Ingredient Drop Rates are Hilariously Bad
I ran The Orrery Lost Sector THREE times and you know how many Vex Milk I got? Two. Total. I also killed every single vex with Solar Damage, know how many Impossible Heat I got. ZERO.
Went into more sectors and meleed every single enemy. I got TWO Personal Touches after easily killing over 120 enemies with melee.
I'm out. This "event" is a colossal disrespect of my time, and on top of that it's just a giant Eververse commercial. Good try Bungie, but I will not be participating.

Relax, don't sweat it. Usually after one week you have everything. And at the end of the event you are down on your knees praying you were untroubled by another loot drop landing at your postmaster. Not knowing which one of the 4 perk rolls you should keep as your vault already is full.

2 RepliesUmmm no. Already got my star baker seal. They drop like candy from everything. Will say perfect touch is the one ingredient I don’t have like 100 of. So it definitely has a lower drop chance than the rest.

5 RepliesYou'll have around 3 million of each by the end of the event, why does everyone want to get everything done on day 1? It's not meant to be that way. Next thing you'll moan there's nothing to do once you've raced and grinded to have everything done on day 1.

I am wondering if the low drop rate is meant to gently guide us (with Bungie's usual 'grace', meaning they use a sledge hammer to try and force us), to use the [b]Stay Frosty[/b] pulse rifle we get right at the start from Eva after giving some treat to Zavala and then going back. It has a perk called "Dawning Surprise" - [i]"Rapidly defeating targets awards a Dawning Gift."[/i] Pfft, that or we are supposed to use [i]snowballs[/i] that are stacked everywhere (which Bungie [i]also[/i] pushed too hard). Btw. I am NOT defending the low drop rate. Being stingy seems to be Bungie's thing recently (and not so recently). I am just pointing out a thing I noticed because it was [i]weird[/i]. Maybe they need a Dawning Gift to make their hearts grow three sizes this day... 😜

4 RepliesI didn’t have much of an issue last night. I wouldn’t call the drop rates “good”, but they didn’t feel bad either. So far every ingredient I sought to get last night I was able to get pretty quickly. I wasn’t looking for a whole farm to have a dozen or more of something by the end of a lost sector. I was just trying to get going to do a few, like finishing master working the oven. What was a neat surprise was glaive melee kills can get you both personal touch and sharp flavor. It felt like I was seeing ingredients pop up more often when doing public events, but that could just be my imagination. But you do get essence of dawning for them, which you dont for lost sectors. So there’s also that. Maybe some activities have lower ingredient drop chances than others.

It does not appear that I will be able to complete the daily bounty for cookies that require null taste. I have killed multiple lost sectors with void damage and have not received a single ingredient. This kind of failure of QC is why I haven't paid money for content since Season of the Lost.

I’m pretty sure the ingredients are classified the same as loot from common to rare. It’s only make sense seeing as you will always always wind up an over abundance of certain ones while only barely getting into double digits of others. I usually just play the first week normally, switching weapons here and there and then buy the second week I start baking.

2 RepliesYeh, I started this whole dawning grind, despite being unimpressed by the copy paste format of yesteryear, and was still stunned by the sheer grindiness of it. The thought of needing to bake every cookie again to masterwork the oven again. 🤦♂️The whole thing needs overhauling for me. Which it won't be.

I needed Failsafes cookies so I went to Nessus to get Vex Milk. I spent over 30 minutes on it, looking for Vex and killing them till I finally found a hidden tiny cave undergound no where near anything where Vex happen to not stop spawning. Even then, it took over ten of those minutes straight killing Vex. All in all I killed over 200 Vex to get 1 Vex Milk. Where King's Fall, I had Taken ingredients drop on every single kill to the point the sound it made was getting annoying. Obviously multiple people worked on ingredients cause the actual drop rates differ too much for it to have been the same person making all the drop rates.

I ran around trying to get the stasis one, dark frosting or whatever it is. I used 3 stasis supers, and a stasis primary in between each super in order to finally get ONE. The amount of running around killing with stasis to get 3 supers off for one drop is absurd. Went to get the perfect taste (headshots), and it took over 100 precision kills to get one
