Bungie paywalls are getting grotty
Lets talk about some pretty grimy paywalls. Ive been playing for years so ive never noticed. But, my eldest started playing destiny. Bought the season pass. Great, access to this season.
Zavalla daily bounty, champions in nightfall. No worries lets do a nightfall together... thats odd, Nightfall requires Beyond light?...huh. so whys it in zavallas daily bounty strike list?. Also Nightfalls are strikes though right?...apparently not....No nightfall rewards then. Thats NASTY.
Xur. Hes selling a cool weapon this week, go buy it. What do you mean you cant? Forsaken required? Why the fk is it in xurs shopfront then? Forsaken no longer exists, that cant be....what do you mean i can still buy it? Its vaulted, the content is gone! Grimy bungle, very grimy.
The same situation in monument in tower? Cant even buy it, or just about anything else with your season pass reward exotic cypher....wtf is that cypher for then?
Well you can get some good armour from lost sectors....youve done 20 and not got a helmet? Weird. Oh, says on reddit itll only drop if youve got the corresponding expansion....no point you doing lost sectors then. Pretty disgusting bungle.
Well, congrats, youve played for 6 weeks and youve got every weapon and armour in the game not behind a paywall of vaulted, non existent content you must now either pay for the non playable non existent content, or i guess call it quits and play a different game?
That is my advice to new players. Honestly. Play something else. Spending £150 on non existent content that can no longer be played, for campaigns that no longer exist with a story arc that no longer makes any sense and is incomplete? Youd need your head examined.
Whats really gross is this is all hidden. Nowhere in lost sector rewards does it mention you can NEVER get a certain helmet to drop, one SUPPOSEDLY in the world loot pool. Nowhere does it tell you your season reward cypher is worthless as -blam!-.
We log in, then i go through all the locations and content id like to play, then realise one by one its unavailable as someone on my fireteam doesnt have access. So i can do pretty much sweet fk all.
This money grubbing disgrace needs to stop. Season pass should grant access to all available, playable content and rewards.

4 RepliesIt is a bit irritating. I remember when I upgraded from PS4 to series x I had to rebuy all expansions. Luckily I was smart and waited for a sale... If you can't afford to play the game then don't play it.

Season pass should grant access to all available, playable content and rewards.[/quote] Facts Bungie has only used FREE TO PLAY and Season Passz and Expansion DLC's as a way of maximizing funds by having three revenue streams from the same game When most companies only do 1-2, this has been the cause since The Launch of Vanilla D2 hence why D2 has been so disliked universally

15 RepliesForsaken pack tells you all you need to know, there's no campaign, nothing, just shattered throne & last wish access. They're clever & people don't realise. Putting things like moon bounties in the weekly challenges. Can't get them without shadowkeep. Putting shattered throne as a pinnacle drop after years of not having one, gotta have forsaken pack. Making sure that each season has a nightfall from as many expansions as possible, want conqueror, gotta buy those expansions. Something people haven't realised too, this year's expansion has the dungeon key cost added on & no one's noticed, people still think they're saving money. Well I paid 100 for WQ & lightfall is 100, but WQ included 30th anniversary pack, so it was actually 75 not 100, and had free dungeons. Lightfall is 100 but base game & seasons total just 80. Mind games

8 RepliesOh, you only scratched the surface of what they have done over the years and lied to the player base to try and cover up their deliberate poor actions with paywalls, and this business has only scratched the surface of how low they will actually go with NetEase being on the board. It's gotten to the point that these greedy businesses like EA need to be regulated, and laws need to be set down. The BS that these businesses can make up any nonsense they want, make changes anytime they want, and how many times they want with their "license agreement abusing the subject-to-change" is actually what needs to stop. Games today with most businesses are not even worth buying. Look at what 343 did to Infinite, 8 years of development with over a year being out and the game only has half of the content a Halo game offers. It is a cheap knock-off of Halo, the worst development in Halo's history trying to turn it into a microtransaction game, striping it to barebone as this business did with the base game and literally applying all the BS this business did to Destiny 2 all the way down to the rigged RNG. The game is so damn bad that Microsoft actually sent out request to the player base asking what they want to do with the game. Keep it running or shut it down. This is how bad develpment has gotten with destiny.

You also lost your right to complain when you pre ordered LF 6 months ago.

3 RepliesPC issue? On Xbox and Playstation you can game share the DLC, but not the seasons. Generally speaking, yeah if you do not buy paid content, you will not have access to the paid content. Even in a lobby with someone who owns the content. I'm with you 100% about the forsaken content, but everything else seems to be normal. Realistically this pack should be made free or at most this pack should be $5 instead of $20 considering that most of the content is already gutted out of the game.

6 RepliesYou're right, it's a f*****g mess. Destiny is a Free2Try game, not a F2P. You can't have or do anything truly meaningful unless you pay the big bucks on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, Destiny is becoming more and more like a subscription-based game every year.
