Ok, I usually try not to complain and take things as they are but I really got to ask this. WHY DID BUNGIE THINK IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO NERF RESILIENCE?!
Seriously, there was nothing wrong with it before and even with a hundred plus resilience there were plenty of enemies that could still Jack slap you if you were not careful, now those same enemies can one shot you effortlessly.
I did not truly feel the impact of the nerf until I did this week's Nightfall a few times and oh my gosh it was annoying. It felt like being an aluminum can getting crushed by a Cabal's heel over and over again and that was WITH a hundred plus resilience!
Why did people want this? Why did people complain about being able to survive in a game where we're constantly being shot at? Did they want everyone to be weak just to satiate their masochism? Why? Just, Why?

13 RepliesWith Woven mail you get like 85 damage resistance, that's too much.
-
2 RepliesI think this is 100th post asking. I’m seeing the same explanations. If you’re crying over a 10% nerf that took 40% damage reduction down to 30%. There’s not much anyone can do to help you.

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
They took a little off the top and added abilities that give free resiliance, I feel stronger now than I did before LF -
25 RepliesThe difference between now and then is like 10%, 10% is not a big difference. Simply use the cover the game provides and play smarter, you'll be fine.
-
Not overly fussed regarding the nerf to resistance, but the incresed cost was just plain dumb all class linked stats should be 1 for 5 and 3 for 10 both recovery and resilience should match mobility.
-
4 RepliesSo have you just not used tier ten resilience, and woven mail on top of damage resist mods? We're more tankier now than before the "nerf". Get real.
-
Because woven armor is easy to get, so they were like "let's break every other class so this one won't be over powered." As I have stated numerous times, power creep goes both directions, and wike being over powered will make players lose interest eventually, power crunch will make people lose interest *now*.
-
6 RepliesBecause 40% damage reduction was too strong. If I'm being honest, 30% is still too strong.
-
Edited by Spicy Water: 3/14/2023 9:02:26 PMBecause it was almost objectively better than every other stat in the game, if anything they shouldn’t have buffed it as much as they did; why they doubled it from the initial 20% to 40% in Haunted instead of going for 30% at that time I may never know. I guess hindsight is 20/20, that or by making it meta for the first time in the game, people still recognize that it’s worth putting points into, where if they had brought it to 30% in Haunted people might have overlooked it.
-
1 ReplyIt was too strong so they nerfed it. 40% damage reduction at all times is rather strong
-
2 RepliesBecause they want us to get 1-tapped in patrols
-
Which is why everyone's cheeks collectively clench when bungie starts talking about nerfs. It is always too much for no reason. They wanted resilience to feel less mandatory, so they balanced the difference in levels. Understandable and reasonable change. Then nerf max resilience, increase the cost of resilience mods, and then proceed to make every enemy a higher level than you, forcing you to run max resilience.
-
Why should resilience be the only good thing out of the top three category why should titans only have the best skill to synergize with it was need to be nerfed just because there is no since in running high mobility what hunters synergize with or high recovery what warlocks synergize with when the benefits of resilience out way them

2 RepliesAsk Salt. He wanted it.

Edited by thatdudeEd54: 3/14/2023 2:03:21 AMIts not even that bad of a nerf smh. Its still the best stat for pve. Wanna feel even more tanky, make a tank build with overshields or Woven Mail. If I remember correctly, The Solar Titan bonk build is still pretty top tier
-
I don’t have a problem with the old 40% buff on its face, but it being tied to a class stat is just way too centralizing. You only have 4 stats you really care about as a titan since resil is your class ability stat. Hunters and warlocks need those 4 and their own class’ ability stat. It’s still significantly better now than mobility and recovery, but at least you won’t feel as much like you’re shooting yourself in the foot by not shoving 100 into resil
-
So many people on this thread spitting out of the side of their necks wasting energy on here thinking they know what resilience does and absolutely proving to me how insane these posts are. OP has the right of it. Resilience nerf AND recovery nerf were both unnecessary.
-
Because it became optimum for every situation to run 100 resilience. The fact is that it still is this way even after the nerf and wouldn’t be surprised if it’s nerfed to 25% in the future.
-
Because 40% DR for free was pretty dumb. Resilience already gave yah more HP, reduced stasis break out damage, reduced flinch, helped with Titan class ability cool down. It was a pretty stacked stat. I don't understand people honestly.
-
Edited by DuBChiri2: 3/13/2023 9:17:06 PMPersonally, I think it was the right decision because of how great the gap was between mid and high resilience. Where they went wrong with it though, is it doesn't feel like they lowered enemy damage output to compensate. There's a REALLY big problem with balancing when the only way to comfortably play difficult content, is if you flat out negate substantial portions of damage.

My tinfoil hat theory is the following: They want people to be frustrated after buying the game because their servers are so bad, that they need people to quit 🤔
-
46 RepliesOn average I run between 10 and 30 resilience. Nothing more. Never had a problem
-
I wouldn't have a problem with the resilience nerf if they made the middle tiers of resilience a bit better.
-
8 Replies40% damage reduction just for putting your stats at 10 resilience made using any other stat completely useless. Heck I feel 30% is still too much right now. I would drop it down to 10%, resilience already grants flinch resistance and stasis resistance on top of the 30% damage reduction. This stat alone is part of the reason why bungie made the game harder
-
4 Replies30% damage resistance is no joke. Would you rather we went back to resilience being a useless stat unless you’re on Titan?
-
2 RepliesThe beef is minimal at best, and it was down to slow down the Titan class, even though this is only going to just slightly hurt the titans barricade’s. Plus most mods can boost your resilience to ten, unless you are a Titan in which for some reason someone at Bungie really love when Hunter main, and Titan main get on each others throats, and make it easier for hunters to get recovery, resilience, or melee, while titans can easily get strength, recovery and mobility, and as for warlocks, idk but it feels like Bungie hates you guys.
