"Ascending the divisions" is a ridiculously prohibitive quest to get the rose.
its one thing to complete 7 games and get stomped, but whatever my rank is supposed to be it has not corrected and I am losing twice as much as i win. imagine my irritation when i finally get a total of 500 rank points to find that I now have to gain a rank level to get the next step and then there is more after that.
for a quest that im supposed to be able to do once a week this is awful. matches take forever. and im not being rewarded in the slightest for being stomped. you need losers like me to play for anyone to win and if you arent going to even give me quest progress on the one thing i want out of the game mode then everything is going to suck. i get that there is this whole grinding loop that is oh so profitable for bungie but if i do season stuff i at least get enough stuff to get an ikelos from time to time.
maybe let us focus umbrals into the rose? or something? because "getting good" isnt exactly a solution and yet it seems to be the only requirement of the blasted questline. i'm not playing competitve or even pvp until theres a reason to be everyone's piñata.
unrelated, i hope yall figured out a way to make the mida multi tool to drop its catalyst with the new ranked system.

now I am officially hate PvP content in this game, I would erase all quest related to PvP as long as it can be erased (abandoned) & i am also considering to not buying any other content until the general issues i had fixed. its ridiculous that i have to wait for 45 minutes to get into a single match FR bungie? WTF is wrong with your matchmaking systems? & when i get there server keeps lagging & having anyother issues, fix the -blam!- thing already FFS im just wanna play the game comfortably. having all controller players far better aim assist compared to all PC players dont put them into the game -blam!- -blam!-. just fix the -blam!- lag issues generally.

4 RepliesI agree, the quest sucks. My understanding was that I'd be facing others on or around my skill level. And yet, after qualifying, my team won a SINGLE match. The funniest part was the fact that we were 2 vs 3. EVERY other match, 3 vs 3, was either a shut-out, or close enough to one as to make no difference. I was placed in copper I (pitiful, I know), and before I got that lonely little victory, I dropped all the way to copper III. When I want to get monkey-stomped in PvP, I'll play Trials. And before the mocking and ridicule begins, I want to state that in the old comp mode, I at least made an upward climb in the ranking. Whatever this alleged "ranking" system is supposed to be, I think it's just plain rank. See what I did there? So, I'll justb do the crucible when it matters as far as challenges go, the comp s*** can get flushed. Okay, PvP gods, the floor is yours. Commence with the "git gud" bulls**t. On a side note, yeah, the stupid Mida catalyst was one I was excited to finally score. I guess that paltry hope has been crushed with a rock, as well.

Imagine logging into the game and just looking around before coming to the forums to complain. Had he only played his first 7 games and then logged back in after reset the comp module would had said 0/3 games reward rose. It’s magic.

Relax. You are getting yourself worked up over literally nothing. Bungie designed the reward system around casual pvp players and still they can't win. You get a rose when you complete your 7 placement matches. Then you have to wait until the weekly reset before you can get another 3 roses by simply playing 3 matches per character. It is not a farmable weapon.

Week 1 play 7 games for placement get rose. Week 2 and every week after it’s just play 3 games and guess what you get rose lol do that on each character and guess what you get rose lol. Don’t worry about that ascending the divisions quest it gives you nothing. Go to comp icon under where it says pinnacle play 3 games it also says play 3 games for rose.
