From the TWAB:
Players can expect all Season 16-19 content to enter the DCV, excluding the Season 16 PsiOps Battlegrounds and the Season 19 Heist Battlegrounds, which will instead be added to the Vanguard Ops playlist beginning in Season 20.
I know ya'll changed the strike playlist to the Vanguard Ops playlist to allow for this, but for the love of all things holy, please stop. Strikes have been withering on the vine after years of neglect, and foisting these activities (which we've already run exhaustively during their relevance) alongside years old content, DOES NOT make the playlist engaging. It makes it even more tedious to spend any amount of time in. Any time these seasonal activities pop up, more often than not, I just leave the playlist. I don't want to play old seasonal content. I don't want to engage with years old strikes. We need to see some actual strike content produced, and a separation between the strike and seasonal playlist content.
At this point, I'd rather ya'll took the Crucible and Gambit approach, and just stopped giving us this kind of PvE content, instead of pretending that the seasonal content somehow fits into the playlist. Your core gameplay is the least engaging, and this is not helping. Perhaps your metrics say otherwise, which I can only assume... but of everyone I play with, we all groan whenever we're thrown into a piece of seasonal content, and frequently leave.
At least give us a choice, to play strikes OR battlegrounds.

Exactly. ADD NEW STRIKES, STOP BEING LAZY, Bungie. ANNUAL DLC DLC YIELD A REASONABLE 2-4 STRIKES AT LEAST! "Battlegrounds" needs it's own playlist or needs to be removed/sunset for newer similar or better more inventive content. Bungie doesn't like to be transparent on why they ignore obvious additions to the game that would improve the QoL and gameplay of Destiny.
-
I like Battlegrounds in the Vanguard Ops playlist.

13 RepliesAdding the battlegrounds activities to the strikes has been the greatest decision Bungie has made. They have more enemies on them, aren’t that dissociate so they slot right in, and they give more variety to the playlist. Hell I’ve got a buddy who is disappointed to get a strike when he’s in the vanguard ops playlist.

17 RepliesEdited by BarrettDylan: 2/10/2023 6:03:40 PMHeavily disagree. Battlegrounds are like a strike with a few variations I genuinely enjoy a number of them, especially the Psi Op ones being kept in Lightfall I also don’t think we should be given the option to take them out of our search options. That would splinter the matchmaking for no good reason in my opinion. There’s already the two match made nightfall options if you’re so heavily opposed
-
14 RepliesBring back the vaulted strikes. You can easy cut out the parts that required the linked locations and after over a year it'll be nice to have them back. ... I miss the Pyrimidion.

I don’t think adding the season of Risen and Seraph battlegrounds into the Vanguard ops playlist will be as bad. For one the battlegrounds they added from season of the Chosen (not including the Proving Ground strike in the land tank) don’t have the champions that were in those battlegrounds when they were a seasonal activity. Plus the season of the chosen battlegrounds never show up in nightfalls as far as I know. The only things I’m worried about are how repetitive they’ll be, and the new blue berries who won’t know the mechanics for the seraph battlegrounds like the laser towers you need to hide from.

As long as they remove champions from it

8 RepliesEdited by AbsolutZeroGI: 2/11/2023 7:47:47 PMWithout the power cap being at -5, you can easily complete a heist battlegrounds in the time it takes to do an average strike (by average, I obviously don't mean Lake of Shadows). I think people are forgetting that they cap us at -5 to make the activity harder, but without that cap, you'll fly through it. I'm okay with this change. They are strike level activities anyway, and without the power cap, they'll be done in a few minutes.

1 ReplyHARD disagree. Heists and psiops are both actually fun. The strikes, as is, are boring. Adding the battlegrounds to Vanguard ops actually makes that Playlist diverse and enjoyable.
-
Gm hiests and psiops ?
-
1 ReplyGrandmaster battlegrounds I can imagine that would be interesting
-
I will say I do like that battle grounds has ammo and super boxes
-
I agree. I hate battlegrounds.
-
I wouldn't mind the battlegrounds as much if they didn't require champ mods for the more "difficult" tiers.
-
I quit everything that isn't an actual strike, I'm not going to spend 30 minutes suffering through boring -blam!- with potatoes for teammates, that stand in spawn. -blam!- that. I immediately quit.

5 RepliesEdited by ll Clepto ll: 2/10/2023 11:37:48 PMI disagree…. I only play the ops playlist to get rewards or do bounties, all these psi ops are quick and easy, and that’s the two things I want out of it. plus it adds nostalgia for some of them. I still enjoy legend dares and I ran that 110 times to get the comet ship……. Being quick and easy with high enemy density is something I’ll always want
-
They should add them to the nightfall rotation.
-
2 RepliesDisagree. It's the run and gun easy playlist, so the extra variety is a good thing, and they are similar in structure and length.
-
1 ReplyI laugh at people who think Strikes are any more engaging than seasonal content like this. You're just lying to yourself. Strikes suck. Some are 6+ years old. You just don't like that a lot of the earlier Strikes can be mostly sparrowed through and later content can't be skipped as easy.
-
Hey, at least they won't be as tedious, with the removal of Champions and actual modifiers like the base Heist Battlgrounds had. Those went so quick. I'd rather not do them anymore (especially Wizard party Europa), but they'll at least be bearable. Hopefully, Neptune comes with 2-3 new strikes, and maybe they'll bring back some old ones since most of them really only require a section of the planets instead of all of it. Might have to put up some invisible walls so they can cut out a lot more of the starting areas (or at least lower the graphics, like how Vostok has the Iron Temple in the background but is pared down quite a bit from the Felwinter's Peak version in D1).
-
This just means that I will be leaving more "Vanguard Ops" than I already do. Strikes are pretty mind numbing by them selves and battlegrounds are far worse.
-
100% agree. Seasons are set up to require grinding their activities to death in order to progress the story and (especially) to obtain weapon patterns. By the end of the year, I'm happy to see them go away. Most of the strikes might be old and tired, but at least there's always the possibility of seeing one you haven't seen in a while. I don't ever want to see another PsiOp or Cabal battleground, and I'm just about at my lifetime limit for Heists. They're way too "samey" to have lasting appeal.
-
Battlegrounds are so damn boring. I agree with everyone saying they don’t like them. Whenever I have to play them for pinnacles I almost always leave when a battleground pops up.
-
Battlegrounds means exit and look for next game

1 ReplyHard disagree lol I see your points but battlegrounds and psi ops missions are usually looked more forward cause it makes the strike faster and fresher
