Bungie. Where do I begin? These decisions to keep making content changes that no one outside of content creators with an army of followers benefits from is mind-blowing. You have discussed the lack of players reaching endgame. You have acknowledged most players don't get to raid regularly, if ever. At it's core, there are more casuals than hardcores so why is it still such a pain to find groups by forcing us to use your website or an app to matchmake? It's an immersion breaking, dated ideology that needs to be discarded. I have never talked to anyone that hated the idea of extending the matchmaking option to higher tiered content. So why the stubbornness? We've been waiting on this and honestly it's one of the many decisions you as a team have stuck with that has turned many people away from your game.
Edit: I know the fanboys are upset at any criticism and some say it's supposed to released "with Lightfall" but I'm not seeing that. What I just read is they're making everything harder but they still haven't added a viable option for matchmaking? Is it really that hard considering it already exists? This isn't a new game, guys. I'm not trying to "rush" this feature. I'm merely pointing out that it's been waaaay too long and all we have are promises on "future updates" but what we actually get are things no one actually asked for. My point is, they're focusing on the wrong stuff.

5 RepliesIt's asinine that they would force you off the game to find players. If it's a requirement to complete activities of a game, they should provide you with the means to complete it within the game. End of story. And they've refused to tackle it for 8.5 years. It's like when they create a site to discuss the game, and then instead post all their info on Twitter.

Still persisting with locked loadouts and no matchmaking on anything worth the time sink either.
-
I agree. It should be higher priority than revamping an old raid. More people will benefit from this.

1 ReplyEdited by Joulevette12: 2/23/2023 5:49:55 PMIn game LFG coming this year better late then never. It was easy on PS until someone at Sony decided it was a gd idea to delete community forums yet say sh*t that they want players to be able to communicate more on they platform 😒 say that to PS Home and community forums

Guided games could offer adept raid weapons or red border weapons and maybe couple of golf balls as incentives to people to guide the less skilled through raids. I clicked on it and after 15 minutes of waiting just went into pvp.

1 Replywanna raid? wanna do end game content, make friends, like the rest of us who raid or run dungeons on a regular basis do. Get out of your comfort zone, be a genuine good person, and maybe people will want to help teach you. Matchmaking with new lights in strikes is bad enough. But at least I can do that content solo. Dragging someone who contributes about as much to society as Justin Bieber through a raid - that's hours of my life I will not get back.

These posts always make me smile. You’re literally complaining about there being no LFG on a forum on a site/app that allows you to do just that… Bungie said it’s coming, most likely the season after lightfall. I always have my phone near me when I play to watch videos or look stuff up. Is it really that much of a stretch to open it up on there. In game LFG UIs are also really clunky on console (where a little over half the play base is…)
-
1 ReplyI’m not a content creator and have completed every raid and dungeon
-
2 RepliesLightfall is gonna make this task a little bit easier. But I do agree it shouldn't have been this long even for the bare minimum
-
I'd rather use discord to find groups for raids and dungeons instead of getting stuck in a raid/dungeon for hours because people have no idea what they're doing and there's no communication.

So why the stubbornness? We've been waiting on this and honestly it's one of the many decisions you as a team have stuck with that has turned many people away from your game. I can't begin to tell you how much of a pain it is to constantly refresh and scroll to quickly and find a fireteam that hasn't already been filled or sitting there waiting and watching your screen for that next person to join your raid. It sometimes takes longer to get a team together than it does to even run the raids or mission. Then you have to hope it succeeds. Look, I've been an off and on again fan, but these decisions, they make it hard to love your work. Get with the times already. Amazon made a game that utterly failed (New World) and through all of the TERRIBLE game mechanics and decisions, even they understood the need for matchmaking within the game. Why can't you??? Edit: I know the fanboys are upset at any criticism and some say it's supposed to released "with Lightfall" but I'm not seeing that. What I just read is they're making everything harder but they still haven't added a viable option for matchmaking? Is it really that hard considering it already exists? This isn't a new game, guys. My point is, they're focusing on the wrong stuff.[/quote] With 0 raid completions, I imagine the "people you talk to" also have 0 raid completions, so none of you understand why matchmaking in high tier activities is a bad idea. So, I'll make a foolish attempt to explain it. Because they have mechanics. And what's going to happen is that 0 clear new lights like you are going to matchmake in, have no idea what you're doing, and cause wipes, cause the raid to take hours, have no mic, and basically not contribute anything. That makes raiding a miserable experience for those of us who took the effort to make friends and finish cooperative activities. Tl Dr Nobody wants to drag a tantrum-throwing new light through multi-encounter activities while they do nothing. - Make friends, learn how to raid. If you want people to drag you through, then pay them, because that's a service. Can't force people to play with you. That's not how online gaming works. Maybe be less of a jerk to people. Based on your responses, it's pretty clear you're just angry and you want to take it out on other people. It's no small wonder you're having such a hard time making friends.

1 ReplyIn the time you created this post you could have made an lfg for the raid of your choice.
-
5 RepliesI wish they would open matchmaking for everything for just one day. That is all it would take to make the entire community realize how bad of an idea it is. You think it takes a long time to get a raid team together via LFG. Try running one with five randoms. You may get three with no mics, two who can’t run and shoot at the same time, another that is afk, just looking for the free rewards, one that doesn’t speak the same language as the rest of the team, one that is eight years old and you can hear their mother yelling at them to clean their room in the background. It would be a disaster.

You do realize that you’re posting this to the site/app that has the lfg? Literally just takes clicking on another tab…
-
1 ReplyIt's 2023 and you're STILL complaining about something that takes 3 minutes to set up/use to find a group? Get over yourself..
-
2 RepliesIts what happens when many players dont know any better and are merely happy to settle for the low bar.
-
1 ReplyThe don't call it the "Companion App" for nothing. LFG will always be better than random matchmaking, especially for raids. I believe there are plans to introduce in game LFG systems soon.

1 ReplyIts 2023 and we’re still making posts like this?
-
No flying cars either!
-
8 RepliesIt's a joke that people complain about the dumbest things. Don't forget, we're getting an in-game LFG later in the year, don't forget to complain about that too.
-
Meanwhile Xbox has had this since the release of the Xbox one.

18 RepliesEdited by FataLVisioN_Oo: 2/23/2023 6:08:26 PMIsn't in game LFG coming towards the end of next seasons 3rd season? Does suck it's a long way away but if it's not done right it would be kinda trash anyway. I don't personally mind using the app to LFG, it has a good setup TBH.
-
12 RepliesThey're literally adding an in-game LFG.......
-
2 RepliesAm I insane or are there literally no smart Destiny players? They said in game LFG was coming with lightfall. They said this almost 6 months ago. Unless some new blog post came out in the last day saying they scrapped that entire idea, in game LFG is STILL coming next week.
-
2 RepliesThey don't do, only redo. Also, everything they redo breaks everything. Then they undo until such time as they feel fit to redo. Then they redo that.
