You sound like a child who has no idea what you're talking about. The journey is not the Destination. Loot is the end. The gameplay is what matters the most.

In a general sense, I actually agree. I want to tell you that I actually appreciate that you’ve said this despite your insult. However, both do matter and are important. I’d argue that not enough people see it that way though. Which is my point and what makes this the issue. It’s human nature to see a thing we want and try to get or complete it as quickly as possible. Especially if it’s a repetitive task or a checklist of things to be completed. There is a psychologist component to these kinds of games that can’t be ignored. It seems though that developers also use that component to their advantage in an almost exploitative way as well. Not saying that Bungie is necessarily doing that.

  • Imagine if the job of every Titan subclass was to "smash the boss," then you essentially have no Titan subclasses. Just different colors and stale gameplay. This is a discussion of gameplay and not loot. Loot is a different matter for discussion. The Dev's job is to create as many ways to play as possible to optimized fun and player creativity. That's how you expand a game.

If they want to people to use different things and change up what they use more frequently, the game needs to account for that. That’s part of it as well. It can’t just be expected that people will use less efficient things for more challenging activity. If the activities all have very similar demands, you can’t reasonably expect otherwise. They live in a fantasy world if they think that.
