Firesprites only give back Grenade Energy, and Void Breaches only give you Class Ability Energy?

How is this a good replacement for Elemental wells? No thanks. Just let me keep the Wells, or at least add Armor mods that can help generate energy for your other abilities when you pick them up.

    • Very simple answer. 1. Solar abilities are built to already have VERY strong passive Melee and Class regeneration, and often the Melee is designed to be infinite so long as you defeat a target, or pick the Hammer back up. Grenade regen is the only thing they dont have. 2. Class energy on Void is the most important energy on Void. Devour already regens grenade energy. Melee energy is fairly pointless, outside of Titan, which gets Melee energy from other sources, including, you guessed it, Overshield aka Barricade aka Class energy. Thats why.

        • Honestly how does anyone look at the changes and not see how grossly overpowered were going to be? How do you honestly see all this and think we're getting nerfed? You patrol mode athletes blow my mind.

        • Well mods now generate orbs of power. Not only does this mean that we’ll be getting extra super energy passively during our current builds, but Bungie foresaw the exact complaint that no elemental wells means less ability energy. They’re also giving us an extra general mod slot (the ones that currently house things like Grenade Kickstart, Outreach, and Harmonic Siphon) for a grand total of 3. When combined with no elemental affinity, you can pretty much run the mods on your boots that grant ability energy when picking up an orb of power. Everyone just needs to calm down. We’ll see when lightfall drops.

          • Nah it will 100% be better to be honest. More build crafting for perfection in a build. No longer are the days of wells being a clunky overpriced mess (mainly in energy costs) bring in more things we do on the classes. Incandescent is about to really rock the boat with the new firesprites being generated on scorch kills and solar weapons kills while solar warlocks get cure for starfire builds. And my Void hunter with his Infinite Volitile will absolutly love getting devour by both a void breech which can be spawned by volitile kills and it gives back class energy which is what i need for invis dodge to come back even faster. I already have around 5 new solar builds to try with this and around 3 new void ones.

          • This pretty much what I thought about with orbs not being generated from masterworked weapons. I think they should make an origin trait for all weapons that makes orbs on multi kills if the weapon is masterworked. They didn't need to take it out of the game they just want to nerf us without saying they are nerfing us. This whole armor system is technically a nerf if u really look at it, but they are acting like it's gonna help buildcrafting when it is gonna be the same thing just harder to buff ourselves.

            • Stasis armor was ability spam, and arc was melee. Unless you’re running that warlock aspect, arc’s traces should return just melee energy. Stasis should grant to ability with the lowest cooldown. Stasis is being thrown in the dirt. Stasis was really only good because of how easy it was to spawn wells for CWL and font of might, and now we’re losing all that we had.

            • wells + gives a little to all abilities. new nerfed wells: gives a little to 1 ability, option forcreation is extremely limited. class energy is practically useless on all void classes. grenade recharge on solar from solar breaches is again useless, we got exotics for them. elemental wells was for making stuff work and a little bonus. example: elemental wells, bountiful wells to feed the war machine, etc.

              • Artifact mods will be passive, so more slots for combat/general mods, especially, arms, legs and class items which are source of various energy. No more armor energy types mean we can have momentum (arc) and boisterous (void) to generate melee and class ability. Same with legs and class items. And don't forget you can have both AtA and hands-on for helmet if super is your play. And of course, all mods have reduced energy requirements. For example, AtA, hands on & dynamo just reduce each by 1, you can have them all and one full stat for discipline/strength/mobility. Hunter Arc combination blow combo will have super up in no time. Now hunter is truly gathering storm We won't know how all these stack up. We will see.

              • That's why there's still Arc and Stasis for Ability gains. Traces and Shards I don't think are changing how they work.

              • They are basing them on the ellemental affinity. Solar has ashes to assets and bomber right now...which is grenades...also solar is based on explosions. Void has dynamo and other class ability based mods. Only stasis and arc are backwards. Because arc is melee based but stasis crystals give melee and arc gives everything.

                • I noticed that, so will Arc things give Melee energy? What about Stasis crystals? Are they changing all of them? I'm sure we'll have mods/fragments etc. that will affect the benefits of picking up these elemental offshoots, but they have made it a little confusing with those comments. Need more info Bungle!

                  • It makes it so they double down on each elemental well’s identity, as solar wells have a mod for extra grenade energy and void wells have a mod for extra class ability energy. Besides, you don’t need armour mods to create these or gain additional benefits from them as that is now built into your subclass so you have room to either use new mods that expand even further on them, or use general purpose mods such as damage boosts and damage resists while still getting free ability energy back from your subclass.

                    • They're consolidating elemental wells into orbs of light and the new armor charge system. Orbs already have multiple mods that give you energy of your choice. Odds are high,we're going to see a LOT more Orb generation if they also follow the same generation techniques that Wells do.

                    • A bigger issue is needing to use Fragments to replicate Well builds when they worked alongside whatever Subclass build we had, so this is a stealth nerf in a way. The elements have been tied to certain universal abilities before so it still lines up, but Bungie is arbitrary as to consistency (Arc Titan has a grenade Aspect, what?).

                      • I actually now hope that the coming year is a general disaster for the game. What little faith I had in Bungie is gone and it would be nice if even the most dedicated fanboys had to break down and admit that the sandbox team is flailing in the shallow end.
