We killed the final boss of the Root of Nightmares twice and did not get the completion. We even got a defiant engram from the kill and a teammate got the ada-1 raid bounty completed.
We spent 2 sessions after launch playing for 20+ hours, one of our teammates had to leave after the second kill without completion due to a scheduling issue. This is unfair and I believe needs to be rectified by at the very least giving us the "day 1" 48 hour emblem. Which is why we bothered going through all of this in the first place. We went through the whole raid as a team and the same team was the one that killed the boss.

Please do the right thing Bungie and rectify this, otherwise it will have been a huge waste of time for all parties involved.

7 RepliesHello. Thanks for contacting us. Players must successfully complete all encounters of the Root of Nightmares Raid during the contest mode window and claim the associated Horticulturist Triumph in order to earn the "A Good Night's Sleep" emblem reward. If the Triumph was not earned and claimed, players do not qualify for the emblem. While players may appear to defeat Nezarec, part of the challenge was to complete the encounter itself, too, which includes the wipe mechanic. Teams who died to the wipe mechanic before they were able to fully defeat Nezarec would result in an unsuccessful clear. Additionally, factors such as poor connection, joining raids in progress, or not successfully receiving rewards for all encounters may have contributed to completion ineligibility.

Can confirm this is also happening on PC. I got a weapon upgrade and a defiant engram. Another teammate got the bounty clear. Clear didn't count for team. Screenshot here https://imgur.com/a/JhUBw0X

Same thing happened to my team. With it happening to so many people I hope something can be done about it.
