What makes me and my buddies engaged is getting good loot. Maybe for the top one percent of players it being harder will be more engaging, but for most players, it will just be more frustrating and people aren’t gonna sit and deal with the BS and people will just go to another game. I don’t think these changes are the right approach I think they need to make a clear separation between hard and easy activities. While I have a decent amount of time to play and I’m good enough at the game Many of my friends aren’t and a lot of them are older(50+)and have families and work. I myself work 40 hours a week, so my time is still limited. It’s going to be hard to justify putting so many hours into a game when we can just hop into apex or overwatch and play for an hour a night. And I think they need to make a clear separation between the hard content and the easy Content and leave some of the easy Content really easy so at least some people have some things to enJoy. At the end of the day, making a game, harder and more frustrating is not gonna make a bulk majority of the casuals want to play.

I mean its absolutely clear what Bungies targeted audience is nowadays. The streamer argument is getting boring but they clearly have bungie by the balls. Noone but less than 1 % of the players engage with grandmaster content and even master raids and dungeons AS IS. Yet Bungie brings contest mode difficulty to the table and raises all the difficulties just so their casual playerbase has to waste even more time doing unrewarding old content. Like how elitist does this company want to structure their game?? Holy frick this is mind blowing. If less than one percent of my playerbase engage with the hardest difficulties, WHAT MAKES SOMEONES BRAIN THINK "HEY LETS ADD MORE DIFFICULTY". Like incentivise casuals to engage with higher level content. That would imply its already too hard. Making it even harder gatekeeps even more. These clowns make zero sense.
