New Lore in a Ghost Shell gives us insight to the augmentation process that Cloudstriders undergo. There is more to the process than we thought and it is quite horrifying and really solidifies the sacrifice in volunteering to become a Cloudstrider. We can finally see the process that happened to Nimbus before they emerged as a Cloudstrider. We can really see how they are really the antithesis to guardians.
