What a MASSIVE step down from Witch Queen.
Bad dialogue, bad story telling, bad mission design (what happened to the "dungeon level" design we had in WQ??? Like there was no puzzles or anything), and strand is just flat out not great when compared to our light subclasses. The only saving grace is the supers (ironic for titans lol). Hunter melee does a grand total of zero damage and is inconsistent as hell.
Really feel let down this expansion, I didn't even hype it up that much I just expected the quality you've already given me in Witch Queen.

29 RepliesEdited by Morakx: 3/1/2023 1:17:13 PMI have legit never had less fun with any content delivery by Bungie. This campaign sets the bar THAT low for me. All there is, was bullet spongie enemies that only died after shooting an entire smg mag at their head (red bars btw) and you constantly get oneshot and therefore have to play like a passive p####. Reminds me of GM playstyle and reminded me why i never play them. Getting one shot and doing no damage is the least fun and least satisfying type of difficulty in a shooter. After finishing the legendary campaign and comparing it to which queen, i gotta say its ten times worse. They thought putting in 30 boss fights with uninspired reissued majors with boss health bars, constant "no revive"-zones everywhere and terrible checkpoints, the game becomes "difficult". It's not. It's just time consuming, boring and annoying.

4 RepliesEdited by Fat Tony: 3/1/2023 2:34:12 PMCan I just say that Osiris' Training Program Mission was the biggest piece of -blam!- mission of all time. Terrible design - the rotating red burn shield at the end with infinite spawning mobs seemingly haphazardly and you just gotta try grapple through the air and pray your sorry -blam!- doesn't get blown away. The worst part? If you die - you restart the whole -blam!- jumping puzzle. Terrible - one of the worst missions I've ever experienced in any game ever. It honestly seems like they made it that difficult to pad out the campaign length. Soundtrack during that mission couldn't even save it.

29 RepliesSo much better than witch queen on every level is that a joke? Witch queen was easily the worst campaign ever. Nothing made sense all you were doing was chasing a moth bit©h the entire storyline. Light fall is the best campaign since forsaken and it's not even close.
-
Strand is ok and nice movement. Needs work still but that is normal. What messes it up is the fact you are squishy and the mobs are always overleveled and more powerful then you. Add to that the ground stomp and a Tormentor that has to be hit in specific places… yeah it adds up to being too frustrating to play when you have a subclass designed to be close to deal damage. Warlocks are the best atm with their treadlings i would think.

Dude catching the hunter melee and then not being able to throw it again is SO unintuitive. Its not even like it does a ton of damage like you said... My god man how do you get that wrong. You complete a mini game to catch the thing and you're reward is like 5% energy... Meanwhile bonk titan...
-
2 RepliesI just don't get how they went from the WQ campaign which was awesome. Then we get this campaign. Nothing but a let down
-
I love how you could hardly use your supers at all in the Campaign.. because we were suppressed . Just to have to used Strand... Which has the slowest energy gain.. And why does Grapple Regen in air "sometimes" but in fights.. I have to land on the ground and then it starts to Regen... That's kind of -blam!- if you ask me.
-
3 RepliesI hate to agree, but I do. I have zero interest in "grappling" and I just don't see using it. The tormentor mechanics are as tedious as stasis... Possibly more tedious. The "story"( such as it is) is as cheesy and terrible as that whole Baron travesty in Forsaken. Neomuna feels empty and may as well be Titan. To be honest, I expected to have fun. My standards aren't that high. Now I just can't wait to get through the story. If I have to run my alternates through the Campaign? Ugh... I don't want to think about it.

I have almost finished the campaign on legendary and being forced to learn a new subclass has had me struggling I'm doing solo by the way the rooms are full of adds I am sick of teleporting adds war dogs appearing right in front of me as I'm doing laps around the room trying to dodge tanks, cyclops, snipers, torch cannon splash damage not to mention everytime minators enter the arena there always so many. Honestly I think for everyone sake it would probably be a better idea to do the campaign on classic to learn the subclass that's the only reason I think it's harder than witch queen because back then we didn't have to learn another subclass going straight into legendary is a nightmare grappling all over the place I'm getting PTSD from the shooting ads that never stop oh another thing why is taken in the story of course they had to add taken in the campaign to make it more annoying (axiom darts) ( slitting psions.....

Edited by NerfPaladins06: 3/2/2023 3:06:49 PMThe supers are ok and Warlock's needle melee is hella good, only outclassed by the solar snap imo. Feels like I'm playing Kiriko from Overwatch when throwing em lol. But I'm getting real tired of Darkness subclass grenades being more of a utility thing. I think both Stasis and Strand should have gotten damaging grenades on par with Fusion/Solar/Vortex/Pulse grenades.

Titan strand is worthless, even during the campaign. I can't believe they failed so hard on this. Maybe if they would concentrate more on awesome gameplay and fun instead of woke characters and 7th grade humor the player base would be happy with our purchase.
-
My favorite part is how useful and creative the titan super is, I'm sure glad I waited to play it before judging....
-
I really enjoy strand on my hunter, but you're right, compared to my arcstrider its not that good.
-
1 ReplyI thought Strand would get me around like Batman. Trust Bungle to screw that up too. They had to nerf it right out of the box so we wouldn't be trying to get on top of buildings. Sad little wannabe gaming company.
-
2 RepliesHonestly at this point I wouldn’t even care if they announced that Final Shape isn’t happening. They do not have an ounce of creativity anymore, this is Shadowkeep and Beyond Light mixed together to make an ugly DLC. Really disappointing.
-
It kind of sucks...
-
3 RepliesWhole lots of complaining for people still playing the game lol.
-
3 RepliesI love Strand. It's an amazing class if you use your brain.
-
1 ReplyYes, strand feels very underwhelming.
-
3 RepliesIs Strand actually bad though. Sure it was implemented poorly into the campaign but I think it might be pretty good. I've already seen high tier threats being trivialized by suspend. Sure some of the weaker elements need to be tweaked but I don't think the subclass is dead. I like the crowd control fantasy and I think that's where it shines best currently. I know we already have stasis but we can have two similar things going on there as long as it's fun.

Please don't insult trash like that!
-
I'm only halfway and what bothers me with this campaign the legendary version feels like crap anytime I'm forced to use it my loadout falls apart and I feel gimped in these super open areas like bro why.
-
This was an expensive lesson to learn but it's learned. In the end, Bungie killed destiny
-
Why in the blue -blam!-! Do I have to use it in these stupid situations....

Bungie did say that they wanted to make the campaign more “Action Movie” than WQ’s “Detective”. So that probably explains the lack of puzzles and the more boss-fight to boss fight style. As far as strand goes, I’ve been playing on my warlock and love it. As the start it’s not bad but not amazing. Survival options are limited to pretty much the rift and 1 fragment (that you can’t unlock until after campaign). But it has tons of options for offense. Threadlings deal surprising damage, and Unravel is like volatile and incandescent mashed together. Then you can add either more recovery options (The Stag literally carried me through Calus solo on Legend) or the Swarmers. The swarmers take a middling subclass and make it amazing. All your abilities can make threadlings now via tangles and the threadlings you make now unravel enemies. This leads to massive group chaining with very low effort. Titan from what I’ve seen is very good. Suspend is broken strong. Hunter melee seems more geared to status infliction on groups of enemies with high uptime (similar to stasis shurikens). Grappling also struggles in higher difficulties where enemies don’t miss as much, so it pushes out the very aerial Hunter subclass while Titan and Warlock still work well.
