Sucks but due to life stuff im poor and so could only afford to pre order and pay for the lightfall base edition on Xbox series with the intention of upgrading to the deluxe edition in a couple of weeks when im paid again, now though ive found out only pc gets this option, ive never been this low on funds before so past dlc's ive just bought the deluxe edition then not had to worry for the year, ive never had to upgrade before.
The problem is Ive been told by multiple sources to 'upgrade' to the deluxe edition i will have to request a refund for the original then add the extra funds to buy the deluxe this has a chance to fail however as whoever answers the refund ticket could just flat out say no.
Can we please get the upgrade option added to console, its not exactly fair that PC gets this option, yet on console you either have to mess around with refunds (which take time, plus the 3-5 days for funds to become available) or we have to pay twice for the base game if the refund gets refused.
I feel really embarrassed even typing this question out but cost of living has massively impacted me these past few months and one of my few comforts is Destiny, I dont want that to disappear aswell.

I didn’t get the deluxe edition either, I didn’t get to do any of the dungeons last year, and didn’t have the chance to get to level 100 on any season this last year. It seemed like a better decision to just wait for a season I will actually play. Plus season 20 comes with the normal edition.

Fun fact, it's cheaper not buying deluxe. I'll use UK prices but it's the same everywhere. Lightfall deluxe is £80, you get base game, 4 seasons, 2 dungeons Buying separately Lightfall base game (+1 season) £35 3 seasons £24 Dungeon key £17 (for 2 dungeons) Total £76

4 RepliesTimes are hard. Nothing to be ashamed of…hope your situation gets better. The only thing you’ll miss are the pre-order bonuses, and they aren’t all that great. It’ll cost a bit more, but you can still the season passes and dungeons separately, and I’d be surprised if there isn’t a separate bundle you can buy. If there isn’t one now, I’d expect one to drop soon after release, as Bungie/Sony clearly wanted to incentivize people to buy the Deluxe edition. But players like yourself are money-on-the-table, and I doubt Bungie is going to risk alienating people like yourself by forcing you to pay for everything piece by piece.

Sorry about your current position. Let’s go Brandon, right? However, I don’t know if this is on Bungies end. I’m sure if it was up to Bungie they would let you upgrade at any time. It is most likely being done that way due to Xbox and PlayStation. If it can be done on Steam, Bungie is not the one preventing it on console.

1 ReplyBungie has not announced any plans of offering a Deluxe Edition Upgrade. This information will more than likely be announced as a post-launch item as they have done in the past. As with the previous upgrade offerings, it would not be exclusive to just one platform. My recommendation is to just wait to see if Bungie does make this offer after Tuesday.
