Emergency Reinforcement is the mod. ER is Protective Light except it requires 3 stacks now.
However, it's as strong or stronger than it's ever been.
Here's recipe to get the most out of it:
ER
Stacks on Stacks (2 charges for every one orb)
Charged UP (1or2) [Edit: The better play here is to run applicable resistance mods over Charged UP like Sniper Resist, Void Resist, etc. Adding stacks to ER beyond 3 doesn't increase the potency only the duration and 5 secs, imo, is already enough time to get safe].
Credit to @DHawk12 for the correction
[Way(s) to make orbs]
That's it. Try to run high resilience too... but if you specialize your mods for durability, ER specifically, you'll barely notice a difference... except the enemies will take longer to die until you level up.
Don't try to get fancy with your kit if you're struggling to stay alive.
Don't use dmg mods...
Don't use decay mods...
Another tip, orbs are everywhere..."Better Already" [Boots] is another S tier mod for survivability.
Tldr: 1. Specialize build for ER [chest] 2. Tier 10 Resilience or as high as you can get 3. Better Already [boots]
I'm telling you, get closer to hard cap... use my advice, the game will be just as easy as it was before.

Edited by jhermannITJ: 3/11/2023 3:59:33 AMI made an edit with a correction - ER's potency does not increase with additional stacks of armor charge, only the duration & as such... it's better to run dedicated resist mods (Sniper, etc.) instead of Charged UP. Thanks to DHawk12 for the correction.

Edited by Mara Sov’s Step Bro: 3/10/2023 4:06:53 AMER does nothing for 1-2 hit kills. Destiny doesn’t have health gating so when you’re 1 hit your shields don’t break - you just die. If your shields don’t break the effect doesn’t proc. Also better already sucks. Recuperation is what you use. Better already just starts health regen which is useless when you’re being hit because it stops regenerating

4 RepliesWe should not have to rely on a stupid mod to unnerf our guardian to the point it was 2 weeks ago and only get the effect after working for it for one single engagement. Bungie is so out of ideas that they had to make us weak again and therefore all the activities taking way longer. It's not difficult, its plain boring, the "power fantasy" is gone, you gotta play like a little wiener sitting back. It's just not a fun playstyle and i rather not engage with endgame anymore than play like that.

Good stuff helping community out

2 RepliesUseful info. It might have helped me avoid my burn out. Still, having a build that makes every other ability take longer regenerate sounds boring, but buildcrafting is supposedly amazing.

Great post. Nice to see a post trying to help others. Upvoted

1 ReplyProtective light was 10% though after nerf. Or do you mean before nerf PL?

11 RepliesEdited by BraddyBo: 3/9/2023 9:39:22 AMThe problem is that it’s only activated upon your shield breaking and uses ALL the armor charges. I’m not sure how much dmg reduction it grants or the duration but I don’t think it’s worth using. If it only used up to 3 charges then I would use it. The build I like right now uses 4 charges so losing them all removes my 2x surge damage and my +30 discipline/recovery/strength mods.
