Help with understanding armor rolls

Any help on knowing which gear is worth keeping? I know resilience and recovery is important but how do I figure out which legendary is worth masterworks. If there’s a website please link. Thank you!

  • Use D2 amor picker all you have to do is pick the exotic you want and than pick the stats you want on it. After it will show you what availabile and how much it’s cost to master work all of it. After that you can pull it up on dim and have it be put on your character. • It’s so convoluted and complicated that you just need to acquire an entire vault full of high stat armor and then let a piece of third party software like DIM(destiny item manager) sort it out for you. You tell it what total stat build you want and dim will tell you what pieces to pull together.

Destiny Item Manager has a function that analyzes armor stats. For end-game, the stats that matter are: Resilience, Recovery, Discipline, Intellect. Mobility is useless unless you’re a Hunter, and Strength is also pretty useless unless you have a very specialized build. So here’s how I approach assessing armor. 1. Anything below mid-50s in total stats gets trashed. 2. Anything mid-50s and higher gets looked at as a keeper. Stat distribution is more important than total stats. So I’ll add up the total stats for the four important stats. I want to see a value at least in the 40s. Preferably higher. 3. I don’t start thinking masterworking armor unless it’s low-60s with a very good stat distribution (50+) or mid-60s with a solid stat spread. In the current sandbox, it’s important that each armor piece for endgame pve have a good resilience stat. The damage resistance that a good resilience gives is very noticeable. Below 60 you will feel under powered. Eighty and above you start to feel kind of tanky. After that it comes down to your build and mod costs. If you want to run high recovery or intellect, then having strong stats in those areas is important because the mods are very costly in terms of energy level.

    • Recovery isnt worth much. Resilience and either strenght or discipline depending on your build in pve. And i only masterwork stuff if 2 stats have above 20-25 in a stat.

    • Did you play previous seasons - Risen, Haunted, and Plunder? Try focusing armor among the three vendors and see what drops you get. Ghost has some armor mods that can help boost a stat. I just play Warlock and usually have various sets of gear; my armor stats - Resilience, Recovery, Discipline, and Intellect can average in the 80s or higher which makes a difference when in Heist Battles. Your subclass fragments can help add to your stats too. And then there are mods builds that can help with your cooldown rates of your stats.

    • You have to look at stat distribution as well as the overall base stats. I don't keep anything below 64/65 base, but even armour with those stats gets deleted if the stat distribution is pants.

      • Resilience is the most important stat. Recovery can also be pretty pog. Beyond that it’s entirely up to you and what you want from your build.

      • Anything above 60 is worth considering - if the stats you are looking for on the armour are higher than the equipped one, then it might be worth using. Ofc, my stats are low.

      • It literally all comes down to personal preference and play style, if you want to build into strength and have an armour piece with high strength, masterwork it For a basic understanding of how it all works I'd recommend watching a video but try not to fall into their trap and do whatever they say. 80 total stat gear is worthless if it's low in the stat you're building into
