New enemy type that can grab you through the wall and pillars when trying to escape
-
they just wanna talk with you about your cars extended warranty
-
3 RepliesTry suspending them with strand, it makes them completely immobile for 10 seconds or so
-
Blinding GL and retrofit escapade make quick work of them. Thank god for my auto loading/blinding/disruption break GL. It is void and has been my go to energy weapon.
-
You can freeze them You can disoriente them You can string them up You can [do whatever the hell tractor cannon does] them
-
3 Replies2 words: Disorienting Grenades.

I find them to be a nuisance more than anything else. Strand suspend makes the normal ones a joke and the boss ones that are immune to that behave just like the normal ones and are easy to just jump around and shoot. Their “shining moment” comes in the final fight where they have their highest kdr from suppressing and then knocking guardians off the edge of the map. Hive lightbearers were better enemies and I even find champions to be less annoying. Tormentors were scary the first time they appeared but then as soon as you figure out a strategy to fight them they aren’t hard just annoying even without stasis, strand, or suppression. I expected them to be scarier on legendary than classic but I couldn’t tell a difference between the two and with the added bonus of shackle grenades I think I died less in the final boss fight on legendary than I did on classic.

22 RepliesI’ve seen a lot of praise for them and I don’t get it. They’re too tanky and that grab move they have is BS. It doesn’t help that they specifically designed the encounters to be frustrating with one or two of them in a confined area. Lucent Hive were so much better.

1 ReplyTractor cannon is very effective with them
-
I don’t see the issue with them. Pretty easy enemy to defeat.
-
3 RepliesStasis wants to know your location.

"New enemy type that can grab you through the wall and pillars when trying to escape" that you can freeze or suspend. Finished your sentence for ya
-
These guys are straight a**holes, and I hate that they even were created, but it seems they can be affected by about anything. I used stasis and it was a significant help. I can only speak for regular Campaign though. Got to the first Tormentor on mission one in the Legend campaign and said "Nope!" and promptly quit that plan. I'm not playing to stress out that badly.

Try any form of crowd control..

Just suspend them and they are easy to deal with.

Edited by max: 3/6/2023 6:47:38 AMI don't really mind this kind of enemy, but not if they combine it with arbitrary power cap, their tankiness is horseshite
-
Edited by Flake: 3/6/2023 5:02:59 AMThe homming void attack is the only thing that bothers me, other than that they weren't so bad to deal with. Blinding nades work like a charm, or just tangle them
-
Ur acting like guardians don’t act like this
-
2 RepliesHopefully they go nowhere like Hive Guardians.
-
3 RepliesYou can blind them. If you have a blinding GL, that will work
-
grab move isn't too bad as long as you keep your distance. it's the void attack that drives me crazy. goes around corners, suppresses and damages you. all you can do is run. I agree with others that the lucent hive were so much better. tormentors just feel lazy by comparison.

He's got void powers

Blinding nades

Jump to a high spot then to a lower spot. Super easy to killed hive gaurdians were far better because they could actually counter ,tormeters dont the do the samething over and over again.
