Server issues
For real, it’s constant Contacting Destiny 2 Servers” for the last three days. And…
- Getting quitter penalties for getting kicked, and it’s not our fault. It’s a server issue!
- Getting penalties for leaving matches at the end of the match when we are NOT pressing the go to orbit button.
You need to disable quitter penalties until you fix your servers!!!!

3 RepliesThis is what a 3 billion dollar company looks like. I totally get that connections vary just by their natural state of existence, so I don't expect it to be perfect, but I'd expect 3 billion that was used properly would have a better operating standard than this nonsense.

1 ReplyThe sad thing is the game's problems go WAY deeper than server instability. That is only a symptom of Bugnie's lack of customer appreciation. I'm certain they enjoy seeing how much they can needlessly punish their gamer base just for the entertainment of watching everyone complain and then still buy their crap. Whether we want to admit it or not, Destiny is a dead game. They are consolidating servers and play lists due to population attrition and this is only going to accelerate that process.

Over this Christmas period they are all at home playing Fortnight and laughing with their families about how much money they made this year from Everworse and are saving because they turned off half the servers. If you want a better connection, don't play, you're 100% guaranteed to have an easier time.

Bungie is the worst company I would rather have EA

ever since they brought out the dawning update the server has been having problems, what they should do is get rid of the dawning and focus on the seraph season and make sure the servers are working correctly ready for the new dlc.

I get it's the holiday break, but seriously what harm is there in calling a couple employees back in for what's most likely gonna be less than a day's worth of problem solving. This could've been resolved yesterday or on Friday last week, they've known about it since the 22nd!

Had to reinvite 4 times during KF yesterday. And always getting an error at the start screen every time. Yikes

2 RepliesHaven’t had any issue or contacting Destiny servers at all in Europe over the past few days. However as soon as I teamed with my American friends, I got contacting Destiny servers.

Its been more than 3 days. I was just about an hour into a solo run on Seraph's Shield, just about to be the end boss, and "Contacting Destiny servers" appears AGAIN. This happens multiple times a day. Last night I was running a Nightfall and almost got to the end and same thing. IT IS NOT the internet connection. This is beyond ridiculous.

Ive had the contacting and not getting code error for like 7 months, and the last week I get a contacting then kicked like 3 times a day, today I was kicked 7 times.

I scaled back on playlist games since this issue cranked up the last week or so. No point risking a ban.

I beat the final boss of Spire. But the entire time I was getting Contacting Servers, so none of it counted and I had to redo the fight.
