Dear Bungie,
Please allow owners of previous season passes the ability to level those passes. I don't understand why cosmetics and gear should be time-gated for players who payed for the season. Not everyone can play each season and it is frustrating to miss out on content that you own. There is already a feature allowing players access to previous seasonal loot if they forgot to acquire it. Why not take it a step further and allow owners the ability to access/earn them all, even those from previous "years"?

Agreed, or better yet. Since its old. Just let us claim the rewards and be done with it.

Edited by Numbskull: 4/28/2024 6:06:54 PMTrue, the best way to handle this would be that if you finish leveling your current season pass you can basically level up a past season pass you own, but only if you have paid for the season. This way we don't just get eververse engrams every non-existent 5 levels. This could even help sales and player engagement and mitigate burnout helping keep player count stable and high unlike with the drop of an expansion where a high influx of players basically overload the server (I think). Additionally this can really help new players so that they can experience events like
Rasputin's death from season of the seraph
and other story events without having to scratch their head and feeling barred from the game's story when a new expansion drops.

agree! this can not be to difficult for Bungie to implement. Just let us chose what season pass we want to make progress on at the time. For the time being there is activities from 4 seasons active in the H.E.L.M. Season of the Wish, Witch, Deep and Defiance. Players should be able to get the rewards from all these seasons. lvl 1-100 untill the H.E.L.M reset for Final Shape.

6 RepliesEdited by Major-Payne: 1/12/2023 8:58:56 PMBungie would like you to play the game. Nothing more nothing less. The season pass is up for 3 months! That’s a long -blam!- time. Everyone uses FOMO as an excuse to feel like they’re owed something because they personally missed out. You missed out. So what, the world moves on with ore without you. If this stuff is so important to you now do better next time. Bungie doesn’t really owe you anything.

5 RepliesI actually agree, say for example that you're going into the military like basic training, etc... You completely miss out on that season pass content. The general content is still there, but if you're going through basic training for the military, you absolutely don't get a chance to level up that season pass

3 RepliesBecuase the fear of missing out keeps players playing. Bungie is a business and unfortunately has to maintain a quarterly player base. Giving people various seasonal progression at the same time would be less profitable than the fear of missing out business structure. Although, personally as a consumer I do agree and I feel like it would push Destiny as the only game to offer this and thus, improve their (pretty bad) public perception.

"No." - Bungie
-
5 RepliesPretty sure no game with a season/battle pass system allows access to old passes. Besides, the D2 pass takes WAYYYY less time to finish than passes in other games.
-
Then you would not suffer from fear of missing out. That is key design philosophy in Destiny. It sucks, but it's what Bungie does. Explore other games.
-
7 RepliesI want to be allowed to claim the cosmetics for all three characters without signing in on all three characters
-
7 RepliesImpossible fr balancing purposes. The game would be beyond broken.
-
3 RepliesThe pass is already way too easy to level up Sorry if you couldn't play during these 3months I get that life can happens sometimes but its not an issue and it just something's that's far off the actual change needed
-
1 ReplyI like Halo Infinite having this feature, its a pretty good player experience knowing im not under much FOMO. If they allow previously owned Seasons rewards (Cosmetic only) to be accessed every +10 level after you reach Level 100 on the current season pass, then ill be fine with that.
-
I agree
-
-
so far i only missed 1 and that was back when felwinters lie was added i only got to level 40 so i missed out of that cool white shotgun ornament for that solar shotgun
-
Bungie answer was to implement buying levels for silver. Since silver is only available via real money then I can't see them letting previous seasons being completed without some kind of additional charge.
-
7 RepliesHalo infinite does this iirc. You pick the season or whatever to grind and get the gear. Why bungie doesn't allow this after you've already paid for it. If it benefits the players you can damn well know bungie will do opposite
-
No, FOMO is their door entrance sign of the Bungie headquarters, right after revenue. That won't happen.
-
halo mcc lets you spend rank up points to spend on rewards from other seasons. the difference is from halo mcc and destiny are great like legally in halo you buy the game but in destiny you rent a license they're also the size of the games to factor this games on console a 2tb destiny. also allot of content, I'm pretty sure is vaulted for legal from when they partnered with activisons i personally want to play season of the hunt and undying again. but if they had a 30 -40 dollar pack that added all the the arenas as playlist, with farmable drops like weapons, emotes, armor, from the prior seasons all in one I'd buy that.
-
I've always been asking for this, especially since I never finished my Season of the Splicer pass which is annoying. Halo Infinite has this feature I wish D2 did too.
-
Halo Infinite is the only game I have seen that implements this amazing feature.
-
Yes! I remember I paid for season of the Undying and had to work a lot, so didn’t get to grind the armour ornaments from the season pass, it’s been years bungie! Release it in the store or please let me grind out the old seasons! I want my vex leg haha

1 ReplyWhile I agree this would be fair, part of the games a service model is compellibg people to log in through the use of FOMO. I really dislike it, but I don't think it's going anywhere
-
1 ReplyDefeats the purpose of seasons
-
I actually kinda like that there's gear you had to be there for. Nothing game breaking. You can still get the exotics and everything but a little exclusivity for cosmetics is pretty cool IMO.
