1 ReplyThe only exotics i haven’t got is Collective Obligation and 1K Voices (but from what i’ve seen from youtube, Collective Obligation is more worth farming. No idea why Bungie won’t buff 1K Voices terrible DPS) and for the exotics i farmed, Hierarchy of Needs is my favorite one, with Touch of Malice and Eyes of Tomorrow not too far from it. Vex Mythoclast is cool during Season of The Lost and in PvP but now, Guardians stacked their resilience to max while laneing with Pulses and HCs in PvP, and in PvE, there’s other Solar Primaries and heavies we can use for higher level content because of no Unstoppable Fusions (and Lightfall would make Riptide meta) Heartshadow would be better if it had a deeper reserve, especially it’s 6 or 8 (?) Ammo required to proc it’s exotic intrinsic.

Dungeon RNG is awful all around. They are the only thing that lacks any means for players to increase their chances at a desired roll. No focusing. No crafting. 300+ encounters should not produce zero desired weapon rolls. Being that helpless to improve a situation doesn’t feel good. Does anyone like being that helpless to improve an unpleasant situation? I don’t care about having access to them anymore so this will be the first time I don’t get the deluxe edition since Forsaken. I’m not paying to be in a helplessly unrewarding situation.

I haven’t had that bad of luck with the dungeons. But the raids are another story. Drop rates (RNG) make zero sense. For example: I never even ran the entire Scourge of the Past raid. Anarchy dropped on my 2nd boss clear. Took me 50 clears to get Vex.
-
Agreed, it takes countless hours every season grinding the power level just to get into these dungeons that the further grind required to get the drop has become ridiculously too much. This is just one of the reasons i have come to hate this game and will not be back next year.
-
6 RepliesI wish we could go back too having quests for raid/dungeon exotics.
-
Don't worry, now we have to worry about bad rng on more non craft able weapons as well.
-
1 ReplyI’d say flawless raids should guarantee the exotic drop. It shows mastery of mechanics and skill in the raid.
-
2 Repliesdrop rates are the same for everyone, it's just complete RNG, which is good for some, and unfortunately, not so good for others. Since it is RNG, by definition, Bungie can't just reward us simply for doing something. The best bad luck protection I've seen in the last two dungeons was completing the triumphs that boosts your drop rates. After I completed those, I got the dungeon exotic on my very next run - so it is worth the effort.

11 RepliesEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 2/13/2023 2:21:57 PMThat kind of RNG breeds disappointment and even resentment. Between this and dungeons lacking an RNG safety net like focusing or crafting, it appears that they’d rather see players disappointed hundreds of times for the sake of “ooo that’s rare”, as if that’s a measure of value that makes any sense at all.
-
1 ReplyWrong your rng is just trash asf. I got the new dungeon exotic bow my second run without any of the triumphs being completed safe to say I’m done with SoW lmfaooo
-
3 RepliesI dissagree, ran spire on a mondah, dropped the bow on my titan, tuesday ran it on my hunter... dropped the bow again.
-
It would certainly be nice. Nearly 60 raids to get one drop, or repeatedly not getting a dungeon exotic after having all the drop rate boosts, is pretty disheartening.
-
As much as I loved Spire of the Watcher, I don't think I have it in me to buy another dungeon to run over 50+ times and not get what I want out of it. The Exotics should always be challenge related or guaranteed from a Master run and there needs to be a chest at the end of it where you can pick a random roll of a weapon or pay a currency for a drop you don't have.
-
4 RepliesRNG raid exotics are just bad design. It's the SOLE reason why I don't bother raiding in this game. I don't like getting -blam!- over as much as the broader D2 community does. I've been asking for raid exotic quests for years and getting flamed for it every time. Blows my mind there are so few players who actively want them back.
-
1 ReplyI'd rather have a cap on the number of times than an increase in the drop rate. if you do 30 times and don't get it, shouldn't you definitely DROP it?
-
Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
I think allowing them to be farmed on a weekly rotation was always going to mean that the drop rates would be hammered into the ground. Bungie can’t have people getting the rewards they want. -
3 RepliesShoot, Im STILL trying to get the duality deep sights, man.
-
9 RepliesThere IS bad luck protection. There's still a grind but if you run it every week on all three characters, you are eventually guaranteed to get the exotic.
-
23 RepliesDrop rate is fine if anything it should be much harder to get
-
This is literally the reason why I didn’t really engage with Spire or Kings Fall this (and last) season. The RNG is literally -blam!- for both weapons and armor and caused me to lose all motivation to even RUN them anymore. Duality was the last straw for me since I didn’t even get the Heartshadow sword and they nerfed it shortly after release. 😂
-
Been playing since D1 Alpha and still have never had a raid exotic or dungeon exotic drop. I’m not the biggest raider out there but I’ve done VoG a decent amount over the years and have cleared the dungeons many time.
-
I would love to see some sort of dungeon spoils of war to use so you can use them on weapons and exotics.
-
6 RepliesI’m at 87 runs in VOW…
-
2 RepliesEdited by MattTheBelieber: 2/12/2023 10:06:25 AMI like that they have certain Duality triumphs increase HeartShadow drop rate. Could do that with raids. I know alot of KingSlayers without the Touch of Malice.
-
Bungie needs to learn how to respect people's time.
-
I have to agree seeing as they'll post stars about how many players actually participate and complete raids and they say something like less than 30% of the total player population or something like that. Might actually be lower...It doesn't sound believeable and didn't back in D1 days, but if it's true, I'd say Bungie ought to increase the drop chances to entice more raid newbies to engage... Again, they're always proud of their metrics more than the customers like any business...Well, if they want raid metrics up then that would be a good place to start. I personally don't mind a grind...I've no-lifed the hell outta the franchise...But I empathize for the community and noobs.
