At this point Bungie is just creating problems to have the community riot, then reverts them to get praised for it, why? Idk
Proof?
See Sunsetting.

4 RepliesThe new mod system is way better. I don't get why people don't like it. I guess some folks just have a hard time build crafting.

They better not. This new mod system is way better than what we had before

15 RepliesEdited by InfernalDegree0: 3/2/2023 10:10:05 PMThe new mod system is a buff. Change my Mind. Edit: I gave a pretty thorough explanation of why I think this is the case in another forum thread, putting it below:
I think the new mod system is actually a pretty substantial buff that players simply haven't found the right ways to optimize. Instead of needing to deal with multiple types of elemental wells, you only need to deal with Orbs of Power which not only give Armor Charge, but Super energy as well. On top of that, Orbs of Power are easier to make than ever. For example, let's compare the new Weapon Surge mod build to the old Font of Might mod build. With the old Font of Might build, you could get up to 30 seconds of bonus damage if you ran Font of Might with 4 Elemental Time Dilation mods, the most efficient way of doing this would be to have a Solar Warlock pop a Well of Radiance with Supreme Wellmaker and use a Stasis Power Weapon on a Stasis Subclass to get the bonus damage. You could use other elements, but you would need to sacrifice an Elemental Time Dilation mod in order to make a way to spawn a Well of your element. Now in the new system, a Warlock can pop a Well of Radiance to make 3 Orbs of Power to give you 3 stacks of Armor Charge. This gives you 30 seconds of bonus damage WITHOUT needing to use a specific weapon type to match the Elemental Well and WITHOUT needing to pick a subclass that matches your weapon and WITHOUT needing to use any Elemental Time Dilation mods. On top of that, if anyone on your team uses a super such as Golden Gun for extra damage during a DPS phase, the Orbs of Power they generate extend the effect. The build I used almost exclusively throughout the Legendary Lightfall Campaign was centered around grenades on a Void Warlock, and it was incredibly potent. Firepower and Arc Siphon allowed my grenades and Ikelos SMG to shower me in Orbs, then 2x Grenade Kickstart allowed me to have grenades up nonstop. Pair that with 2x Ashes to Assets and I had my super up quite frequently as well when paired with the number of orbs I was generating. Give it a week, you will see all of your favorite YouTubers post videos about how to make insane builds with the new system, which is funny, because many on the forums are blaming these same people for the 'nerfs' we get to the game.
I like the new system

New mod system is definitely bad IMO, and you can't do nearly as much with it as you could with the old system. All the cool, build-making mods removed, along with breaking a heaping stack of previous mod+exotic interactions. The biggest problem of the old system was strictly the acquisition and they fixed that. It was not difficult to understand unless you were, like, ten years old. For a minor to negligible increase in ease of use, we have sacrificed immense actual power in buildcrafting. Everything that's cool now comes from the seasonal artifact, and that... is... terrible.

It won’t be reverted
-
I’m already adapting and enjoying the new system so far. Is it perfect? No, but as I said, I’m adapting. What I would like to see, would be a mod for orbs that works like bountiful wells did for elemental wells.
-
All they really need to do is bring back a few of the mods that didn’t make the cut in a revised form that matches the new system.
-
2 RepliesSunsetting was Bungie’s attempt to solve the nerf/buff cycle. We didn’t like it, they got rid of it. Now the community constantly complains about the nerf/buff cycle.
-
I kinda miss energy converter, but this shake up of the mod system is good for this game. Im having a blast using it with my Strand hunter.
-
8 RepliesNobody would praise Bungie if they brought back armor affinity, bud.
-
For me. The only thing it messed up was my Titan stasis builds as well as hunter knifes. Other than that I can still do most of the same -blam!-.

At this point Bungie is just creating problems to have the community riot, then reverts them to get praised for it, why? Idk Proof? See Sunsetting.
Where is my elemental shards mod....
-
They wont revert a mod simply because you cant adjust to it lol.
-
They will but you know it won’t be until a month before The Final shape release. That’s generally when Bungie “listens”.
-
3 RepliesI like the new mod system better. Also no elemental armor is a big plus for me
-
61 RepliesBye cause gamers know what they like but don’t have a clue what they want… This system is FAR simpler to use than the old one. People are just mad that their builds got broken up.
-
1 ReplyThere’s no way it’s getting reverted. Warmind cells are too similar to tangle and there were a lot of redundant mods in the old system. We’re going to have to wait a year or more for this to get fleshed out unfortunately

Edited by Hawpy: 3/3/2023 12:44:33 AMI think there are both pros and cons to the new system, but Bungie said they wanted to scale back ability spam and they would appear to have achieved that; as such, it's not so much a shortcoming of the new system, it's more their intended result. The general simplification of mods into element-based ones instead of weapon-type-based ones is a positive IMO, as is the removal of armour affinities. The removal of Artefact mods from armour and turning it into an extra slot is nice, and the +3 stat slot for Artifice Armor is not much but surprisingly useful. Mods being generally cheaper is a huge positive, particularly for people who like to use Snipers, GLs and Rockets, whose previous mods were egregiously expensive. I think the issues with the new mod system, aside from a collective, general unfamiliarity with it, are the result of two changes. 1) Lack of ways to get Armor Charge - while converting everything to Orbs of Power is fine, not being able to kickstart your gameplay loop through the likes of Stasis Shards or multikills with a particular weapon type is a huge loss. 2) Not including equivalents to Bountiful and Seeking Wells - pretty much every build utilising Elemental Wells was using one or both of these mods. Seeking Wells lowered the mental overhead on looking for the things and also made things a bit friendlier to ranged builds; Bountiful Wells enabled you to have a high uptime on all of your abilities, even if you only invested into one, but was offset by the need to reuse other mods in place of ones providing extra benefits. Having every loop start with generating an Orb and running over to collect and then do it again until you have enough charges it makes it painfully clear how good we had it before. The changes vastly favour the use of Ammo Finders, Reserves, Scavengers etc over those that augment builds.

I love warmind stuff and the removal of warmind cells along with them killing Rasputin and taking my dog away from me, that broke me man
-
My only real complaint honestly is that it there’s no seeking orb type of mod but I’m sure it’ll be added later on , overall I do like the new system though.

Edited by ProbablyJosh: 3/3/2023 8:47:52 AMDon't think they'll revert it but I do think they might re enable to static buffs from mods like radiant light, powerful friends ect. For the extra +20 on the given stat WITHOUT having to have armour charge active. At least I'd really like them to do that lmao Also I can still spam trip mines like an a hole on hunter, can still spam fusions on warlock so I mean *shrugs* so far 2/3 of my builds still work fine hahaha

The new system is great
-
Keep the new system, idc but give me my damn elemental mods back
-
2 RepliesI like the old system, but the new system makes my builds far stronger. So I hope it doesn’t get reverted.
-
They’re too full of themselves to revert it. At Bungie HQ’s, their stool smells like roses.
