20+ hours farming DSC weapons and not one red border

2 RepliesI got 9 out of the 10 red borders for the shotty/sniper in 6 hours. Dunno how many runs we did. Finished the raid to get my 10th. Boom!

1 ReplyTbh you're probably better off just doing you're run once a week and when it's the weekly raid still run through it while only doing atraks and taniks challenge since their faster, yeah the challenges only give the red borders for those weapons but you can at least knock them out faster than the others.

There is a Reddit post averaging the drop rates vs 600 drops and it's roughly 2.5-3% drop chance lol. Was going to farm this weekend but probably will just buy my 1 a week after seeing that.

2 RepliesI watched Chevy streaming last night. After 23 runs he calculated the drop for Heritage, it was 1.28%. Only 4 dropped for 6 people that played during those 23 runs. I'm sure it was much worse by the time he ended the stream. Probably sub 1%.

Someone did the math and it looks like red borders are a 1% drop rate. You're better off doing Taniks once a week for five weeks to get your gun. That's what I plan on doing.

We did one run of Aksis and were like...nah. I'll get my Trustee in 2 weeks after buying 2 more at the end of the raid. That's all I want anyway.

1 ReplyConstantly farming seems to hinder getting things you want. Ran it 4 times in the last 2 weeks and personally gotten 4 red border weapons, 2 HC’s and 2 trustees. That is not including the 2 I bought from the last chest.

I’ve farmed all day and I haven’t gotten a single red boarder weapon either. How does bungie expect people to want to grind this raid(or any raid) for red boarder weapons if the rate is so incredibly low especially when dsc is the featured raid with double loot from challenge mode? Not to mention that bungie only allows 1 red boarder weapon purchase per week from the chest that you need to farm spoils for to purchase. Farming spoils is slow and you only get 5 per encounter after you’ve spent the time to beat the encounter initially.
