I saw it coming, how the hell did they not realize "maybe right this second isn't the time for nerfing -blam!-..." I give them one more week. If they don't admit by then that they listened to the wrong people and have a legit roadmap to get things back on track I think a lot of people are just done. And if most people didn't buy the annual thing that could be a problem because this has been a bridge too far and I think people are ready to burn it.

Beyond disgusted by Bungie's treatment of the Titan class season after season. Exotic synergy is just destroyed but when I play my Hunter and Warlock this problem simply doesn't exist. Strong exotics across the board one can build into.

Bungie couldn't just let the 'power creep' keep going on unchecked so naturally nerfs ensue. It's an almost impossible job to keep the gameplay at the same level whilst creating the illusion of progression and improving the power fantasy. So naturally after a period of time letting things get a little too far ahead they want to reign things back in, hard. So out comes the nerf hammer, but they have no intention of trying to get things down to just a 'reasonable level', no they want to squash things down low enough to allow for growth again. Think of it like this, instead of mowing the lawn once a week to keep the grass at an optimal level they let it grow wild and fallow then hack it all the way down to the dirt ... this keeps the maintenance cycle of mowing the proverbial lawn down to a once a month kind of thing, metaphorically. Demolish stuff towards the end of one game cycle (and at the start of the next) so that throughout the rest of the new cycle stuff can 'grow' again. At least that's my prediction / take on things ... time will tell. Of course they could just hate their players and love effing with people for laughs, who knows x'D
