Rohan, the murals, major reveal for Witness?

There are three murals where Rohan died but let’s discuss the central one for now. It’s imagery is interesting, especially considering they chose to have it as the centerpiece and also force you to see it for an extended period of time, when Rohan died. So it seems very intentional that they wanted us to see it clearly. https://youtu.be/vbk4KJe3EtA Jump to 3:31:40 to see it again. Bottom to top The Witness partially split in two, both parts have Ghosts, with people in between them. A conflict between two people. Two half faces, one scary one serene, watching. Then people sitting around a table. My first impression is it’s a short summary of the conflict But the Witness on both sides? Connected to Ghosts? Then I think of the image of the Witness, when it’s in space. How from behind they make it look like two triangles. A white triangle pointing down, the smoke coming from its head. A black triangle, it’s clothing flowing down and out. Dark and Light united. Not many ideas come to mind, except one. It was made by them. And i think the bottom image explains why. Where did the knowledge of the gods, of powers and their philosophies come from? I’ve posed the idea that the Witness was an entity that escaped the Garden. Hence why it knows things and has power. But if it was Dark aligned this whole time and it’s so Uber powerful….how on earth did it not win sooner? I’m thinking the two sides manifested an avatar to represent both sides. To give them a physical presence in the cosmos, to safeguard themselves from being attacked, perhaps why they don’t intervene directly. Almost like an umpire, gives the rules to both teams and sits back to judge. While the gods sit in the owners box and watch, waiting to see who is right. Then I recall what the witness said, about being tired of the lies and suffering and wanting to end it all. Would you enjoy endless eons of watching one/two spoiled brats use the universes as a punching bag to prove a point? Blaming the Gardner makes sense too. Because she was the one who changed the rules against the objection of the Winnower. It’s objection was she would create untold suffering by prolonging the end. While we can all agree the Gardner was right to do so, she is the cause for all the undue suffering that wouldn’t have existed without her intervention. It is, factually, a correct position to take. If you’re a heartless monster. Thoughts?

  • Every play through I couldn't help but notice those murals, I definitely feel like it's a prophecy just like in vow of the disciple. Part of it seemed to tell what would happen in lightfall, the rest, I assumed, predicts what will happen during the next few seasons. I've come to believe that the Witnesses' final shape is to combine the physical world and the ascendant realm into one realm. This makes sense with the concept of the veil and the new revelation that light governs physical while the dark governs psychic. Also keep in mind that this would bring the black garden to the physical world. Like you, I suspect the Witness was in the black garden. I think it is the sentient, physical manifestation of the Egregor fungi. I made a post some time ago discussing all the connections/evidence and that he even resembles a few different types of irl fungus.
