Basically just title. The ikelos weapons were just rereleased with new perk pools that make them pretty good for all content, so it’s just kind of odd that warmind cells are being considered for deletion so quickly, when i can easily see a few new mod / exotic / crystal interactions and minimal buffs making them viable again.

Your mistake was assuming this season has anything to do with the season of worthy mods, Bungie brought back the weapons so they could be crafble and benefit from the new perks, and even if they did interact with the mods, no one would use them for warmind cells -
Edited by Smough: 1/22/2023 6:18:22 AMI wouldn’t be surprised if it was because of some weird backend engine issue.
-
35 RepliesThat's exactly the issue - they are basically tied to Ikelos and Seventh Seraph weapons.
-
Warmind cells have been trash since they got nerfed and only work with ikelos/seraph weapons. I’d rather not have them clutter up my mod inventory when building my loadout.
-
Warmind cells surely aren’t as good as they used to be. A shame really because they could’ve been brought back in some useful form or manner this season.

Edited by LiftAnEye: 1/19/2023 5:43:33 PMAll the posts about "don't shoot my warmind cells." Good times

1 ReplyOh dont worry they'll be back.... for a price.

My Seventh Seraph HC has 25K with the help of Warmind Cells. Cayde had his Ace this was mine.

I like the warmind cells

They essentially toy with us because they can.

Bungie is nerfing the entire game and they dressed it up with the new buildcrafting. Warmind cells, wells etc are all getting nerfed on top of abilities and then pushing for a new armor grind. The way to picture it… we are getting reset

1 ReplyEven tho I haven't used them in ages, I'm disappointed and a bit disgusted that Bungie is just deciding to remove them altogether. No other MMO does this. All other ones add on to their games to either enhance the playing experience or match it with something new. Bungie has become the absolute laziest developer in the business because it's just easier to remove aspects of their game in order to avoid balancing and working around preset playstyles and scenarios. My friends list is slowly starting to die off in this game and I can't wait till they all decide to move onto the next game, cuz they are the only thing keeping me playing this for the comradery and socialization.

1 ReplyEdited by Lord Indra: 1/19/2023 7:58:38 PMDon’t listen to any of these goofballs. Warmind cells are still good, just not broken like before. And because the game has turned into ability spam + Linears, Warmind Cells are overlooked because they do their own thing. Regardless of how useful/useless someone thinks it is, it still was a option nonetheless, which only helps the game (IMO). If every other mod got an update then why couldn’t Warmind Cells get an update? Especially revolving around a season with hmmmm idk.. Warminds, Rasputin, and Ikelos weapons? If you ask me, I feel like when they playtested all the mods for the LF update, they must’ve realized how good some of the combinations were and decided to get rid of them. Probably because Strand will operate in a somewhat similar manner? Who knows. But if people here are saying free damage reduction, ad stunlock, and throwing a bomb on a ad, and free AoE dmg is useless then we must not be playing the same game. Then again, these are the same people that rely on streamers and YouTubers to tell them how to play Destiny 2. They wouldn’t know how to build craft on their own if their life depended on it.

Warmind cells by design are either too good or too weak tbh. Wont miss those
-
They were fun pre-nerf. Now between their questionable utility and the limited amount of weapons that could make them, it honestly makes sense. I haven't bothered since the nerf and I've only seen a handful from other players. I miss clearing a room with one in DSC. I also kinda miss the unintended splash damage causing wipes by hitting stuff at the exact wrong time lol
-
It might be there flexibility. You can spawn them. Shoot them. Throw them. Your shielded by their proximity... enemies can be de-powered by proximity. You can blow them up big or small do extra burn damage... Clearly uses were created on the fly.

3 RepliesI think Rasputin is going to be destroyed or will somehow sacrifice himself. No more of the weapons will drop, no more Rasputin mods

-
I am glad they are going away. They came out super strong because they were made during a season that the original seraph weapons would get sunset. The seraph weapons didn’t because Bungie changed gears. Then the community asked to include the ikelos weapons, which they did. Then because of their overly powerful nature they needed a nerf since they were going to stick around. As a result of the nerf no one uses them. I expected Bungie to finally put them away. Now they can reissue the revolver and others with better perks down the line since the original weapons had some poor options because Warmind cells were their point. Meanwhile there were just a lot of gameplay issues with cells, namely other people shooting them and you not getting the benefit. Cells have no aim assist on console. They’re just clunky and probably mean a lot more work than they need and buffing them was not a good idea. Bungie made the right call here.

1 ReplyIt's a pitty they been removed as I actually kinda liked them. After all who doesn't like shooting at explosive barrels in FPS games? Pre nerf they where like mini nukes... I'll be sad to see em go tbf. Even if they wherent that great after the nerf
-
20 RepliesDude warmind cells haven’t been relevant for more than a year. They aren’t that good and we can do without.
-
1 ReplyI remember when warmind cells were great at add clear. Unfortunately light 3.0 can just delete entire rooms of enemies along with short cooldowns that there's no reason to spawn a cell in the first place.
-
Don’t worry they’ll reskin them in a year, rename them Warmind Cells 2.0, and make us regrind for the weapons. 👍
-
I think part of it has to do with the mods. So ppl dont have to waste a slot for a warmind cell they just removed the cells altogether. Imo, that had something to do with it.
-
2 RepliesI never really found them that useful. I felt they were a bit gimmicky, like the hierarchy of needs guidance rings.
-
4 RepliesNot really, Warmind cells were basically dead on release and virtually nobody even uses them anymore - they were a bad design that didn’t work as well as passives like CWL
