I am getting right to the point. Mobility needs to offer more benefits in PvE.
Hunter Stats suffer from the way the Stat System works while it benefits Titans and Warlocks. On those Classes I can easily split my Stats into T10 Resilience, T10 Recovery and T10 Discipline without losing anything important. On my Hunter I have to choose between Recovery and Mobility.
Since Mobility is pretty important for Hunter Dodge, even more important thanks to all the Nerfs, we have to sacrifice all the Recovery. Yet, Mobility does not offer other benefits that justify this sacrifice. Titans and Warlocks can still move faster and jump just as high or even higher BUT they do not lose their Class Ability Regen/Shield Regen.
Solution: Mobility grants passive benefits, for example Evasion in PvE that grants a chance to ignore Damage.
Edit: When I am saying Warlocks and Titans can still move faster I am talking about Glide and Lift. Don´t know many Players that are walking everywhere with these classes. ;)

6 RepliesI'm tired of all the "Hunters are the slowest class" rubbish. Since when was mobility only determined by speed in a straight line? You've already dismissed the strafe speed and jump height bonuses, now consider the movement options that Hunters can use mid-combat. What can Titans and Warlocks do that is even remotely comparable to Stompies jump comboed into Shatterdive into Dodge into extended slide into another Stompies jump? This video demonstration will illustrate it better than words ever could - https://youtu.be/uA5gz_SLvgs?t=354 I know the Stompies are the topic of the video and can be a separate debate entirely, but the fact is that Hunters have those tools available to them. A common suggested solution is to add AE bonuses to Mobility, but that would only widen the existing movement gap. And come on, free immunity for having high Mobility? That definitely won't get exploited. The chance for it to happen would have to be so low that it's not even worth considering, or else it would be so good that you can't not use it. Incentivising people to run both Mobility and Resilience would leave Recovery in a rut, and we know Warlocks don't get buffs round these parts.

4 RepliesBungie has shown a clear bias towards Warlocks and Titans often allowing obviously broken mechanics to stay in the game for months/years while instantly nerfing anything that even approaches decent for Hunters. Hunters are supposed to be the "movement" class yet they've given Warlocks and Titans free almost continuously spammable movement techniques far surpassing a Hunter dodge. As Bungie has continued to lean into this philosophy I've been spending less and less time playing. It's a shame but Bungie seems bound and determined to torpedo this game. Bungie is where fun goes to die.

5 RepliesEdited by Ferus Lux: 1/22/2023 6:43:28 AMDodge % chance paired with Resilience would be hilarous. Triple 100's in Mobility, Resilience, and Recovery. You'd be unkillable. Bungie would never let us have this lol.

9 RepliesNothing, but be 100% sure they will nerf resillience cause the streamers on twitter, YT, etc. are asking for it. Expect it before Lightfall. Any twab now...
-
I'm just gonna say, the system doesn't really do -blam!- for warlocks right now either since recovery doesn't matter either. Once resilience got that massive change, that's the only character stat that's mattered since. I know recovery helps more than mobility for sure, since mobility just does nothing, but just wanna throw that in here. I think both could use a once over, its only fair that both get the swanky buff that resilience got.

1 ReplyAgreed with you OP. Plus, with the upcoming dodge nerf, any points you invest into mobility will net you less benefits than it does currently. For hunters, it's an indirect mobility stat nerf too, which sucks. I'm really hoping the mention of reducing stat buffs from some mods doesn't apply to powerful friends... Otherwise, my main hunter setup (pve) is going to end up triple nerfed. I know there are some good things coming too, but im just REALLY hoping this isn't going to be a one step forward and 2 steps back situation for my favorite builds

2 RepliesIt's fine. Yet another reason not to buy lightfool.

1 ReplyMobility should of had an affect on run speed since the beginning. Having to use things like sword skating is not something console players can replicate consistently.
-
1 ReplyHonestly sprint speed is the easiest way to fix everything, make it give .5-1-1.5-2-2.5-3-2.5-2-2.5-1 percent bonus spring speed at every level. In addition to everything else it already does at maximum level that’s a 18% sprint speed bonus. Noticeable but not game destroying
-
Some ideas I was thinking were.. Increase ready speed and aim speed of weapons Increase slide length Increase melee speed(might possibly break the game lol)
-
2 RepliesThe solution is to touch grass once in a while.
-
Maybe high mobility increases moving accuracy/aim assist kind of like moving target. Recovery could also increase flinch recovery when getting shot while ads.
Solution: Mobility grants passive benefits, for example Evasion in PvE that grants a chance to ignore Damage.
Let’s not have it be rng based :)

Did someone say "Payday 2"?

I do have a idea, that is disconnected the ability’s from stats Give them a set cool down that can’t be edited and find a better way to deal with flinch, but also make it so hunters are the fastest class in the game, since they are known to be agile, meaning quick on their toes and know everything they need to do But it really should be more based on how you want to play, I get the stats is what makes the armour important, but it’s quite complicated if you have to stat into multiple stats

The evade is a good idea
-
I mean, I feel like doing something like giving Mobility something to improve handling wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe mobility would increase the animation speed of your abilities. Like T10 mobility giving 40% reduced ability animation duration. Obviously that number is just a placeholder for whatever would be balanced, but being mobility is all about being fast instead of resisting damage or healing faster.
-
1 ReplyBetter solution- don't nerf dodge/barricade cooldowns or mods that help cooldowns or stats.
-
1 ReplyI imagine this would be very difficult to code, but perhaps mobility would affect enemies accuracy when shooting at you, giving the allusion that you are regularly dodging shots (other than actually dodging).

Nothing. I would LIKE it to affect AE, but the answer is they're going to do nothing.
-
4 RepliesBase ability affects your jump height and movement height, I run noticeably slower and walk slower than most people I see, not trying to take a side, just addressing a point you made
