So no one is going to talk about after you scroll to the bottom lol

We have dozens of guns that are reskins. Who cares? I’d rather have the same hun a hundred times if the perks keep getting better (i.e Yesteryear, True Prophecy, Last Perdition, First In Last Out; and those are just the ones in my vault). If the perks are different or even better, why does it matter? Honestly why.

16 RepliesThe weapons continue to evolve... new and different perk sets, origin perks... now enhancement starting with raid adepts adepts... 😉, a weapon crafting system This nonsense "reskin" hate bomb post is a gross mischaracterization of the reality of the ever evolving, ever improving D2 loot table. That's brass tax.

Oh wow. They better be lit.
-
Minimum. Viable. Product. Will the player base still buy the expansion with re-skinned weapons? You bet. So why make new ones. Never over deliver -bungie 2022.

10 RepliesNot really siding with Bungo here, but.. There is only so many ways you can design a gun

Edited by VoreoTheDragon: 2/18/2023 8:07:44 PMI never expect seasons that launch with an expansion to not be reskins tbh. The expansions weapons need their time in the sun. Plus they were developing a whole 'nother subclass cut the art team some slack.

1 ReplyIf you really think deep about it in REAL LIFE All semi Automatic weapons are the same they just have different looks (SKINS), The all function the same. The attributes / perks are what makes it work in a certain way. Recoil, Sway, RMPs, size of the magazine, bump stocks.

11 RepliesEdited by Ferus Lux: 2/17/2023 10:04:49 PMI used to be very angry at asset reuses...but then I started playing Monster Hunter again. Every game uses the same animations, items, armor and weapon designs and has bosses that are over 15 years old with reskins of them with inflated stats and glows introduced as endgame content. Okay maybe I'm still angry but there are definitely worse offenders out there than Destiny 2 and with the amount of new stuff Lightfall is bringing to the table I can overlook the seasonal weapons.
-
as bungie once said "its hard making new content" lol

3 RepliesMakes me appreciate borderlands a lot.

8 RepliesWow. I didn't know it was that bad. That's hilarious.
-
Exactly. It's so sad man. It's the expansion for Fs sake, they didn't even bother to bring the new stuff for it. I use Risen weapons to this day. The low effort rn is pathetic...
-
Should we be surprised? Nah, not really. Same sh-t, different day.
-
And?? How a weapon looks doesn't even matter. Perks define how a weapon behaves. I don't understand why people get so upset over stuff like this. Ya, you could say it shows a lack of effort from the devs, but why put effort into something that doesn't matter? I would rather have the devs working on the important aspects of the game instead of making new weapon models.

3 RepliesEdited by BOSSNONO254: 2/17/2023 4:00:49 PMI mean, for as long as this game has been going on. I can see how everything will end up being a reskin. At least for weapons they could add new aesthetics and designs. Instead of slapping a different shader on a “Dark Decider” auto which has like 3-4 other versions of itself.
-
Wow I did not see that coming 😳
-
Don't care what the weapon looks like, all that matters are stats and perk combos
-
The seasonal stuff doesn’t really bother me if the season really is Awoken-themed. Neomuna weapons were more annoying when they were first introduced, but they’re bothering me less the more I see them. Would I have preferred new models? 100% yes.
-
3 RepliesHonestly they still look dope and I genuinely hope they just reused the sound of the moon weapons too. Best gun sounds in the game! Especially how the sniper screams 😈
-
I’d kinda like the duke 44 to come back. Its the only 120 I ever liked.
-
1 ReplyThe moon weapons coming back isn't bad. Did anyone really ever use those when they first came out?

2 RepliesEdited by The Rat King: 2/16/2023 6:09:39 PMI’m sorry but no. The travelers chosen literally has a blue variant. Suros regime all the way back in D1 had some close mimics the moment weapon foundries were introduced. This game can have a 260 rpm scout rifle that looks like a rocket launcher and one that looks like a regular scout and at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. Perk combos are what truly matter for gameplay. Looks of a gun are generally an after thought for this game. Reusing assets and such can be scummy but everyone jumping on the hate train for Bungie for these weapons were far quieter the last 6+ years.
