Why is rift still in comp ?
Honest question. How is this not crucible labs material like flat out

I'll never understand why PvE casuals feel like their opinions weigh more than other folks that only get on to play PvP. There is no reason whatsoever Rift should be in Comp. No one asked for it. Show me a comment anywhere in D2's history where someone said "We need Rift in Competitive Mode!" That statement is up there next to Beyonce saying "I married Jay Z because of his good looks!"...never happened.

Its not the worst but they need to remove dysfunction from the comp rotator as rift. Excluding the fact its a bad map. Its way to big and Ive had a number of games end in a 1 to 1 tie. Not only the ties being a problem but you cant make a come back if its a 0/2 game again because of its size plus the time limit. Even over time matches of rift on this map almost always end in a draw.

Because it's a strategic game mode, do you grab the spark and quickly try to dunk it before the enemy can react, or do you wait on your team mates to escort you to the Rift ? I do prefer countdown to it though -
4 RepliesIs it possible that people on the forum asking Rift to be removed from Comp is actually in the minority? I'm not saying it should be there, I think it sucks as 3v3. But, considering the number of players in Destiny compared to the number of people saying it needs to go has to be a very small percentage. Just a thought.

15 RepliesBecause most D2 pvp game modes are more than just shooting people. Comp in particular is aimed at more tactical aspects of pvp so Rift is in fact in perfect place.

Because the removed Elimination which was a far superior game mode and brought Rift into comp. It's crap, doesn't belong. You die, you get spawned on the ENEMY side off the map giving the enemy a free dunk since you can't stop them from running to your rift.

I just want to snap my controller every time I get right or showdown it only encourages hand holding not solo play or gun skill it’s miserable

Why is it anywhere in the game..they have it going in 2 or 3 playlists and seriously, playing that dumpster fire of a gametype in comp on disjunction is probably the worst thing in the game to experience

It’s fine especially if other option would be another capture point and just get bubble spam. It’s been out long enough now gotta know how to play it . This mode gotta use strategy and be able to switch strategy on the fly . No just all out rush or all out defense like most other modes

5 RepliesObjectively, what is it about Rift that makes in non-competitive? I don't care, I'm just playing devil's advocate because I see anti-Rift posts all the time and don't understand how anything with even odds is not competitive.

I love stealing heavy for eager edge and shatterskating onto the rift, Its super fun and is pisses people off 10/10

Its funny… rift is in the weekly rotation, its in crucible labs, and in competitive. And even in comp, when it comes up, i bail. Sorry, not sorry. I dont like it. The spawn time and locations are ridiculous, to me. Its fine in the weekly rotating playlist, but shouldnt be anywhere else, imo.

Agreed nobody wants rift in competitive play, also they need to bring elmin back we have rift in 3 different game modes it's insane.

I haven't played Comp yet, but isn't Rift a weird choice for Comp? I mean, at least for what I know about the Mode it sounds like it.
