Title. Especially for Trials. I want the exile armor sets on my titan and warlock, but the amount of time it would take at 7 engrams a piece is so brutal, I probably won't even attempt it.
Calling it rn: the cost is this high at the start because there will always be those players who don't complain or complain and do it anyways, but once those people get their gear, Bungie will substantially lower the cost so that there's a renewed interest in getting the armor for everyone else. It seems to be their new "pursuit" design philosophy.

1 ReplyI mean yea i thought the same. Everyone is that hungry for the exile set "finally" returning that they will just grind it out and give them free playtime to show bungies investors how popular and great the game is. Bungie literally designs their entire game as a time sink these days. Just value your players time for once ffs. Same thing with the deep stone crypt deepsight weapon drop rates. They literally know what they are doing when they make everything extremely grindy. They know ppl will grind it out. Then they pull a little "oops we saw some complaints that drop rates are too low, heres better drop rates". Do that once and i will call it a mistake. Do it twice, i will say "come tf on". Bungie has done it 50 times. What is there to say anymore. They are min maxing with our valuable lifetime and keep wasting it intentionally. This company is trash these days.

7 Repliesbungie philosophy: create a problem, sell a half baked solution, sell the solution to that solution.

I think it’s unreasonable that they bring back some old content we haven’t had access to in a long time and make it cheaper to focus, especially for those who are collectors.
-
3 RepliesGotta get people to play Trials somehow.
-
Even three is crazy high. But seven? Cmon… bungie.
-
Yeah, we can't just have nice things. There has to be some kind of ridiculous grind involved. With that being said, I should probably read the blog post so I look like I know what the -blam!- I'm talking about.
-
2 RepliesTotally agree the just lowered ingame focus cost because they were too high then they come out with this bs the whole reason people wanted old armour was because we dont have it this cost is reddiculas
-
You are so right it seems like their time with Activision actually taught them something..... unfortunately.

1 ReplyEdited by Astartes Marine: 1/26/2023 10:56:22 PMLet's be honest, it's 7 engrams to keep the "muh prestigiousness" crowd happy. You know the type.
-
Bro 7 engrams ain’t hard win or lose you get rep by days end you’ll have enough for the whole set all you have to do before light fight save up your engrams on you characters , that’s 30 off the rip before light fall even starts and just play on what ever character you want the whole set done first

Edited by 堺市 Rinzler (PRIMARCH): 1/27/2023 4:53:18 PMShould be 3 for those who already had it in D2, 4 for D1 vets who earned it prior to D2, and 5 for those who never had it in either game.
-
Not even happy with essentially free handouts...jeez there's no pleasing some ppl!
-
2 RepliesIt took a long time back then to get these armors. Especially when they were at 7 wins. Now you can get them by losing most of your matches. Seems fair.
-
honestly would just want a few pieces of each set

2 RepliesEdited by jhermannITJ: 1/27/2023 1:12:00 AMIt's not 7... that's a mischaracterization, it's 3 if you gotten it. 7(4) is the toll you pay for not earning it in the 1st place. No line jumping... if you didn't earn your spot, you'll have to earn it like we did. It's 7 the 1st time, then you've unlocked it... then it's 3. Before you earn it, you're paying 4 engrams to unlock it, then 3 to focus... it's just combined in a single transaction. Maybe it should be 5 or 6 though, I'll come your way a bit.

1 ReplyAgreed. Should be 5 for not previously obtained and 2 for obtained. Thats more than fair enough and a large enough time investment.

1 ReplyTo be clear, the following Engram costs are to Focus Legacy gear you have not previously unlocked: Legacy Crucible Armor: 3 Legacy Nightfall Weapon : 7 Legacy Vanguard Armor: 3 Legacy Gambit Armor: 3 Legacy Iron Banner Armor/Weapon: 7 Legacy Trials Armor/Weapon: 7 - For items that are unlocked in your Collection tab (from having either earned them from their intended activity when they were originally available or having previously Focused at their increased cost) the number of Engrams needed changes to this: Legacy Crucible Armor: 1 Legacy Nightfall Weapon : 3 Legacy Vanguard Armor: 1 Legacy Gambit Armor: 1 Legacy Iron Banner Armor/Weapon: 3 Legacy Trials Armor/Weapon: 3 - So, for example, If you wanted a god roll for Reed’s Regret but failed to get it when it was originally available (either through not having played Trials at the time or from particularly poor RNG) it would cost 7 Trials Engrams to Focus it the first time and then 3 Trials Engrams for each subsequent attempt to Focus the same weapon. I imagine this difference in Engram costs for Legacy Focusing between previously obtained and not previously obtained (as well as the cost difference between Focusing currently available equipment and Legacy gear) is to convince active players to try to obtain the gear they want before it is removed from the loot pool in order to save potential time spent later down the road. While this is of course to some degree relies on FOMO, it is a much less severe form of FOMO compared to previous years where not obtaining an item while it was originally available meant waiting months or possibly years to see if the item was brought back. (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

2 RepliesIt is only 7 if you have NOT gotten said item yet other wise it is 3
