After extensive testing, I've discovered the following:
The Leg Armor Mod "Void Weapon Surge" and the Artifact Perk "Void Weapon Channeling" share the same buff, "Void Weapon Boost" and they interact as follows:
1. The activation with the higher stack count will overwrite the other.
2. If the stacks are the same (eg. 2 surge mods and 2 ready abilities), the first one applied will be the one with priority.
3. If the priority lies with the Void Weapon Surge leg armor mod, everything works as planned.
4. HOWEVER, if the Void Weapon Channeling artifact perk achieves a higher stack count, or activates before the Void Weapon Surge leg armor mod while they share the same stack count, it will take priority, and when it runs out, the Void Weapon Surge armor mod will NOT WORK until you let all of your armor charges fully deplete and get the buff applied again. Refreshing the armor charges does NOT grant you the Void Weapon Surge back.
Conclusion: Void Weapon Surge basically doesn't work until you afk for between a few (if you only had 1 charge) or up to almost a minute, as long as you've activated a stronger or started with an equal power Void Weapon Channeling buff.
This is very important as this bonus damage would be important for long damage windows where you can't constantly get void weapon kills but want to keep the damage buff active.

Unfortunately, they won't fix this before next season.

1 ReplyThis is 100% accurate. I was spending a lot of time trying to figure out why I couldn't get the artifact perk to proc after reworking my slotted mods and this was the kicker. Thank you so much for posting this.
