Instead of having a chest which randomly drop a piece of gear, you can interact with the chest and chose a piece of loot that the encounter can “drop”
Armor stats and weapon perks are still random, so you can still farm if you want
As a solo player, this change would increase my interest in these activities of 1000%
Beacuse it’s so annoying to get stuff you don’t care about from these type of activities, which instead should be the most satisfying and rewarding ones
Edit:
I see many people don’t like this idea, and i more and more understand that this would probably never happen because of that
But a small change is better than nothing so how about this:
You can also buy gear that is not in your collection from the chest at the very end of a raid
One of this 2 limits could be implemented: if it’s not in your collection it costs 40 (or even 50) spoils of conquest OR it costs 20 but you can only buy 1 new item per week per account if it’s not in your collection (although i bet many will say to implement both limits)
This would give you a chance to “fix” your bad luck in raids

I think because dungeons take a lot less investment they don't feel they deserve crafted weapons or something like a spoils chest. Unfortunatley if you're a solo player you just play a painful game for solo play.
-
I'd be fine if each encounter gives you a choice between weapon drops and armor drops. Doesn't have to be a specific one but at least you're getting what you're closer to what you want. I mean I haven't gotten anything but Seraph gear so far from spire.
-
This is a perfect example of the more the player base is babied and given the more they will demand. Having a choosing feature in raids makes sense but dungeons it doesn’t. People don’t like rng because they are lazy or entitled but it’s a core of looter shooters.

2 RepliesDude its an mmo style game. You chase gear in every game for every update.

Edited by Fate: 1/18/2023 11:06:10 AMWon’t happen because then it won’t have replayability the whole point is to make people grind for what their after
-
Well at the end of a raid you could use spoils to buy more weapons with random stats and perks/rolls and armor also
-
No ❣️

I mentioned this yesterday for lost sector exotic. At the end have 3 random armors and pick which one you want. Did 5 legend LS yesterday and got glimmer/key codes only every time. Before that did 3 legend and 2 master LS and got cores and codes everytime. So 10 runs with nothing to show for it. Than u have to pray that its the one your looking for
-
this would decrease playtime and replayability so... Bungie - No. also how would this work for exotics?
-
I stopped having expectations of No-fungie after Pocket Infinity never got fix... in D1. D2 has some gameplay moments, but not nearly as much content as there are "not sparrow horn" cosmetic items. I almost miss the Content Droughts over the Cosmetic Monsoons. Coming back to the game for a dlc hits differently then having seasons to fill in the gap. At this point, I pinnacle run for power levels, say "hi" to my warlock and his non-warlock sidekicks; and go "pew-pew-pew" to enemies as well as guardians whom also magically were not around when the Cabal attacked. *Side note* Some of the guardians on these forums need Super Good Advice in their life and it shows. 😂🤦🏾♂️

1 ReplyYours idea is not that bad. Thing is, if you compete raid/dungeon 13 times and over by single character, you will get everything for him. Maybe except for exotic, some people just unlucky about it.
-
2 RepliesI choose Vex Mythoclast.

3 RepliesAt the beginning of Destiny 2 Luke smith had it to where the drop rates were cranked up big time…. You literally played for 1 month and had every exotic. At first it was really exciting, but once you got everything it was very meh’. Seemed like there was nothing to do and the forums lit up with complaints. The one time the developer went against the original formula and “listened to us”, let the players have fun gave them everything they wanted, they all threw stones. This is what drove Luke to commit to a 10 year war, vowed to get revenge, ever so slowly, strangling our fun like a python.

This already exists in most raids?

9 RepliesEdited by AubsTheBelieber: 1/17/2023 3:05:40 AMThis is a looter and shooter dude. No. And personally, so many weapons I would have never used before, "or selected from the chest", I used and loved cause of random drops. If you only get what you THINK you want, you have no ability to be forced to try other stuff and love that stuff.
-
A looter shooter needs to have rng to give yah that chase. It's not like doing raids is boring or awful they're fun
-
No reason they can’t. And this is already in the game for raids.
-
I like that idea. Also dungeos should get the same treatment as all the new raids aka craftable weapons. I'm weird, but I like spending more time having fun with my weapons than chasing them... It might be possible that it comes in the future, you know to revitalize the interest in playing those activities, kinda like Bungie did with DSC. What would be also nice is if old dungeons like Prophecy got a master difficulty and artifice armor. We'll see.
-
At least let us either banish armor drops or weapon drops.
-
As a person who LITERALLY gets 75-80% armor, I would love being able to choose said rewards after doing content.
-
Edited by DioMorniStar: 1/17/2023 7:31:46 AMOh and by the way exotics and red border weapons would still be random of course
-
Season of arrivals had amazing player agency, excellent time for me to come back to the game. I got multiple sets of high stat armour and various god rolls on weapons. It was great and I spent a lot of time enjoying the loot I acquired. Shame they back-pedalled from there.

1 ReplyRespecting players time. If that phrase ever makes it into a higher ups meeting at Bungie, the people who actually have a saying will burst out in laughter and fire the person who brouught it up. It's literally that far from reality sadly. Bungie has an interest in wasting our time as much as possible if you wanna believe it or not through your rose tinted glasses. This company did everything possible to put 20 rng layers into the game to make players waste their time and make them addicted throughout the chase for something they want. There were literal trainings for Bungie employees to get players addicted and therefore spend more time in the game and buy more mtx's. This company has one thing and only that one thing in mind. Revenue.

17 RepliesBungie prefers the gambling addiction approach.

Like focusing maybe

1 ReplyI've often expressed that I would enjoy the ability to choose my drop at the conclusion of an endgame activity. It would greatly assist in target farming for reaching pinnacle cap. It's one of the reasons I feel like Season of Opulence was so praised since it gave players the ability to specifically dictate what pinnacle dropped for them.
