I find it to be hilarious that all pro hunter posts get down voted.

Reduce it at least like -20

12 RepliesYou are conflating two different things. Stompees were not nerfed because if the movement they provide. They were nerfed because of usage numbers. AE was put in too reduce movement skill gap. SBMM addresses the skill gap, so AE is being toned down. SBMM does not address Stompees movement, so they remained nerfed. If you want Stompees underfed then don't use them so much. That's it.

1 ReplyEdited by michael: 1/30/2023 3:47:14 PMit is astonishing to me that the past season has shown us what the meta devolves into when the movement abilities are nerfed and people still, still, STILL have this vehement hatred towards stompees and hunters in general. I dont even main hunter in fact it is my least favourite class for PvP and when I use it I use dragons shadow anyway, I did even before the AE changes. But seriously, after a whole season of the meta being dmt, sidearms, smgs, khepri's sting, gyrfalcon, citan walls, peacekeepers, and defender overshields with the "periphery" meta being ophidian lunge, the voidwalker melee, the stormcaller melee, gemini jesters, and antaeus wards, people still think Stompees, shotguns, and movement in general is a plague on PvP. Im convinced no one has played, people just come on here and say whatever, they burst into tears after dying once in pvp because they let someone get in the OHK range of 7m with a shotgun or when they dont have the awareness to look at the radar or hear someone jump over their head.

19 RepliesAE was implemented to nerf "pogo" stompee Hunters. They achieved the goal without penalizing everything else in the game with this new change. Something had to be done about stompee Hunters and they did it. The nerf will stay I promise you. It's best to move on from those boots if you want aerial aiming ability.

1 ReplyI see a lot of ppl in here that never learned to look up or increase their sense past default settings.

Its hilarious how Bungie just nerfs hunters left and right because of usage rates. Bungie is incompetent.
-
Were you wearing your Stompess and stomping your foot on the ground while writing this? I think that would be hilarious on a literal level.
-
1 ReplyMy theory on the nerf for Stompee AE was because it is the most used Hunter exotic and increased movement. Bungie wanted to slow the game down for Consoles players coming to PC so they introduced AE and had to have the hunters be slowed down. AE is a stupid stat and shouldnt have become a thing. If we have to adapt to console controllers then they should have to adapt towards the speed of PC lobbies. They also probably did it to force hunters to play with difference exoctics. Its said (for all 3 classes) that we have cool exocitics but we use the ones that are the best and havent touchs some of them.
-
19 RepliesUse your imagination and use literally any other exotic. Stompees are so boring.
-
33 RepliesI find it amazing that hunters got their stompies nerfed yet Warlocks actually got an AE buff. My stake here is zero as I don't like/play PvP and only ever used stompies for the occasional jumping puzzle, never in PvP, but it screams bias to me to completely destroy one game play style for one class while simultaneously buffing the same game play style for another. I really don't understand Bungo logic at times.

It’s crazy that other class exotics revolving around being in the air increase AE but stompies reduce AE. Doesn’t make any sense. If they want to do something about stompies they did it wrong. Now you get punished for having a more fun movement option any time you decide to use it.

-blam!- no. Shove your boots up your -blam!-.

They should just bring back bones at this point

Mmmmm hunter tears, delicious!

AE was a band-aid with no adhesive

In my opinion, movement exotics should negatively impact AE; while weapon exotics should Positively impact AE and ability regeneration or ability manipulation exotics should impact AE on certain weapons. With that being said exotics such as Stompees and Transversive should negatively impact AE slightly more than Icarus grips positive impact; and the worst amount of AE any exotic gives should only be by 30 (unless a movement exotic comes out that wildly changes the game) while positive benefits can go up to 50. I didn’t mention any Titan exotics because I don’t use any exotics other than Hoarfrost…
-
Stompees were nerfed due to usage also. The AE change did bring them down but they’re still number 1. I still use them and many good players do too.
-
Just change Stompees to do something else and put the exotic perk concept naturally into the class. I dont like Stompees but trying to use Triple Jump or Strafe Jump without them is saddening and underperforming. I stay on High Jump because it gives me the elevation I need to feel comfortable without the need for Stompees.
-
2 RepliesIt's interesting that that's true, and straight from Bungies mouth. AE was implemented to lower the skill gap. With SBMM in place anyway, there's no reason to have it as a thing.
-
Yes 100 times! There is no reason that they should be the only exotic that give you a negative AE!

4 RepliesI was a hunter main since D2 launch. Have almost not played a single pvp match on Hunter since they nerfed stomps into the ground. Titan and warlock are just way better now. And before you say "just use a different exo then". Yea do you want me to heal spam with wormhusk? Or spam volatile and damage buffs in pvp with falcons? Or take others radar away every 5 seconds? Nah i'm good. I like cheese but only cheddar on my burger. So yea, Hunter is THE mobility class and only felt like it with stompees. Just because some controller players can't look up fast enough, they shouldnt make the entire class unfun to play in pvp imo.

59 RepliesStompees are the most used Exotic. They don't need a buff to be viable
-
2 RepliesNo, it needed the nerf.
