I have noticed quite a few very high skill players on this site are manipulating matchmaking to get into the very lowest of sbmm skill brackets.
This appears to be done by having multiple alternate accounts with a 0 kd.
These players enter matchmaking as a fire team of 0 kd accounts. when matchmaking is done, as they are flying into the match, one alt accounts leaves leaving room for another alt to invite their real sweat account into the game, then that alt leaves providing another open space to invite another sweat.
By the time the match starts it’s 3-6 giga sweats vs a lobby of people that have basically never played crucible before.
These absolute trashcan scumbags have 100% win rates, have literally not lost a game since sbmm started, and have ridiculous seasonal kd’s of like 15-20.
They are playing 30-70 games a night and have the balls to actually be streaming it on twitch.
My question to the CM’s: Is this classified as cheating? Will they be banned?
Edit 1:
How to spot these cheaters:
If you suspect someone is doing this, check their match history on this app (not third party ones like destinytracker, the alt accounts are hidden on third party apps somehow). The alt accounts always appear on the opposing team for some reason. You will see the same alt accounts on the opponents team with zero kills every single match they play. The alt accounts usually have very obvious names like “farmerbot”. There are always 2-4 of them Together.
Report them for cheating using the form on the bungie website and attach a links/screen caps to the suspicious games.
Edit 2: 🤣 this post getting downvoted!!! By who I wonder? You donkeys, nobody would be the wiser had you not streamed the process on twitch 😂

Just to make you all aware folks, the cheating shite is back on Quickplay tonight, just been on Midtown. He scored a KDA of 32, it's the same ploy used before, a team of three, two not taking an active part and AFK. FFS Bungie sort this out.
-
That sounds like a lot of hassle 😂
-
That's a lot of nonsense for a bad video game, I highly doubt anyone is actually doing that lol.

1 ReplyI'm glad you ve brought this up my friend. Tuesday last, in IB, I viewed the rosta before a match started on the Rusted map. I noted a three man team, all showing very low light levels. When the match started two of the three man team vanished while the remaining player basically cheated their way through the match. Checking the stats at the end of the match, the active player he had a KDA in high double figures, but the other two were shown as members of my team?? I continued to check the three man throughout IB and now basic QuickPlay...it's the same scenario, all the time. The thing is, the active player is achieving excessive double digit KDA scores in every match, it's ridiculous. I've officially reported the 'God' player for matchmaking manipulation, it's been acknowledged but surprise, surprise, the gobsh-te is still being allowed to use the same scam.

Edited by Rain: 2/11/2023 12:30:52 AMDamn, that sounds like a lot of work just to play a game. On one hand, I'd like to applaud them for "rebelling" against sbmm but also can't help but feel bad if some new players were caught in the crossfire. Edit: oh, I know who it is.

5 RepliesEdited by The Hermit IX: 2/10/2023 10:43:08 PMThere’s a report function under help. Copy the users name and paste it on the report. Fill out the report and submit it. You’ll get an email confirming they received it. You are correct about match making manipulation. It’s listed in the description of different forms of cheating. Several that post here do it and do it to boost their KDs and not have to face players in their own skill bracket. Unfortunately these players continue to play so hopefully Bungie cracks down in it. It’s not fair for low level players to be farmed and stat shamed on the forums. It’s toxic and defeats the purpose of SBMM.

That's called "smufing" isn't it? I think it's also punishable by ban, but what do I know?
-
It’s called bait searching and done in many games with a ranked/comp game mode and is 2 players on 700 elo alt accounts with 3 players on 2500 elo main accounts and drags you in to 1700 elo lobbies, it’s done to lower the teams overall ELO, these games combat this by limiting who you can play with, meaning you can only search with players in your bracket, destiny just takes the party leaders stats in to account which is why this is so much more effortless and a far worse system. I suspect FBMM is the same, as long as you stay in the same lobby more and more friends can join you progressively allowing to build up to a 6 stack in a lobby where the other team is made up of all solos. IMO this is the absolute best thing that can happen and I hope many more people do this to show how flawed both the SBMM and FBMM systems implemented are. Bungie looks at nothing but numbers so as long as people don’t quit, the MM won’t change.

3 RepliesNo one getting banned for this lol
-
2 RepliesI could name 2 people who are guilty of that, and I just played him and his friend who are doing exactly what you described on playstation to get into lower k/d lobbies instead of playing their equals. One of whom is using _those_ devices as they have a youtube channel and you can clearly see there's 0 recoil on the weapons. Bungie needs to do something about it, it's pathetic tbh
-
1 ReplyLol almost poetic in a way for people who asked for sbmm knowing it would hurt the game for more dedicated players to now have that same system exploited against them. Btw I don't endorse this behavior or anything, but I can appreciate the irony.
-
They should’ve gotten ip banned, what they’re doing is more pathetic then some of the posts in here.
-
This is hilarious and friggin sad. Some seriously pathetic people out there.
-
21 RepliesI would like to point out that I play Destiny with son who is seven years old. You know what game mode he likes to play? Crucible. Obviously I am more skilled than he is. As such we tend to get put in lower skilled lobbies. Why should I throw because of that? Should I be banned for that? If people like you can't handle being beat or refuse to try to improve, maybe it's time to uninstall.

2 RepliesDM me their names pls, I think I know who you mean

2 RepliesEdited by A_mo: 2/10/2023 11:38:30 PMI'm not understanding how the alt accounts would appear on the other team. Or how if someone left while flying in to a match you would be able to tell by looking at match histories. Not saying you're wrong I just don't understand how you'd be able to reliably tell what you're saying is really the case. As far as people from the forums that supposedly do this as far as I can tell the handful of super performing people that post here don't really need to put any extra cheating effort into getting the matchmaking that they end up with.
-
Carries, and there is only one way to manipulate matchmaking and it has nothing to do with KD
-
1 ReplyIt must be network manipulation but they won’t be banned. Sadly this is an issue with SBMM in many games
-
1 ReplyWhy aren't those people permabanned, and their IPs locked forever?
-
3 RepliesVery weird interaction indeed! However, I seem to have to opposite problem when I do strikes— people seem to be manipulating the strike pool by doing the same thing except that instead of sweats, I get absolute burgers that stare at the floor and use blue rocket launchers and auto rifles. Their boss dps rotation consists of throwing a grenade, melee whiffing, and shooting their primary a couple times. My question for the CMs is… can we have sbmm to pve?
-
1 ReplyI don't understand how much manipulation and paid service are in this game. I like competitive gaming but in the end its a game that has never had like serious money paid tournaments so why people take it so serious to abuse the system i will never know or understand.
-
I'd like to know who it was if you can DM me.
-
3 RepliesNone of this is against ToS. Just FYI. It's not cheating lol. Also seems like a lot of work just to play one game and have to do it all over again.
-
That seems convoluted amd not possible. Stop looking for the boogie man with your tim foil hats.
-
1 ReplyHmm that sounds fun, I might try it.
-
3 RepliesLmao. You people are pathetic. First you whine that you want SBMM and now you're complaining about SBMM.
