Especially when solo triumphs are a thing. Is it hard? No. But...do I really wanna 20 phase the harpy or Persys while solo? I don't see why a dungeon boss should have so much health. It doesn't add difficulty. It's just time consuming.
If it guaranteed the Exotic weapon or maybe even an ornament for it, I'd be more inclined to do it. But otherwise I'll take my chances.
Edit: Not really 20 phases, people 🤦

1 ReplyI think if it scaled based on player count, then the solo flawless’s would seem so much less significant. It’d be like “Oh you solo’d a dungeon? Well you only did it because the boss’s have less health” rather than it just being a cool accomplishment.

2 Replies#PleaseMakeThisGameEasierForMe Got it. And no...I don't do solo runs
-
4 RepliesThis is exactly why I don't like trying to solo dungeons. It's not the difficulty. I can get better and improve. The problem is the time investment. I don't like having to make the choice between playing the way I want and having well over 3 damage phases or throwing out my dignity by crutching on the 2 or 3 meta options.
-
Just soloed spire snd that boss had 5.6 million damage lol it’s insane amounts of gp. I think I 4 or 5 phased.
-
In reality, it’s 30 damage phases 🤷🏼♂️

23 RepliesYou know from my perspective Caiatl alone took me almost an hour. 12 different damage phases, sick to my stomach from stress, I still achieved that flawless. I live for experiences like that. Soloing should lean more towards a test of endurance and the gamble to shorten that journey can cost you your life.
-
10 RepliesIt's honestly not that bad considering it's supposed to be challenging. You get a damage buff from solo operative. The thing that kept ruining my runs were the fans for spire lol. Not everything should be a handout. Treat it like an endurance run take your time don't be greedy. Goodluck.
-
You said it yourself, it's time consuming , that's exactly why they did it like that,to keep you there as long as possible
-
11 RepliesYou can solo both bosses in 3 phases on all 3 classes, I’m not sure how much quicker you want do to it solo?
-
Solo dungeons are hard, instead of assuming whats easy for you is easy for others think to consider the hours and weeks you have put into the game. What is easy to you isnt easy to others and still provides a really fun challenge to a vast majority of players. On god, people just forget that skill is a factor in PvE. Not everyone can do a GM, not everyone can do a Master Raid. The fact people forget this and demand change is insane

16 RepliesEdited by Artisan: 12/23/2022 5:16:06 PMOther than forcing people to play how Bungie want us to play, there's no good reason why we can't choose to play either solo, with one friend, or with two, and not have three different de facto difficulties all just for same rewards. It makes no sense. It can only advantage the company and thats at the expense of players. There are no downsides to giving players choice. An "easy mode" shouldn't only be available - and completely forced - for threes. And, also, a "challenge mode" shouldn't only be available and forced for soloplaying. Make it so "normal" MEANS Normal, "legendary" MEANS Legendary, and even potentially on to even harder modes but AVAILABLE to all fireteam sizes. Rewards should be appropriate to the actual difficulty. Especially now they're selling these separately. Especially when there's a marked lack of general-level solo activities, once anyone has done Strikes a 1001 times. Especially when Dungeons are a selling point of Deluxe editions. Especially when they've shown difficulty-scaling or difficulty-equalizing works and that this is highly popular in the WQ Legendary Campaign. So much for theory. The truth is the roadblock is only in a few players minds who are kidding themselves or are confused that theyre losing something or dont care about just how much is definitely gained for many more, but more significantly the lack of "velocity", willingness, and responsiveness from Bungie to innovate.

Persys has argos the planetary core syndrome IMO. The mechanics aren't hard so to balance it out, let's make the boss an absolute bulletsponge, you think valus ta'urc was bad? Wait until you meet persys👍 Nah for real, last spire boss fight is literally this - How many supplicants a minute can we spam in every room for "Difficulty" - A big boss with a chonky health bar chasing you and if unlucky, shoots your buddy dead after being rezzed - The wires player, where do they go, and what high school tech student did the wiring of that bloody tower. It looks like when I did wiring when I was 5🤣

3 RepliesYou’re asking for a time reduction QOL change for a game that seems to treat RNG grind as a form of content. What’s the red border drop rate of DSC right now? 3%? I know that’s a somewhat unrelated issue, but consider this: they consider their time more important than yours. I mean it’s the -blam!- holidays, what would giving border weapons freely do that’s so horrible?

9 RepliesEdited by mayo68: 12/23/2022 11:37:38 AMLast week was ruff in the dungeon. Couldn’t even tell you how many damage phases for the harpy (uhg). This week much smoother with some loadout changes (highly recommend statis exotic trace)…a little power level goes along way. Solo is more about finding that “pattern” to run and punching it into muscle memory. Team runs do not need to rely on survival builds as much and can let it fly with damage. Should the boss scale? Absolutely…not. Where is the glory in that as a solo guy? I except the challenge of the boss and his unlimited health bar…dude is still going down baby and it makes for one polished guardian in that dungeon one day.👍🏼

5 RepliesThe rewards are weighted for a team. If you go Solo in a Dungeon as it is now, the rewards still make sense, because you are doing difficult content. If they scale the Dungeons down for Solo, then the current rewards make no sense because it would be a LOT easier to finish them, and that would start the trend of everyone going solo, because ... it changes the difficulty in favor of a really well designed cheesy Solo build. I'm just pointing out the mechanics here.
-
4 RepliesIt already scales based on fireteam size.

5 RepliesEdited by Eclipse: 12/23/2022 10:43:49 AMDungeon is easy besides the final boss 😭 Took me 50 minutes to get from The start to the final boss Solo btw

Lol you scared me with the 20 thing dude 😮💨
-
2 RepliesThats fair, you shouldn’t need to be ungodly optimized to get a reasonable amount of damage phases solo your either good enough or not to manage the room and stay alive (and of course a part of it is doing a reasonable amount of damage), but personally this is why i prefer mechanical damage sometimes because then its consistent and doesn’t waste your time. Also if u flawless a raid or solo flawless a dungeon the exotic should be guaranteed, a way to circumvent the rng by simply being good at the game.
-
3 RepliesGreat players can 2 phase solo the bosses. Good players take 3, above average take 4. It ain’t that difficult
-
28 Replies
If it guaranteed the Exotic weapon or maybe even an ornament for it, I'd be more inclined to do it. But otherwise I'll take my chances.
It guarantees a unique emblem, assuming you do it flawless. There's aboslutely no good reason to make these feats easier.

1 ReplyNo. Solo flawless is an endurance test. Learn how to survive.
-
I agree. Normal boss health while in fireteam, ~50 less when solo.
-
12 RepliesI agree with your logic. Sadly too many on here love the “it’s supposed to be hard” argument when it’s really “tedious.” Maybe they aspire to be Bungie employees. 🤔
-
1 ReplyI can understand both arguments here. The argument for: "Yeah, duh, it's supposed to be challenging and take awhile," pushes you as a player to optimize your loadout to its absolute best, try any and all solutions which will refine your plays and allow you to surprise yourself with how much damage you can do alone. However, there is weight to the argument of, "Having to fight a boss with health meant for three players gets tiring and exhausting to play against." Yes, trying to solo flawless a dungeon takes work and focus (and it won't happen on your first try), but with focus comes a tax on your mental energy and stamina. The longer you have to keep focusing on dodging Supplicants and a giant Wyvren which does tons of damage, the more tired you will get and will more easily make a mistake. Borderlands has similar dungeon bosses like Destiny, but the health of the bosses scales with how many players are in your group. Even if you are alone, the boss isn't a cake-walk, but it's still doable without taking forty minutes for a single encounter. Often cases, players have found ways to maximize their damage and kill the boss in one hit (something Bungie seems incredibly opposed to). Now, different game, different franchise, but still a relatively close comparison to big boss battles.

11 RepliesScaling the bosses health based on fireteam size quite literally defeats the purpose of both the solo and solo flawless triumphs/achievements. The whole point is to overcome endgame content and activities that are built for three person teams and to do so solo. Any halfway way decent team can melt both Spire bosses with very minimal DPS phases and any who can’t need to look at their builds, loadouts, and team compositions. It’s not just about the damage done during boss encounters either, it’s also about having the endurance and ability to stay alive in between damage phases. So yes, if you minimize the DPS needed based on fireteam size then it will in fact make it easier because it’ll leave less room and time for players to make errors or fail. The dungeon wasn’t even out for a full two days before people ran to the forums to whine and cry about Supplicants and the bosses health. It’s pathetic lol. It’s the newest dungeon, it’s not supposed to be steamrolled immediately. Every other dungeon has been the exact same way in the very beginning. That is until optimal strats are found and put into practice. I find it hilarious that 9/10 the people who complain about this type of stuff have never done a solo or solo flawless dungeon before and then they blame “tedium” as the culprit why lol. Right. Bet. The dungeon is fine, it’s the players who need to be fixed. 🤦🏻♂️
