Bungie pitched us arc 3.0 as being fast. You literally don’t run any faster with the speed boost or being amplified. Your screen just gets an animation that gives you the illusion of running faster and then you look at your teammates running solar and void keeping right up with you. It’s so dumb.

this has been established...the arc boost is nothing more than putting racing stickers and an exhaust on a Camry and thinking it'll be fast.
-
It is faster. You go 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% faster. So, it is faster…

More like just a visual effect
-
I said this on day one. Yes you do move very slightly faster than another player without the buff, but it's strange how it feels really fast but actually isn't. Weird!
-
You are faster, but the speed boost is nowhere near what was advertised. Pretty disappointing.
-
What are you smoking? Just slide around I lose my teammates in seconds
-
There is a speed boost, it’s just not a very big one.
-
1 ReplyThis is factually wrong.
-
It's faster but not by a lot it's like a 5% speed boost and like doubles the jump height but just about every speed boost gives 5% already.
-
that cuz your eyes can only see 3 fps, =)

1 ReplyIt is faster. I believe it’s the same speed as running with one of the movement exotics (stompees, dunemarchers etc) and having a lightweight weapon equipped. If you have those 2 then it’s the same as amplified.
-
2 RepliesI can't stand the increased jump height (needs to be remove or make it toggleable)
-
Edited by Dante: 2/7/2023 3:26:59 PMyou do run faster but there is sprint speed cap at 2 like lightweight weapon and t steps put you at sprint cap speed boster put you at sprint cap
-
You're right kind of. It really is a speed boost. It is faster than running normally. But I can catch up to you with my Titan skate. That's all. Some people just know how to go fast.
-
3 RepliesYeah. I was faster on solar titan with 20 of mobility, then arc hunter with activated boost.
-
You are going faster ... And it also boost your jump height and length
-
2 RepliesYou do go faster. I have 20 mobility, but I speed past teammates with speed boost. Also you jump higher and slide longer.
-
14 RepliesNo you go faster when amplified. I run right by other players. You can tell when you’re in a Strike where there’s typically straight line sprinting to the next engagement.
-
2 RepliesLol, nice rebel post, as an arc main, I get a speed boost everytime I am amplified, you just want to complain on the forums without any proof of it.
-
I love how they toted the speed boost as as fast as they could make it. Iirc, they said they sped the animation up as much as they could and hyped it like it was going to be one of those wacky balance breaking gimicks they'd have to reign back in later. It's only a 10% boost in flat run speed. That's barely anything. The game doesn't have too many instances where that extra 10% movement will be meaningful.

One friend always makes a funny comment when I run past them.

And I’ll zoom right past you with blink on my hunter. Only half the time do I end up dead, though.

I’ve noticed this as well. No truly discernible speed boost occurs.
