Full Auto needs some adjustments

Allowing the ability to turn on Full Auto has been helpful with some weapons such as hand cannons, side arms, fusion rifles, and glaves. However I have also found that having that on has had some not so desirable effects. I have mostly noticed it with the new pulse rifle "revision zero" and some high RPM shotguns. Mainly, I cannot release the trigger button fast enough to not fire a second or third round. In this case, being able to choose a single weapon or weapon type to ignore Full Auto would help. For the most part I never want Full Auto on a shotgun.. Revision Zero is a more tricky one. In regular fire mode Full Auto is fine, but once I switch to the special fire mode, I may pull to fire one precision shot, but in the time it takes to pull and let go, two shots tend to be fired, with the second one being far off target. For that one gun, reducing the fire rate during Full Auto would help those who cannot let go fast enough, but allow those who can quick pull fast enough can still trigger, but for other weapons I am not sure the best solution other than allowing each weapon a toggle for Full Auto, and instead the current setting in the settings menu as a default for new weapons.

  • Considering it took bungie 3 full seasons to implement the full auto toggle after announcing it then taking 8 weeks to fix the bug causing weapons to “jam”, I don’t think toggles based on weapon type can happen.

    • There's a glitch with it. I know I am holding down the trigger and it stops half way through the magazine.

      • Try re- customise your controller in the Destiny settings to toggle the button layout it may help.

      • I agree. For almost every weapon, it’s no problem. Some feel a bit weird, however. Rev Zero and Veles-X come to mind. Maybe we need an un-full-auto retrofit mod. Or a per weapon toggle. It’s not a game breaker but (to me at least) it makes some weapons feel worse to use.

      • For those who wonder how I handle other FPS games, the only other FPS game I play is Titanfall 2. Even with that game I only use Assault Rifles or LMG and Thunderbolt. And mostly Scorch or Monarch followed by Legion (and Northstar in FD only) as in both games I prefer AOE effects, tank, and support over quick reacting or precision titans or weapons (hence in D2 I never play hunter). Its my AOE skills that are the reason I am Silver rank in competitive crucible.

      • Only fourth horseman is a high RMP shotgun. And it already has full auto by itself.

        • There is a setting for it? I was over here putting the mods on for it. Like the tarnished mettle, fourth times the charm...voltshot...skip rounds...fluted barrel....full auto. It is a beast at adds AND big crit bosses...but I want to use boss spec and full auto to really beef it up. Youre saying...I can?

          • The bug you speak of where you hold the trigger and your gun does not fire also happens to weapons that are inherently automatic. Had this issue happen a few times in pvp now where I pull out my SMG and it does not fire because I left full auto on. So now I try my best to remember to disable the option before heading into the crucible

            • Bows do not work well with full auto, cancelling triggers a shot.

              • Then how about you put the mod on the specific weapons you want full auto for?
