While I wish we could have multiple perks in each column of crafted weapons or an easier way to swap between perks, I would be willing to overlook the current state if we could just get rid of the material bottlenecks in crafting.
I am always maxed on Resonant Elements because red borders drop like candy, but I never have any Ascendant Alloy. As soon as I get it to finally drop from a Nightmare Containment (after several hours of runs) it is instantly spent on one of the dozens of leveled up weapons I have queued.
It's exhausting to constantly be up against bs rng even in a system that was intended to remove such burnout factors. Please, even if it means upping the cost of crafting, just guarantee at least 1 alloy per containment. I am aware that they drop in Wellspring, but that requires gathering up a fireteam in the outside app. Sometimes I just want to load up the game and play. Keep the rng for "extra" drops in Wellspring based on tier completion, but again, at least one Ascendant Alloy should be guaranteed per run.
Please start respecting you players' efforts more. I would much rather be engaging with endgame content, than have to listen to the same dialogue from seasonal content for the thousandth time.
Thanks for reading, leave a comment if you are also burned out, or have any of your own suggestions for improvements to the crafting system.

1 ReplyI'm the opposite, I am always full of alloys but always searching for more red borders(and vault space). I run the legendary campaign x3 each week and buy 1 when I can.

Edited by jhermannITJ: 2/4/2023 6:52:25 AMI agree there needs to be more sources, but I have the opposite problem... not enough resonance, because I stack alloy.... If you're seriously about crafting, you need to stack alloy in your postmaster. Especially now before lightfall because containment is going away and the master rotater will be rough to start... I got 38 now and I'll have 40 by lightfall.... You got a few more weeks... this week's master mission "ghosts" is a good farm too. Good luck.

2 RepliesEdited by Amazinite: 2/3/2023 5:01:00 PMFor real. We need some guaranteed/consistent farming sources of alloys. GMs guarantee ascendent shards, why no activity with guaranteed alloys? I run nightmare containments for two hours and get one alloy. I run master campaign missions for an hour and get nothing. I run Ketchcrash for an hour and maybe get two. So even the supposedly higher drop rate sources are pitiful.

2 RepliesYou can literally use LFG on the same app you used to type this whine post. Takes 2 seconds, stop crying
-
2 RepliesWellspring and campaign master missions have a higher drop rate for Aloy. You can also just buy it from rahool
-
Unless you completely adore the weapon that much, i see no point in crafting everything.
-
You really don't need enhanced perks on all weapons. Some are worth it, some not at all.

4 RepliesEdited by Mara Sov’s Step Bro: 2/1/2023 7:05:22 PMNightmare containment? You’re supposed to run Master Wellspring. Takes 2 seconds to use the LFG on the app you’re writing this on

6 RepliesYour farming method is the least efficient way to get them, you're not being bottle necked. Go on lfg and do master wellsprings and ketchcrash, alloy drops pretty regularly. Also the legendary and master level campaign weekly mission does too.

2 RepliesEdited by conkus805: 2/2/2023 12:47:51 AMlegend 1610 weekly mission drops you one upon completion, and you can do it across 3 characters. plus you can buy one from rahool for a total of 4 per week. no rng needed👍

5 RepliesDoesn't wellspring have matchmaking
-
11 RepliesThere's absolutely no need to have enhanced perks even on 30% of weapons that you craft.
-
I just think all the perks should be opened up once it's leveled. The current perk system is just stupid.
-
I have a few alloys...cant use any of them becuase i only ever have like 600 resonate element.
-
1 ReplyOther war around for me but your point remains valid.

Edited by A_mo: 2/1/2023 9:10:45 PMThere should be a way to get them more reliably solo and the 400 legendary shard price for one a week is highway robbery. I could see 200 or maybe 250 but a lot of the time you may want to switch the perk you picked so you have to wait a week then pay master rahools extortion rate for a single alloy. It's also rough given that one of the best things about crafting is that it's on your own personal time table. But throughout the year the 10 alloy cap makes it harder to craft things when you want to and you may be getting more alloys than you want to or can use at certain times and too few during other periods.

2 RepliesThey have plans to allow multiple perks in each slot.

I never have any red border material because I have no desire to use worthless weapons just for the extra mats. So I just don't have more weapons enhanced because I never have 4k of whatever that material is to max it out. Doesn't really bother me as pretty much anything is useful for just about any piece of content in this game so until they make the upgrading process less tedious I will just upgrade when/if I can. It's like they want people to play the game less.

I remember getting a LOT of resonant elements while running nightmare containment on the leviathan. Might be a good farm to take advantage of if your willing to grind it out. Also don't forget you can buy 1 per week from rahool. They aren't super cheap, but legendary shards are more farmable than ever right now due to the temp fix for blue drops that is in place until lightfall
-
Edited by Qiviuq: 2/1/2023 6:52:29 PMActually, once you start putting enhanced perks on your crafted guns, you won't have any resonant elements left, ever. The red border drops don't come fast enough...but also, it's a stupid mechanic because it forces you to use guns you just want to dismantle. They said there'd be new sources in Lightfall (since there won't be any red border drops for uncraftable weapons), but it's terrible atm. Resonant Alloys drop reasonably fast in Master Wellspring (I usually get 2 at once every 3 activities), but that's pretty much the only good source (and I'm guessing it's gonna stop giving them out).

16 RepliesHow many weapon do you craft to get low on those ? I never went below 6

100% agree
