Bungie, was LF a scam all along?
I mean just rewatch your reveal Vidoc from August 2022. It is all a bunch of lies now. How these people were sitting there telling fantastic stories about now this would be this and that and none of it is actually in the game? How? Are they good with this?
Ok, points.
1. Verticality.
It is nonexistent. You even cant jump on top of a building because there are invisible walls. Hell even in areas connecting one hub to another you cant jump on roofs - it tells you to come back in 5 secs. And it was your major selling point for strand - jump around the city. There are nowhere to jump.
2. City under siege.
Who's under siege? 1 little guy who is just there for shits and giggles? There are cabal fighting vex. Who's under siege then? Cabal or vex?
3. Bombastic.
Guys, even one scene form the first episode of WQ campain (where guardian was shot out of a cannon) was more bombastic than any of this. You even screw up a tank section. How can we make tank battle fun? Oh, throw 3 thrashers at them, hahaha. -blam!-.
4. Stakes high.
What stakes. Story haven't moved even one tiny bit. There was nothing at stake. Everything happened in the first cutscene.
What a letdown. It is so fitting that in the same Vidoc you talk how much fun pirate season would be. Turns out it was the worst season in 2 years. And now it is the worst campain in two years, and debatably maybe ever.
I dont know. Maybe now your buisness is just to care about investors because it sure seams you doesn't care about delivering quality products to you customers. Hell you don't even care about telling them the thruth.
You guys better not pat yourself on a back in today's TWAB, just own a L and work on this. Because it is a catastrophe, really. Just compare launch reviews for WQ and LF on Steam, day and night.
In some sense it is the end.
p.s. so glad I didn't bought deluxe. Something felt off all last year. See you in FS I guess. (
p.p.s. for me to create a topic on forums - things might have to be turned out pretty bad.

If this came out during WQ and was part of WQ, like the last season .. then it would be fine for what we got. But at least we have Blind Well Battlegrounds now and have to wait a week in between for the story once again.

For the most part, every major expansion has been met with a little skepticism pre launch.....not Lightfall. It was literally every random person I played with "Could not wait for lightfall" or "Lightfall is gonna be sooo awesome". I knew something felt off, just couldn't put my finger on it at the time.

The stakes are there, they just weren't explained at all lol. What's the Veil? Why does the Witness want to get (inside?) the Traveller? What is the Witness and where did it come from? How can the Witness seemingly manipulate [i]ANYTHING[/i] paracausal? What's the connection between the Witness and the Vex if there is any? What does Lightfall actually mean? Oh no the Traveller transformed but like... nothing happened. Our Ghosts are fine, the Traveller never exactly didn't -blam!- before as it is so it going back to doing nothing isn't a surprise. Shadowkeep, Beyond Light and The Witch Queen were all self explanatory but so far nothing has actually happened to the Light. Maybe if the nature of the Light and the Traveller had been explored years ago we could understand some of whats going on. Or ya know, maybe if Bungie came up with the Witness more than 3 years before the end of a franchise that only moves forward with expansions cause they can't do big story stuff in seasons cause the seasonal content disappears so any casual Destiny player won't know wtf is going on.

They’ve already said they’re not in the business to overdeliver expansions, how that didn’t completely derail lightfall sales is amazing.

Game has always felt like a scam. When D2 launched, they broke their own game by making guardians weak. Then they throttled XP gains. They got their hand caught in the cookie jar on that one, and a gamer caught them. That was laughable! Hahahahahahaha! Then you have the transmog scheme. The feature was already in the game and you could use it without additional pay, now they milked it with real money. Same with this paying to skip campaign scheme. It all feels like a scam. Hahahahahahaha! When you’ve already paid for future content, they don’t care and will not overdeliver. That feels like a scam too. Hahahahahahaha! So yeah, there is nothing here. Welcome to hollowness!

as for the delux edition with the flying whatever it is.. its a cheap peice of crap honestly. sure it looks cool but, worth the extra I paid for it... Absolutely not. i have all the CE for Destiny 2 and while the first couple were amazing peices of metal fabricated items.. the last two have been plastic molded over payed items.. Bungie is just gettig fat on doing as little as possilbe.. The worst part.. I will be here for the ned because I want to know what happens.. as for the next Bungie game.. ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Here we go again. Destiny is still today what Destiny has always been. It hasn’t changed since day one. If you’re outraged with what Lightfall is you have only yourselves to blame. It has good and bad aspects as always. You’ll focus on only the bad and play it every day only to come here and -blam!-. All the -blam!- talk surprises me considering most of you cancelled your preorder. But here we are.

1 ReplyEven the content creators are disappointed with how Lightfall played out. Lucky, Cross, and especially Byf have stated that if this is Destiny's equivalent of Infinity War, it's a terrible one.
