Idk if Bungie is getting back at players for the dismantle blues exploit some people were doing not so long ago or something, but it's crazy how expensive it is to do literally anything involving spending legendary shards. Going into Iron Banner last week I started with 14k and eventually was down to the 9k range from focusing. Focusing in general is way expensive (50 for crucible weapons) vs the amount you get from dismantling legendary gear (4), the primary means of getting them. And it hasn't exactly gotten any better since Bungie decided to replace all instances of spending planetary materials with spending shards instead
