Can you imagine playing Batman if you could only swing 10 times every half hour? Grapple is garbage and Bungle has conned us again. They can’t do anything without screwing it up. No fun allowed is the company motto.

1 ReplyIf we had damage resistance while swinging it would be more useful. As it is now it will be useless in high end content because enemies are aimbots even when you’re moving fast. If I could replace my melee with grapple instead of my grenade, I might use it. Why would I sacrifice a grenade that can completely incapacitate champs, wyverns, and even hydras for some Spider-Man swinging? It’s just not practical.

6 RepliesThere is a fragment that grants grenade energy for dealing damage. Max out your discipline, equip the mods that grant grenade energy for dealing melee damage or the one that grants a small amount of energy after using the grenade. and you can now basically spam your grapple on both pve and pvp. I think you guys gotta play the game and actually unlock the fragments before losing your mind. Im a warlock and I already made a poison build where Im constantly spamming both the grapple AND the melee. Once I get the fragment that gives me grenade for dealing damage ill probably never use my weapons again in pve lol.

I don't use grapple. Not going to be useful in endgame content for pve outside of jumping puzzles in a raid or something. Grapple wasn't the sell. Strand was the sell. Strand is Very Good. All the other subclasses feel very one dimensional with all the fragments. Strand can go many different ways.

The fragment called thread of generation is a requirement until they adjust the cooldowns for pve. They only need to be that long in PvP because it would get oppressive real quick.

I have to say, on my hunter im having a blast with the grapple. I find Strand a very fun way to play and the new mod system really adds to the fun factor.

I feel like there should be another verb called bind. When grappling a target, swinging around the target produces an increasing debuff to large targets that slows movement, rate of fire, and accuracy. They created an ability that let's you do a star wars style loop around big targets round and round and round but with no payoff... It's really time bungie stopped making bosses immune to abilities. It feels so stupid. "I'm going to freeze the boss! - haha not so fast for I am immune to thermodynamics!"

I understand grapple having a high cool down for pvp, but for pve there should be little to no cooldown

The most surprising thing about the little bit I've used strand so far is that, not exactly sure how to say it, but I was surprised how much it doesn't feel like the game is just doing the grappling for you. Which is a good thing imho. I guess what I'm trying to say is every grapple doesn't just feel the same and there appears to be a skill curve of some type to it.

Pretty Bad when 343's Halo Infinite brand new grapple mechanic is better in every single way than Bungie's.(ok, calling it new is silly) I think the big Difference is 343 [i]actually tries to listen, and actually still wants to make a good game.[/i] Bungie (misLeadrship) considers it win/win if they lower the bar and people still buy.

Honestly, I was shitting on Strand so hard to my friends while playing the legend campaign. Now, I like it a lot. Obviously not as much as the previous subclasses. But I’m having a blast suspending with grenades. I don’t care for the grapple, but I’m really, really enjoying suspending enemies everywhere, constantly.

I was hoping Batman and got silly string instead. If it wasn't forced on me I could just ignore it, like I do stasis, but no, old Bungle just can't let us play how we want. Every idea they have they think is genius and if we complain it's because we don't understand their brilliant vision. Sick of it.

Not only that but the grapple just feels bad and has inconsistent physics more often that not. I can't tell you how often the grapple would suck me straight down to the ground instead of pulling me up or rather than pull me to a target I'd just get pushed away from it despite still being latched on. I rather just use the Stasis 2.0 grenades. Its sad honestly.

Reduce the thundercrash titan in your fireteam to a grabble orb
