Game on a downward spiral
Bungie tinker with this; with that; to a point their game is no longer the game we thought it was; no longer the game we enjoyed playing.
There’s a lot that we could list; but when Bungie sending out game surveys; then you know it’s too late. Instead of improving on the basic fundamentals of the game; they do the opposite to the point of upsetting most of the community.
Honest opinion I think this games done for; Lightfall won’t save it.

8 RepliesIt is almost an insane level of ridiculousness of how bad of an echo chamber these forums are. Bungie at this point has no reason to even take any post here seriously. If you no longer enjoy playing a game, that is a YOU problem. Destiny has always been and will always be the same thing it is currently, just slight differences. Nothing has really changed. YOU have changed and that's fine, but stop thinking any game studio is there to cater to your wants. They're a business and the one and only goal is to make a profit. Both Bungie and the Destiny property are definitely turning a profit. Businesses don't stay open for a decade plus without making a profit.

Yup, they know it, we know it. Yet they still keep their public fake persona going and say "Destiny's brightest days are ahead". Destiny had it's brightest days long ago WITH activision back in D1 and D2 year 2. After that, everything turned into zero quality, throwaway garbage content to milk players. Without a proper dev taking over, D2 is dead. All their talented senior devs clearly work on Bungies new upcoming games and a skeleton crew of junior devs keep this game alive purely for money flow while milking loyal players for their money till the new games are ready.

4 RepliesD2 is doing just fine. It’s still got a healthy population and there isn’t really anything fundamentally broken with the game. Game is still fun to play, there’s still cool loot. Game is a bit stagnant but that’s about it. Tbh the biggest issue is that Bungie is the only dev so far that knows how to make a looter shooter so they have no competition. It’s honestly to Destiny’s detriment that every other studio has failed horrifically at getting a looter shooter to stick.

36 RepliesBecause the community sucks. Yea Bungie makes some bonehead and borderline moronic decisions like this season and their model in general but the community is impossible. You don't know what you and you can't fathom the thought that maybe what you want isn't what EVERYONE wants. The community will never come together for the betterment of the game without their own touch on the game. One minute it's a casual game the next it's darksouls the lazy edition. Broken record.

But personally I will stick with it till it dies off because of how long I've played this crap, I kind of just want to see how it ends whether that be a forced end or one of their own making. But other than that I really want to see just how bungie juggles d2 and any other Ip they plan on making. For now we know of Matter in 2025 but I've heard they're remaking their old Ip Marathon as well. So I just want to see how badly d2 will suffer after The final shape comes and goes in 2025 and bungie moves on to Matter and the remake of Marathon.

41 RepliesWell the population is hitting the lowest lows and the lowest highs ever. Obviously they are gonna call it quits come The Final Shape. You can't fund 650 employees salaries off $60 a year DLC and $40 for seasons. Nevermind the building costs, technology, advertising, Microsoft/Steam/Sony's cut of sales, etc etc. When this game can't even crack a million players anymore at its highest, it is obvious they aren't seeing a profit anymore. They are going to do whatever they want, milk us for the last couple DLCs, and lie saying there will be more after this even though they have not said a word about what "more" might be. You just don't tell someone you plan on killing a product if you want them to buy more of it first. It would just hurt sales.

You start saying to yourself what am I doing still playing this -blam!-, most all my friends have moved on and I'm still here!? What wrong with me. Then proceed to repeat a day later....😔 I want to love this game again, but sadly I don't think things are going to change anytime soon.

3 RepliesDestiny 2 doesn't need to be saved even if it's a zombie. Bungie is not targeting a Bafta or Game of the year award, they work with industrial standards. The game has an established pool of in game content and mechanics which will be mixed and published every three months. They are proud of that model - just listen to: My Thoughts on Bungie's GDC Panel. And even if it's dead, literally, it's very successful, you only have to look for: Destiny 2 Player Count. Nothing will change. Bungie will carry on with his recycle agenda, because this is what they are and their success legitimates this course. For me, it was sad to see parts of the Warmind DLC return like this but this is how it is now. At the end of the day it's just a game, and I still say $100 for a full year of content isn't that much but after this year I can't tell if I like to continue with it. I love Destiny 2 but I can't stand anymore what's all coming with it. Best thing is to laugh about it. ; )
