Let’s be honest, most of us don’t really want to talk to one another. We’re good playing content together, but prefer not to speak. So can we get some content that requires less communication?
-
2 RepliesWe already have plenty of that. Exotic missions, Legendary Seasonal Content, Dungeons, and even GMs can be done without communication. That leaves only Raids. And personally, I don't feel that should change.
-
Remember the best endgame loot is friendship…
-
Um no.
-
Suck it up buttercup it’s a cooperative and team based game
-
actually the OPPOSITE needs to happen. This game is a multi-hundred dollar participation trophy as is. GM's can be done with random blueberries FFS Go play mine craft and stop ruining the game for the rest of us with two thumbs 👍
-
In pve it's only raids that require comms tbh
-
2 RepliesTrue they have been doing more of that lately with the campaign legend and exotic quests so would be nice to have some more content that doest require mics tbh we need a chat wheel For example strike chat wheel .don't revive me .stay in cover .nice job .i hate Champions but there coming up .no ammo .don't you die on me four leaf Emotes and chat finish for rest

1 ReplyAnd lose all the top tier Banta that comes with a game as goofy as Destiny? Yeah no thanks more coms pls lol

6 RepliesEdited by Bl nd L ght: 1/14/2023 10:49:34 AMMeeting people, playing with a team and interacting with others is literally what this action MMO is created to do separately from other fps. Bungie need to lean into what makes D2 different not liken it to other experiences elsewhere. You can play any number of games solo.

Dungeons>Raids.
-
2 RepliesI think Dungeons are the perfect example of good content that requires no communication. I literally never speak to anyone when doing a dungeon, I exclusively just use the text chat and works out just fine since most people know what they’re doing.
-
But… but I like talking to people. :’(
-
Dungeons. I never talk in them unless someone is about to die.
-
So dumb down the game and make it even easier?

[quote]Let’s be honest, most of us don’t really want to talk to one another. We’re good playing content together, but prefer not to speak. Let's just put that out there so we settle expectations Second, please involve content that doesn't revolve around instant death mechanics and heqd back to the basics of FPS please.

1 Reply-blam!- no
-
The only content that requires communications are raids. Strikes, Gambit, and Crucible don't. Crucible and Gambit are advantageous to the team to have comms, but not required. Dungeons only need comms the first few weeks when it's new and people are trying to figure things out. After that, it's the responsibility of the player to look up the mechanics and contribute to the team.
-
Other than raids, no content requires communication to be successful. The new dungeon requires 0.
-
There's a lot of content that requires no communication. Core playlists along with legend seaonal activities and many others can be completed with/without a fireteam (deppending on the activity) and require no communication. Even some dungeons can be completed without communication once you get enough practice. However, more intricate mechanics that reqire callouts in raids and certain dungeons should requre some form of communication. Raids have always been designed to be completed by teams being able to fight and communicate effectivly and it should be up to the player to find a team that can communicate regardless of how some may feel.
-
I think most of the dungeons have accomplished this. Grasp of Averice, to me, is a good example. Even the new dungeon seemed pretty easy to figure out without taking. I do not want raids to be dumbed down. They need to maintain the teamwork aspect to keep my interest. When it comes to raids, I do not sympathize with people -blam!- to use a mic and are not experts in raids. Those who can efficiently raid without a mic are the exception, not the rule, and I have zero problems with them.
-
3 RepliesBefore writing this, people should learn how to trow a -blam!- ball.
-
also doesn't help that all the context messages that you need are tiny transparent text in the bottom corner of your screen. If things actually made sense it would be one thing. But the raid physics in bungie are "I have the flaming mango! I'm delivering it to the monkey! - And I'm standing on one foot and picking my nose cross eyed! - I'm shooting the yellow beam out of the phallic object! - okay damage phase about to start, oh -blam!- who gave the pineapple to the aardvark?! Damn it! Wipe, wipe, we'll try it again." And you do this over and over.
-
6 RepliesImma be real, raid mechanics where some players see a symbol and have to tell the ones that can’t see what the symbol is. It’s getting a little old.

4 Replies[quote]Let’s be honest, most of us don’t really want to talk to one another. We’re good playing content together, but prefer not to speak. We do get that every season, so I'm not really sure what you are asking for

1 ReplyAt first thought I was on board with this idea. Then reading through the comments, I agree that you don’t need to be overly social to make simple callouts in a raid….. This request of yours is to basically make raids easier so that callouts aren’t required. Im not on board with that logic. Everything is easy enough as is for me.

So you want more strikes. Gotcha.
