This applies to console players for the most part.
The total yearly price for a console player to play is 160 dollars or euros depending on your region.
That consists of the Deluxe edition of the yearly dlc release and the total yearly price of PS Plus or Xbox Live subscriptions.
That sounds incredibly extreme for a game that virtually is supposed to go forever.
We went from having to pay for Online subscriptions and the Dlcs that’s fine. Then you added seasons… then dungeon keys… where does it end? You could take out the online subscriptions requirements since you added cross play but you didn’t…
You could make the seasons drop silver so a player only has to buy one season unlocking the rest by playing the game… like many games do…but you didn’t….
You have lost a ton of players just from the sheer volume of what you have to spend to be up to pace with the game. While the game is at its highest point as far as gameplay goes.. unfortunately so is it’s pricing… you know you can easily do these changes and your player base is going to skyrocket but your greed is in the way.

88 Replies1. The only blind sub fees are charged by Sony and MS. Bungie has nothing to do with that. The cost is also spread out across all games. Not fair to blame Bungie for that. 2. This game is supplied with content and maintained like an MMO. Most games like this charge a monthly sub fee of $12-15 to cover the costs. Destiny is actually cheaper to play than most of these games. 3. The games that tried to undercut Destiny on cost to the player are all dying out. Because the devs aren’t making any money: Anthem; Marvels Avengers; The Division 2 is on life support right now. Not having had an expansion in 4 years.

You don't need xbox live for destiny 2
-
Honestly for me I don’t really have many other games I’m interested in to play so I just keep up to date with destiny. Even then the ones i am interested in are either I’ve completed them, haven’t come out yet / are still in development.

Edited by Infamous067: 3/8/2023 7:43:01 PMCompared to other games, its actually not bad. If you really hate paying for the game then just stop playing it. Why don’t you go try playing overwatch? They are selling 3 one punch man skins for 40$. Skins that you cant change colors or modify in any way. Content wise you get one map every 6 months and one new character every 6 months too and the store actually gets updated way more than destiny’s eververse. Im not gonna lie and say destiny is perfect but I know for a fact the game is in a far better spot than most games now a days. 100$ a year is actually not so bad considering we get access to new raids, dungeons are included and the seasonal content we get to experience every season on top of new exotics, shaders and new armor sets every season. Don’t even get me started on how generous bungie is when it gets to bright dust, go ahead and check to see how much overwatch coins you get every season lol

2 Replies$100 a year is worth it.
-
1 ReplyYou know if they read this the bungie team will some how see. ‘You’re right we aren’t charging for more separate things’. When they ‘listen’ they seem to hear the opposite of what’s actually said half the time.

These posts are the best. Sit back and watch apologists desperately try to twist facts.
-
1 Replythis game is paid for like an mmorpg , but is doesn't even have a 5th of the content of one
-
people would accept it more if most of it wasn't just repackaged crap from old seasons, but it was because of space they did that wasn't it...
-
9 RepliesReally have to point this out, 160 for a whole -blam!- year worth of entertainment. Isn't that much, face the facts. A movie with the lady and kiddo is 75 bucks, night out at the bars 150-300, going to a fast food/restaurant is 30-60, in house movie rentals are 9 bucks and going plinking by myself is upwards of 80 bucks. Gaming is one of the cheapest things to do. Even if destiny is on the higher end of gaming, it's still cheaper then most entertainment based products in life right now. Even watching TV can be costly, with all the streaming services.

10 RepliesIt's an MMO, and most of them charge like $10 per month to play them. That's $120 per year for a single game. This ends up being about the same in the end.

I love the "GeT a JoB" comments
-
2 RepliesI play WoW and ESO. This is cheap in comparison.
-
Get a job
-
6 RepliesThat’s 13$ a month. 1 hour of work for any person. Not that much if u ask me.
-
1 ReplyYes because some players will suck on bungies weinky even if they release garbage expansions, etc. Bungie knows this. Bungie charges a lot for cheap expansions. Spending less, making same amount of profit back.

Nice article, just one point though, you don't need Xbox live to play any part of destiny its free.I play on Xbox and pay nada.so goggle this up for yourself.A fool and his money are easily seperated

2 RepliesMost of these weebs fail to see your point. I agree and even if you’re paying for ps plus and the game you’re paying $17.50 a month. $17.50 for a mediocre game and extremely subpar maintenance. I didn’t buy this hot garbage cuz I got tired of supporting a crappy cause. They don’t even deserve $5 a month.

Edited by Wheelaa1: 3/7/2023 8:11:09 PMRecycled content, reskins, resold. How many times has Gally been locked behind a new paywall. Budget tier dress sim. Budget underwhelming nasty greedy insidious entity.

Do you have any idea how much it costs to license those Spanx corsets the cloud striders wear? I haven't seen muffin tops like that since the low-rise epidemic of the early Noughties, except now its being done with mom-jeans. Do they need fewer ribs or something? I get second-hand suffocation every time i see one. How do ya'll expect anyone to live up to these unobtainable body standards?
I think I covered them all, if not feel free to add on
That’s less than 50 cents a day. Pretty inexpensive hobby, if you ask me.
-
I personally think when You buy the content on a account, that account should have that DLC unlocked regardless if Your playing on a PS5, PC or Xbox. You should not have to buy all the content a second or third time because You want to play it on PC as well.
-
I know on Xbox you don't need xbox live to play D2 Multi-player. I think any game free2play on Xbox doesn't need live.
-
Its 7.88€ or 8.33$ a month for: 4 Seasons 2 Dungeons 2 Raids Campaign Trials of Osiris Every one here likely spends more on junk food or fast food in a week then the amount needed to play this game for a month.
-
29 RepliesIt varies from player to player, but personally? $150AUD for a year of content is a steal for the player, 4 seasons, a campaign, 2 raids 2 dungeons and a bunch more gear and qol changes, absolute bargain
