Doing parkour in patrol will be fun for like a day, but who would choose this over a grenade in difficult content?
Why would you build these movement mechanics into your game and then hamstring it so hard by removing a valuable grenade?
I understand that there are only so many inputs on a controller, but dear lord this has to be one of the worst design decisions I've ever seen.
Giving up a class ability or melee would also suck, but both make way more sense than losing your grenade. You seriously pretending like our guardians don't have enough pockets for both things?
I don't know, man. I've lost all excitement for Strand because of Bungie's insistence that there always have to be negative tradeoffs.
Just give us a grapple, bro. Don't steal our grenade.

They will probably nerd grenades into the ground to "incentivize" you.
-
That's why I'm not gonna play in this game after Lightfall starts. Crucible will be broken by hunters.
-
3 RepliesI believe the choice was for balance, can you imagine players swinging around lobbing grenades all over the place? It would get ridiculous
-
We won’t need grenades if we’re making and throwing tangles.
-
2 RepliesBut Spiderman bro! Hahahahahahaha! I bet it will probably be OP just to sell it like throwing money at the screen. Hahahahahahaha! It’s the classic bait and switch scheme so many times here. Hahahahahahaha! Welcome to hollowness!
-
3 RepliesThat's probably what some people were thinking about healing grenades.
-
3 RepliesWe don't know the full extent of the rest of Strand's moveset yet. Heck, we don't even know the rest of Strand's other grenade options yet. They might be nothing more than additional utility. Strand may not need a conventional grenade option.

Maybe not for a grappling hook but will be consuming them for more threadlings. The grenades look pretty lacklustre compared to the melee and class abilities so shouldn't be that much of a loss for a grappling hook. We will also have tangles which can be thrown like grenades that you can grapple to and can also use hunter grapple points without having to lose grenade
-
If it stresses me, I'll just equip a GL. Easy peasy.
-
Me because threadlings
-
Me when it lets me spawn threadlings
-
5 RepliesSpider-Man and Scorpion would.

-
It’s likely going to be a primer for activating other buffs
-
-
It's like healing grenades don't exist and people don't already abuse them any way.
-
I dont know...I heavily rely on Icarus Dash in GMs and Master content these days. Movement is a big benefit.
-
It has offensive abilities too. It’s not just mobility, it’s attack.
-
Wait! We can't use both? That's stupid!
-
Me. lol. And if you think people want it to "do parkour in patrol"......lmao.
-
I don't even use my grenade tbh
-
I am.
-
Ohh, I presumed it would cost your class ability. 🤯
-
Well they stated each Grapple does something at the grapple point or after grappling. In the latest vid, you can see the Hunter, when he grapples, at the point he grapples it also has an explosion. But ya, We will see how it works once released.

I feel like only hunters will really see that as viable based on how they talked about strand hunters being based around “high actions per minute” usage. It depends on how it works really, but I had the same thought and I am a Hunter main at that.
