It's being Defiant.
It's sitting in plain view, protecting us.
Have a feeling that's what next season is, it being Defiant, it takes a massive hit at the end and either gets taken or something, hence why the next season after is Deep.
It'll drown in The Deep.
3rd season we cleanse it
4th it dies , but takes the Witness with it.

2 RepliesIt legitimately DID leave, though. It left us. The only reason it’s still hovering over the Earth is because the Witness and the Pyramids are at its doorstep. It has nowhere left to run to. But make no mistake, it’s NOT with us anymore, as made evident by it not being there above us when we’re in the Tower

13 RepliesI’m genuinely surprised that people actually believed that the Traveler was going to leave after watching the full cutscene play out and then believing the Witness. Question, when did the Traveler begin to leave? Right before Eramis began to fire the Warsats. How far did it go? Up into the space around Earth. The Traveler was making sure that if the Warsats were fired that it would be the only thing destroyed, and that the Last City directly below it would not be harmed. The Traveler may not be this benevolent being, but considering that Humanity has allied with the Awoken, Cabal and Eliksni, we’re the last chance it has to win if the Flower Game is still the Endgame of this universe.

3 RepliesWe are about to fight Calus in order to get The Veil, then protect The Veil from The Witness, we use The Veil to Unveil things in the past that will unlock new horrors in the galaxy (pandoras box). The Traveler will have us use The Veil to make The Witness and The Traveler meet. The Witness will drink from The Traveler and then ultimately becoming a sacrifice killing The Traveler in the process. Go back to The Veil unlocking things we find a way to use The Veil to create the end which is The Final Shape….servers shutdown. *sad Rasputin noises*

1 ReplyEdited by ADarkUrge: 2/16/2023 3:38:05 PMImagine if the Traveler just starting pulling guardians up to space and yeeting them at the pyramid ships.7 Like a parent who is so fed up with their children that they'll happily make them someone elses problem.

It was leaving. Deal.

It literally doesn't matter. The story has zero effect on game play.. skip cutscene.

1 ReplyI like how the Destiny lore has spent what is it now like 8 years? Trying to convey that we mean absolutely nothing to the traveler and it wants to run and leave us in the dust as it has countless other species and STILL y'all won't stop licking it's boots clean
-
It's not leaving. You literally see it break wind, then right after it moves into space to make out it didn't just crop dust an entire city .. which now smells like rancid hot dogs. Probably been holding that one since the Red War to be honest.
-
Well its obviously not leaving. We all saw the cut scene lmao
-
6 RepliesIt’s gotta leave sooner or later. They don’t call him the Traveler because he hangs around.
-
7 RepliesSo, nerf fusion rifles

2 Repliesi feel like season of the deep, is more about like ocean, water, atlantic stuff, like that monster on titan, and those weird fish thingies that elsie has, but whenever i hear season of the deep, all i can think of is the actual Deep, from the boys, and I bet u can guess what image comes to mind
-
12 Repliesi feel like when the traveller and the darkness actually clash the traveller will crack space itself with use falling through the cracks this is how D3 starts new game, new story we get sent into the past to make things right.

Or he dies. Last stand type deal. We have a massive space battle. The expansion though will focus on Neptune. While the vanguard is guarding earth. The season will be Queen Mara leading the defence or defiance. She’s essentially the resistance leader.

1 ReplyAnybody thinks the witness might be the hero to this story? I know it doesn’t seem like it but Megamind might be on to something .

28 RepliesReported for spoilers

2 RepliesI wish it would leave. Useless golf ball don't give a crap about us, it's only here to save its own rearend. Seriously, what has it ever done but bring trouble and death? Is humanity any better off for it being here? I think not.

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
I am already disturbed to not see the holy machine in the sky of my home I would give my last life to defend it if this was a real RPG, you don't see Shepard running from the Reapers, or Masterchief running from the forerunners , or Geralt running from the Wild Hunt!!!! -
2 RepliesIt’s not leaving cause it would be pointless. What’s the point in playing. Also bungie won’t do it so yeah. And the towers not getting destroyed.
-
Meh. The story scenes are a good time for me to get coffee. Don’t care. Or I press O and move on.
-
but it packed it's bags, it's like a suitcase but traveler size.
-
1 ReplyThe traveler may not be leaving, but I am. Y’all have fun with that whole collapse thing I’m gonna be chillin on neptune.
-
He isn't protecting us, he was leaving us till he realized there is no where is to go
-
So basically this. Yeah. Fair enough. Bungie isn't known for its originality.

I think I agree with you. I think it's learned. If it was going to leave, the time to do so was like the end of the red war? Or right after the it healed. I think it sees more than we think it does. If it could resurrect Rasputin I think it would but there is nothing left to do so with.
