It’s amazing how quickly they can move when something gives players extra rewards without a ton of work.

Edited by Dave: 4/19/2023 1:16:05 AMThe cheese is patched. When Gahlran jumps off the edge, he respawns. Have to actually play the encounter now

Anything we can exploit to reduce grind will be fixed immediately. It’s all just a big game to increase play time not player experience
-
It ain't fixed lol. Im still farming it with rocket glide. Only 15 secs longer oh no.

9 RepliesEdited by Kildozer666: 3/16/2023 7:32:23 PMThis is such an absurd statement. Duality isn't fixed. They just eliminated cp farming. You can still ride a rocket to the first encounter & exploit it. This user is purposely spreading strife & misinformation. They fixed the invisible bugs & many others in their third patch that released 12 working days after the expansion was released. How fast can you diagnose a bug, formulate a plan, implement said plan, test it, & release the solution?
-
Seems like it would be easier to implement a death wall and remove a cp to stop people from exploiting a boss then fixing the invis bug.
-
Duality bug was here for 3 weeks too my dude.

I have been giving Bungie a lot of criticism recently for the lackluster release of Lightfall, but I think this take is a bit narrow-sighted. Let's first agree that both issues are worth addressing. Having an increase to invis guardians and having a dungeon boss that can be insta-killed are both issues that need to be addressed. If we can't start with that common ground, there is no reasonable discussion to be had. Let's look at how both issues were addressed: - Duality boss was easily cheesable, so there was a band-aid fix put in place to prevent consistently farming the boss. They didn't disable the dungeon, they didn't disable the rewards, they just made it so you can't farm the boss non-stop. If you still want to farm the Duality boss, you absolutely can, it's just going to take an extra 5-10 minutes to get to the first boss each time you want to get a free piece of Artiface armor. To be very clear, this is still broken and Bungie is allowing it because they understand you can't just shut down a piece of endgame content due to a bug. - Guardian models are invisible at a higher rate. In my experience, this is a bug due to players' caches being full due to an increased amount of artifacts in the game after a DLC. I've had this issue since Season of the Splicer and the way to fix it is do a hard reset of your console (or clear your cache if you're on PC). With this happening at an increased rate in Lightfall, Bungie cannot simply do a band-aid fix like they did for the Duality dungeon boss. The only band-aid fix that would even be feasible would be to disable Lightfall content until a fix was found, but even then, you aren't guaranteeing this fixes the issue because we also got free updates such as the change in the mod system. You could simply disable Destiny 2 until it is fixed, but that is equally unreasonable. TL;DR Duality cheese needed to be nerfed, you can still do the cheese, just takes slightly longer. Invis bug got fixed within 3 weeks, which is actually much quicker than I expected given that many players have had this issue pretty consistently for years.

9 RepliesPlayers: “Things are busted for players. Invisibility for players, PS5 crash on public event, the pinnacle isn’t working.” Bungie: “We are listening.” Nerfs duality CP. Players: “Ok that wasn’t an issue for us and it’s easy to get back and beat him but ok. What about the things that are busted?” Bungie: “We are listening.” Prepares to put baby bumpers in to prevent boss falling (just like Atheon and Templar). Players: “Uh. And the busted things that negatively impact us?” Bungie: “We are listening.” Players: “We don’t think that means what you think it means. We feel you are trolling us now.” Bungie: “We are listening.” Players: Oh for -blam!- sake!

9 RepliesThey didn't fix the duality farm they just disabled checkpoint saving. So by that logic they should disable guardian models? What am I missing here.
-
2 RepliesYou all should know the drill by now. Bugs that benefit players - high priority Bugs that are a detriment to players - low priority Been that way for years.
-
24 RepliesMaybe just maybe removing a checkpoint is much much simpler to fix then some of the other bugs. Maybe just maybe these bugs fall into the backlogs of different teams, that have different capacities at this point in the development cycle. But none of this would be understood or known by you the armchair dev, that has never worked and will never work on a product of this scale.

...Well this was poorly timed lol Also your terminal overload loot grab bug is still in the game
-
Last season they never fixed the immune tethers and void buddies. Imagine how quickly the eververse store would get fixed if it was giving out free items?

What if I told you it wasn't fixed and he will still fall off the edge ~ Morpheus

2 RepliesThis is the way

10 RepliesNot to mention they made duality drop garbage armor when it used to be the best source of the best armor in the game and a surefire way to get endgame builds
-
5 RepliesI seem to remember fairly recently that people were able to continuously farm exalted truth by repeatedly exchanging their trials cards and Bungie left it in as a feature for that week. That was to the player's benefit, but I didn't see you thanking them for that, but here you are whining about them (somewhat) fixing a cheese instead of actually playing the game.
-
They still have not fixed invisible bug
-
1 ReplyWhile I agree that Bungie focuses on the wrong things a lot of the time… Fixing duality was likely fairly easy. Probably only 2 lines of code. Fixing the invis players probably had them scouring the entire commendation system for the cause. Not saying they’re good at keeping a balance, but the vast majority of these negative “fixes” people point to about Bungie’s response are generally very easy to do on their end.

Duality wasn't a bug, it was a strategy -
Really thought that they would’ve at least fix the invisible thing. They’re probably just going to blame the gamers and say it’s their fault, just like how they blame people for their crappy servers.
-
Probably two completely issues with separate ways that differ in complexity. What do mere gamers like you and me know about managing a video game …..nothing ! So many different variables that could be involved 🤷🏼♂️
-
Priorities, am I right? 🤡
-
That's right, totally agree. I wrote a post a few days ago commenting on the same thing, and it's tiring. I haven't been able to enter the commendations page since the launch of Lightfall, because it gives me an error and the game closes, and with today's patch I'm still the same. But yes, the bugs that benefit disappear quickly. Regrettable.

3 RepliesThis is due to the fact that the duality farm is a much easier task and a server end change rather than an update or a fix. It seems there are changes that bungie can easily implement on their end that don't require full server change or client side updates. In duality it is as simple as removing a checkpoint and changing the drops so that they allow for low end armor. The ultimate fix will be for Ghalran to not fall off the map, like many other bosses in the game, but that will be a full update that will require more time to implement. The Invisible guardians isssue is more of a client side issue, based off the fact that resetting the game/console fixes the issue temporarily, and therefore requires a update to both the servers as well as how it runs on individual consoles/pc's. I know that it seems as though Bungie is targeting things that are "beneficial" for players, but they generally fix things as they can and this was just an easy exploit to quickly make a work around for the moment.

3 weeks? Someone woke up very positive today. I was thinking 3 months, but let us hope it is your scenario and not mine.
