As a Warlock main, I'm stuck playing one particular loadout, just to be viable and finish runs in a timely manner(Wellock). I'm not talking about doing patrols or basic strikes. I'm talking about anything that actually matters.
Enemies are too tanky, too abundant, too fast, flinch you too hard, and still kill you almost instantly even if you have 100 Resilience plus 2 Energy Diffusion Substrate mods while standing in Healing Rift.
Before anyone says its a skill level, its not. I've done GM's(Conqueror Seal), Dungeons, Raids, and Solo Master Lost Sectors. I think I have just about every mod in the game and a majority of weapons & armor. All my loadouts have double 100 stats, and sometimes triple 100 stats.
I'm sick of using stuff that I don't want to use just to get through it. Why I play the way I want to play and look the way I want to look, so I can live out my syfy fantasy?
Does anyone know of any similar games on Xbox with a slower pace?

17 RepliesIn reverse: 1. Outriders 2. Anthem (dead game) 3. Halo: Infinite (campaign) 4. The Division 2 ( near future rather than sci-fi/fantasy) 5. Borderlands 3 6. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Warlock main here since Destiny 1. What you’re describing is precisely why I’ve grown bored of Destiny’s end game, and why I seldom raid or do Dungeons anymore. Bungie has become so obsessed and controlling around “difficulty” and what weapons we use that there is no build variety anymore. I call it mashing the game flat. What I mean is that the game becomes so punishing in terms of enemies being bullet-sponges, and do such ridiculous amounts of damage….that you essentially become corralled into one way of playing, and an extremely limited number of viable builds. So, like you, I grew tired of having my build DECIDED FOR ME…and how I would play DECIDED FOR ME….before I even showed up. This kills any replay value of the content. Because once you’ve figured out what the content will allow you to do? The fifth run…or the 50th…really isn’t different from that first successful on. It’s just how “perfectly” can you run the program…. Imo, this is part of what is fueling the sense of burnout many dedicated players are feeling. I’ve managed to avoid it because I listen to what I’m feeling, and I stop engaging with the parts of the game that I no longer enjoy. But I really feel that Bungie is on the wrong track with GMNFs and Master raids. They destroy the sense of power fantasy (Hard to Be Legend where you’re hiding from what feels like being shelled by artillery), and it is incompatible with why most people play loot games. Because most of the loot that you acquire is end-game irrelevant because of content design and sandbox “management” (cough… over control…cough).

Substrate is bugged at the moment, so using 2 won't help. I've been running Stasis on my Warlock for a little while now, to some pretty great effect. Got a Stasis Shard build that keeps my health topped off (the fragment that gives you an overshield gives you health if you're not at full already) and i'm using Osmiomancy Gloves for the double grenade with the Coldsnap grenades. My only gripe is that there really is kind of crap damage with the super. It's good for clearing a room, but single target damage is kind of meh, at best.
-
I think you mean it's just not very well balanced not too hard
-
2 RepliesFor a warlock? Are you joking? Errr nova bomb, chaos reach. There stasis is good in gm nightfall. So maybe its a you problem
-
1 ReplyI second the warframe suggestion. It has its problems learning curve but overall much easier and alot of fun no required load outs no champs. Really good power fantasy slows down a bit when you collect all the things.

4 RepliesSkill issue.
-
5 RepliesStasis warlock is literally one of if not the best pve class in the game, but ok warlock main.
-
1 ReplyPlenty of viable warlock builds not solely revolving around well.
skill issue
-
4 RepliesWell isn’t great in GM’s really
-
Skill issue for sure
-
Sounds like a bad case of the skill issue
-
2 RepliesLean into arc, I think you'll find the power you seek. Personally, I'll run well if I'm asked to, but rifts are what they get otherwise.

1 ReplyI have a friend who plays this class as well and complains. I keep telling him to visit Ada-1 everyday and by mods. He refuses to do that since it’s to hard even though he gets on everyday. I since then haven’t cared when he complains about not doing so well. Are you getting mods or trying to make some sort of synergies with your build? If not I would highly recommend you do that as it will make your destiny experience more enjoyable. I have 4 builds (one for each class) and my builds work perfectly with my weapons and mods allowing me to succeed in many activities. This will become easier when we get loadouts in a few months. If you wanna play a fun game, Aliens fireteam elite has been a blast for me to play and is very easy to get into. Player base is low but I have never got frustrated at the game since it plays so well and I have a blast doing it. Good luck guardian and have a happy new year

I’ve got an “ok” stasis build, but my arc build is my “go to” warlock class. For me and my builds my solar Warlock has less overall survivability and lethality. I only use it when the team demands higher DPS in damage phases and wants me to use it.

Edited by NappQuest: 12/25/2022 8:14:19 PMSkill issue go burr. Plus using two of that particular mod is bugged and provides no benefit.
-
Warframe may be worth a shot. It's faster-paced, but easier. The difficulty is also much more controllable.
-
if you have problems with a tutorial game like d2 every game will give you problems, skill issue is the problem

Bruh what are you saying.
